Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak has had a serious impact on various aspects of life and so far no drugs and antivirals have been found to completely cure the outbreak. Covid-19 has also become a serious threat in the economic field, one of which is in the field of processing fishery products. This study aims to determine the resilience of MEMEs in processed fisheries before the pandemic and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Makassar City. The sample in this study were eight MSMEs processed fisheries in the city of Makassar which were selected by purposive sampling. Primary data collection was carried out by interview using the help of a questionnaire. The data that has been collected was analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study show that the adaptations or strategies adopted by MEMEs in processing fisheries in meeting their daily needs are grouped into three categories, namely: The first is an active strategy, namely carrying out various activities by self-employment. The second passive strategy is trying to avoid risks caused by non-economic shocks (e.g. reducing social costs, health, education, and surrendering to circumstances). Furthermore, the network strategy is for example establishing relationships to obtain assistance both informally and formally from other parties.

Abstract

The catfish wastewater is directly discharged into the environment, it will disrupt the lives of both humans and other organisms. This study aims to determine the amount of macronutrients nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium from catfish farming waste as liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) through the fermentation process at different times, and to determine the potential economic value, by determining the cost of production and selling price of waste products. Cultivation of catfish as LOF in Benteng Somba Opu Village, Barombong District, Gowa Regency. This research was carried out from February to April 2021. The potential economic value used a quantitative descriptive research method. The results of the study on catfish culture wastewater containing LOF also provide additional income for catfish cultivators. HPP based on research results is Rp. 19,000 /L. After calculating the cost of production, the potential profit for LOF from catfish farming waste in 1 liter is Rp. 3,400 /L, with a waste potential of 6,000 L / month, the economic potential value is Rp. 20.400.000,- with pool type permanent pool (L=3m, W =2 m, H=1,5m) and can still increase depending on the amount of catfish production in a month. RCR value of 1,24  that the LOF business is efficient and profitable to continue to operate. Although the potential is small, it is quite interesting for catfish cultivators to try.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the amount of macronutrient content of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium from catfish culture waste as liquid organic fertilizer (POC) through a fermentation process at different times. As well as knowing the potential economic value, by determining the cost of production and the selling price of catfish farming waste products as liquid organic fertilizer in Benteng Somba Opu Village, Barombong District, Gowa Regency. This research was carried out for three months, from February to April 2021. The fermentation process used a simple experimental research design method, while the potential economic value used a quantitative descriptive research method. The results of the study on catfish culture wastewater contained N, P and K. Macro nutrient levels of catfish manure containing N (nitrogen) ranged from 0.98 - 1.67%, P (phosphorus) 1.89 - 3.40 % and K (potassium) 0.10-1.03%. Apart from the content of macro-nutrient levels to improve macro-nutrients in the soil, POC also provides additional income for catfish cultivators. HPP based on research results is Rp. 19,000 / liter. Comparison of the price of poc in the market with liquid organic fertilizer that has been fermented by comparing 3 brands of poc on the market with the same size, namely 1 liter. The average profit potential of liquid organic fertilizer from catfish farming waste in a month (30 days) is Rp. 884,190, / Month, where the desired POC selling price ranges from Rp.47,500-Rp.52,000,-. Although the potential is small, it is quite interesting for catfish cultivators to try. This is in line with the increase in the production process of catfish cultivation, so additional income in the production of liquid organic fertilizer will also increase.
