Abstract

Nelayan tradisional di pulau kecil memandang dirinya bersama alam fisik dan alam metafisik berada dalam satu sistem kehidupan antara mikro kosmos dan makro kosmos yang harus selaras.  Oleh karena itu, pengetahuan yang mereka miliki serta ritual yang mereka lakukan berkaitan erat dengan mitos, kultus, ritus, magis, dan pamali sebagai pedoman yang dipergunakan dalam menjalankan aktivitas kehidupannya sehari-hari.  Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis kepercayaan dan pamali nelayan pulau-pulau kecil sebagai tata kelakuan yang dipengaruhi oleh unsur budaya lokal dan berpenetrasi ke dalam sistem sosial masyarakat. Jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus.  Pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan langsung, dan wawancara mendalam melalui teknik snowball dengan prinsip triangulasi. Analisis data melalui content analysis. Selama penelitian berlangsung, ditemukan 30 informan sebagai sumber data primer, yaitu tokoh nelayan, tokoh adat, punggawa, sawi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa praktek ritual yang berasosiasi dengan kepercayaan serta ungkapan-ungkapan berupa pamali pada komunitas nelayan Pulau Kambuno merupakan tata kelakuan yang menjadi aturan-aturan ide, gagasan, serta nilai-nilai yang terikat dalam suatu kesatuan budaya, yaitu (1) pola bersikap yang mendapat isi dari pengarahan dari nilai-nilai budaya, (2) pola bertindak dalam kegiatan komunitas nelayan, dan (3) pola sarana benda-benda (fisik).  Tiga wujud budaya tersebut merupakan jiwa, organisasi dan teknologi sebagai tata tertib yang dijaga eksistensinya dalam keselarasan antara mikro kosmos dengan makro kosmos yang sekaligus mempersatukan segenap komunitas nelayan.  Pola kebudayaan yang diadaptasi nelayan Pulau Kambuno merupakan praktek tradisi yang terwarisi dari generasi ke generasi berikutnya sambil melakukan penyesuain-penyesuaian seiring dengan perkembangan zaman.     Traditional fishermen in small island look at themselves with the physical and metaphysical realms as being in a single system of life between the micro cosmos and macro cosmos which must be in harmony. Therefore, the knowledge they have and the rituals they perform are closely related to myths, cults, rites, magic, pamali as guidelines used in carrying out their daily activities. The research objective was belief analyze and pamali fishermen of small island as behavior that is influenced by local culture elements and penetrate into the social system of society. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. Collecting data through direct observation, in-depth interviews using snowball techniques with the principle of triangulation. Data analysis through content analysis. During the research, 30 informants were found as primary data sources, including fishermen leader , traditional leaders, punggawa, sawi.  The results of the study found that ritual practices associated with beliefs and expressions in the form of pamali in the fisherman community of Kambuno Island are behaviors that become rules of ideas, ideas and values ​​that are bound in a cultural unity which includes, namely: (1 ) attitude patterns that get the contents of the direction cultural values, (2) patterns of action in fisherman community activities, and (3) patterns of means (physical) objects. Three forms of culture are the soul, organization and technology as an order which is maintained in harmony between the micro cosmos and macro cosmos which simultaneously unites all fisherman community. Adapted cultural pattern by the fishermen of Kambuno Island is a traditional practice which inherited  from generation to next generation while making adjustments along with the times.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the role of Fish Landing Places on improving the welfare of fishing communities (2) the process of trading fish at Sape Fish Landing Places, and (3) the advantages and disadvantages of Sape Fish Landing Places. This research was conducted in December 2021 at the Sape Fish Landing Place. The type of research used is field research, this research is qualitative and quantitative. The sampling method is purposive sampling. The sample in this study was the fishing community and the manager of the Sape Fish Landing Place. The data sources are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques through in-depth interviews using questionnaires, observation and documentation. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data on the role of the Sape Fish Landing Place was processed using a 4-point Likert Scale. The results of this study indicate that the institutional role of the Sape Fish Landing Place is to have a role as a landing and loading and unloading place for fishermen's catch, a place for marketing and distribution of fisherman's catch, a center for developing fishing communities that have a fairly good level of role. The role of the Sape Fish Landing Place as a place for fish quality development has a good level of role and as a place for fishing vessels to have a very good level of role. The existence of the Sape Fish Landing Place as a forum for fishing communities to carry out activities to improve their lives. The process of trading fish at the Sape Fish Landing Place is a primary commodity trading activity and wholesale trade. The advantages and disadvantages of the Sape Fish Landing Place are that the fish trade process takes place in a simple and peaceful manner, while the drawback of the Sape Fish Landing Place is that the facilities and infrastructure are still lacking.

