Abstract

Abstrak The research was conducted in November 2018 - February 2019 in the Sub-watershed of the Lahombuti River in Lahotutu Village, Konawe Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine aspects of population density and distribution patterns of the Kalambodo (A. woodiana) in the Sub watershed of the Lahombuti tributary in Lahotutu Village, Wonggeduku District, Konawe Regency. The sampling location was determined using the purposive random sampling method. Sampling of Kalambodo (A. woodiana) was carried out at the location with the greatest abundance of A. woodiana, in the Sub watershed of the Lahombuti tributary of Lahotutu Village, on the "Main Rice Field Irrigation Channel" (diameter: ± 1,75 m, length: ± 4500 m, depth: ± 110 cm). Sampling of A. Woodiana was carried out at the same station with different spot sampling points. The Kalambodo samples were taken using a 1x1 m2 sized transect on 3 randomly assigned plots. The range of A. woodiana density per sub station is November 2018 amounting to 67-95 ind/m2, December 2018 is 41-61 ind/m2, January 2019 is 41-148 ind/m2 and February 2019 is 101- 114 ind/m2. The average density based on the period from the highest to the lowest is obtained in February 2019, January 2019, November 2018, and December 2018, which is 106.67 ind/m2, 81.33 ind/m2, 78 ind/m2, and 53 ind/m2, respectively. The distribution pattern of A. woodiana in the Sub-watershed of the Lahombuti River Basin generally shows a uniform category (Id <1), with a range of morisitha index values of 0.65-0.87.

Abstract

This research was conducted from May to August 2020, located in the Wandoke Watershed, Gunung Sejuk Village, South Buton Regency. This study aims to analyze the invasive status of the alien species Tarebia granifera based on the perspective of its population density in the river of Gunung Sejuk village. This research is intended to examine the dominance of T. granifera species to local gastropod commodities in the typical habitats and niches of the Wandoke river. Determination of the station or location of the observation begins with a preliminary survey, making it easier to select and determine research stations. Determination of research stations using purposive sampling technique or method of designating stations deliberately, based on the presence of invasive alien species populations of T. granifera and T. granifera sampling using simple random sampling or T. granifera sampling is done randomly in a square transect measuring 100 m2 , using a quadratic transect measuring 1 m2, with the assumption that each point in the transect measuring 100 m2 has homogeneous conditions. The population density of T. granifera at each station in the months of May - August (Spatial and Temporal) shows the size is not much different, where the density range is 21 ind/m2- 43.33 ind/m2. The results of measurement and population density analysis of T. granifera in the waters of the Wandoke river, Gunung Sejuk village is the massive empirical evidence of the invasive pattern of the thiaridae snail.

Abstract

This research aims to identify mudlobster species in Tanjung Tiram District, Southeast Sulawesi. Based on the identification, all specimens caught was belong to the species of Thalassina anomala (Herbst, 1804). Morphological characteristics of T. anomala distinguishing from other types Thalassina:           1) Rostrum triangular shape, rounded and serrated along its lateral border; 2) Dorsomedian tubercless on carapace extending up to the dorsal part of the first abdominal somite; 3) Abdominal sternite 2-5 on pleopod to have a tubercless in the middle (median line), 4) Pereopod 1have 13-20 tubercless on the inner side of the propodal and along the lateral side of the propodus, and 5) On males, petasma without proximal spine and rounded tip wide without setae. The finding of T. anomalain mangrove forest (intertidal zone) of Tanjung Tiram was basically cause by the distribution of this species in the world wide is widely distributed than other species from the genus of thalassina.

Abstract

This research was conducted in January-March 2021 in North Kolaka Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure of the freshwater gastropod community in North Kolaka Regency. This research applies a combination method (qualitative-quantitative) in determining the sampling location and sampling process. Determination of the sampling location using purposive sampling method based on the presence of gastropod communities and quantitative sampling using simple random sampling technique. Gastropod samples were collected manually using a metal hand scoop and gloves. The total gastropod sample obtained at 17 sampling points was 4250 individuals. The gastropod community structure in North Kolaka Regency consists of 19 genera and 33 species spread over 9 families, namely Achantinidae, Ampullariidae, Ariophantidae, Lymnaeidae, Neritidae, Pachychilidae, Planorbidae, Thiaridae and Viviparidae. The results of the analysis of the gastropod community structure showed a relatively stable condition, where the average abundance of gastropods reached 91.94 ind./m2 and the abundance of gastropod species ranged from 0.29-16 ind./m2. Gastropod species diversity was categorized as moderate with a maximum value (H' = 2.96) or close to H'>3 (high category), moderate evenness (E = 0.85), high species richness (R = 4.35), dominance which showed that there was no dominant species (C = 0.08) and the distribution of gastropods showed a clustered pattern (Ip = 0.01). The freshwater types in North Kolaka Regency are generally rocky rivers so that the gastropod community is dominated by the Neritidae and Thiaridae families, especially the Tarebia granifera, Melanoides tuberculata and Clithon corona.
