Abstract

This research was motivated by author's observation at SMP N 1 Ampek Angkek where some of the students was a game players. Although they were played game online, they still got good grades in their school.This study aims to determine the relationship of online games with students' mathematical critical thinking skills held at SMP N 1 Ampek Angkek. This research is a quantitative research with the type of research used is relationship research. The independent variable in this study is online games and the dependent variable is students' critical thinking abilities. The population in this study amounted to 114 students, while the sampling was done by random sampling of 29 students. Based on the results of the research that the researchers did obtained the value of the Pearson Product Moment relationship, r(count) = 0.068 with 0.05 significance level. So that based on the interpretation of the coefficient relationship r value is between 0.00 <0.068 <0.199, the relationship between the two variables (online games with critical thinking skills) is very low. Based on the significance test obtained sig = 0.728. Because the value of sig = 0.728> α = 0.05, it can be concluded that there is correlationship but not significant between online games with mathematical critical thinking skills at SMP N 1 Ampek Angkek.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi peneliti di SMP N 1 Ampek Angkek dimana banyak siswa menjadi pemain dalam game online  walaupun mereka bermain game online mereka masih mendapatkan nilai yang di atas KKM dalam sekolahnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan game online dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Ampek Angkek. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasi. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah game online dan  variabel terikat adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 114 siswa, dengan jumlah sampel 29 siswa yang dipilih secara acak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai hubungan Pearson Product Moment,  pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Berdasarkan interpretasi koefisien hubungan nilai  terletak pada selang  yang berarti korelasi antara kedua variable (game online dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis) tergolong sangat rendah. Berdasarkan uji signifikansi diperoleh  Karena nilai  maka dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang tidak signifikan antara game online dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMPN 1 Ampek Angkek

Abstract

Abstract:This research is motivated by the students'poorly mathematical connection ability, more teacher-centered learning. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the mathematical connection ability of students who took part in the learning with the contextual approach was better than the students' mathematical connection ability with the conventional approach in class VII Of Junior High School 1 Banuhampu. The type of this  research used is experimental. In the experimental class the teaching and learning process is carried out by applying the contextual learning approach while the control class uses conventional learning. Based on the results of data analysis obtained = 2.45>  = 1.67 so that the results of the study show that the mathematical connection ability of students who follow learning with a contextual approach is better than the students' mathematical connection ability with conventional approaches in class VII Of Junior High School 1 BanuhampuAbstrak:Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa, pembelajaran yang lebih terpusat kepada guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konstektual lebih baik dari kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa dengan pendekatan konvensional di kelas VII SMP N 1 Banuhampu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Pada kelas eksperimen proses belajar mengajar dilakukan dengan menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran konstektual sedangkan kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh sehingga diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konstektual lebih baik daripada kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa dengan pendekatan konvensional di kelas VII SMPN 1 Banuhampu