Abstract

This study aims to find out to determine the form of social network for Grouper (Epinephelus sp.) fishermen in Untia Fisherman Village, Makassar City before the Covid-19 pandemic period and to determine the ability of Grouper (Epinephelus sp.) fishermen in building social networks. during the covid-19 pandemic in the Untia Fisherman's Village, Makassar City. This study uses descriptive qualitative and data collection techniques are observation and interviews using questionnaires. The sampling technique used snowball sampling with a total sample of 10 people. This research was conducted in March-April 2021 in Untia Fisherman's Village, Biringkanaya District, Makassar City with data analysis methods, namely data collection, data reduction, data display, leveraging and affirmation of conclusions (drawing conclusions and verification). The results of this study indicate that (1) there are three forms of fishermen's social networks, namely vertical social networks, vertical social networks and diagonal social networks (2) The ability of fishermen to build social networks is still quite low.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the active role of the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Takalar Regency, in supporting the process of the occurrence of Fisherman's Insurance that has been implemented by the central government, and to find out what factors hinder and support fishermen in obtaining Fisherman's Insurance cards. As for the determination of respondents using the Snowball technique or known as a snowball. Selected informants based on the criteria for receiving fisherman insurance cards as many as 25 informants as primary data sources. Data collection techniques are observation, distribution of questionnaires and interviews. This research was carried out in Sampulungan Village, Galesong District, Takalar Regency in March-May 2021. From the results of the research the socialization process planned and carried out by the Marine and Fisheries Service assisted by village officials was very effective in encouraging the enthusiasm of fishermen to obtain information and become insurance members fishermen, the supporting factors for implementing fisherman insurance consist of; High commitment from DKP Takalar Regency in realizing fishermen's insurance, enthusiasm of fishermen in obtaining information and being participants in fisherman insurance from the government, as well as high support from the village government in socializing and implementing fisherman insurance in Sampulungan Village. While the inhibiting factor is that there are still many fishermen who do not understand well the importance of being a member of fishermen's insurance; The existence of administrative data collection that has not been completed, including multiple lists, as well as the issue of validity of the fisherman's insurance card, which is only valid for one year, is considered short for fishermen.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the number and factors that influence fish consumption in Tamannyeleng Village, Barombong District, Gowa Regency. This research was conducted from June to July 2021 in Tamannyeleng Village, Barombong District, Gowa Regency.   The type of research used is a type of survey, which is research that takes samples from a population in the field and is used as basic data. The sampling technique used is non probability sampling. The technique of non-probability sampling is that each member of the population has zero chance. That is, sampling is based on certain criteria such as judgment, status, quantity, voluntariness and so on. The results of the study obtained were the amount of fish consumption before Covid-19 and after Covid-19 there was a difference. Before the existence of COVID-19, there were several who consumed fish as much as 0.5 kg per week, 1 kg per week, 2 kg per week and there were respondents who no longer consumed fish per week during Covid-19. It can be seen that the people of Tamannyeleng Village feel that during this Covid-19 period they are experiencing difficulties. Meanwhile, the factors that affect fish consumption of vulnerable people in Tamannyeleng Village, Barombong District, Gowa Regency consist of income, education, taste, number of family members, fish prices and fish substitution prices.
