<![CDATA[Apart from the glory of communicative language teaching, there have been some critiques of its application. One of them is about the existence of pronunciation in CLT. Some scholars stated that pronunciation had fallen from favor in the era of communicative language teaching and was ineffective. However, some other researchers stood on different statements toward the teaching of pronunciation. Some stated the need for the integration of pronunciation with oral communication. Students can be expected to do well in the pronunciation of English if the pronunciation class is taken out of isolation and becomes an integral part of oral communication. Therefore, the researcher conducted a small survey related to the teaching of pronunciation from the perspective of future English teachers. The main reasons why future teachers were chosen as the subjects of this study were: (1) they have had exposures on the new paradigms of teaching English in the university, (2) it is they who will conduct the teaching of English in Indonesia in the coming future, so it is important to know the underlying concepts of pronunciation in English language teaching they have.]]>
