Abstract

One of the Japanese work culture that is widely applied in many countries is 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Siso, Seiketsu and Shitsuke ). 5S not only practice in company activity but also in life activity. In company especially at manufacturing industry, 5S practice will produce qualified product. Although 5S culture easy to understand and simple, but it is need a consistency and very difficult to be applied. Therefore, practice of 5S especially 5S habituations not only practice in company but also in many educational institution for example school, university and orphanage.

Abstract

One of the fun methods in the process of learning and teaching Japanese  is story telling in the way Kamishibai. The person who displays kamishibai known as kamishibaiya. Kamishibai is a storytelling technique by combining images and storytelling. Characteristic of the Kamishibai method are the existence of a box containing various pictures and people who tell will draw the picture in accordance with the storyline. In the dedication for Society,  Japanese Literature Program of Cultural Sciences Faculty, Diponegoro University (FIB-UNDIP), the Japanese language teachers raised the Kamishibai method to be introduced and then applied in the environment of high school students. The event was conducted at FIB-UNDIP on October 14, 2017 with participants 20 Japanese language high school students whom residing in Semarang and other cities in Central Java. The aim of this event is to teach a new and more enjoyable method of learning Japanese that ultimately is able to improve the speaking skills and self-confidence of high school students in Japanese. In its execution, 1) Teachers provide explanations of introduction and information oabout Kamishibai's history in Japan. 2) Applying kamishibai by utilizing Kamishibai Theater so that students know the function and manner of use of Kamishibai Theater.3) Kamishibai Competition featuring all Students by choosing 1 of 2 themes (provided by teachers)  independently and 4) Evaluation. The result is the enthusiasm of the participants to show Kamishibai so high that it needs to be applied in the Japanese teaching and learning process

Abstract

Memiliki kemampuan berbahasa asing di era globalisasi seperti saat ini menjadi salah satu nilai tambah yang dibutuhkan oleh manusia. Salah satu bahasa asing yang banyak dipelajari selain bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa Jepang. Saat ini pembelajaran bahasa Jepang tidak hanya ada di tingkat Pendidikan tinggi, akan tetapi juga diajarkan di tingkat Pendidikan menengah. Tidak hanya di kelas, pembelajaran bahasa Jepang juga umum dilaksanakan pada kelompok belajar yang dibentuk oleh siswa. Dengan mempelajari bahasa Jepang, siswa tidak hanya memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Jepang, akan tetapi juga memiliki wawasan terkait budaya dan masyarakat Jepang. Pelatihan tematik, merupakan salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing, seperti bahasa Jepang. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat mempraktekkan langsung materi yang telah dipelajari dengan menggunakan tema terkait.

Abstract

(Title: Early Brainstorming With Origami For Children) The purpose of this paper is to uncover the usefulness of origami as an effective way of early brainstorming for children. The method used is to involve the children in the origami training activities as a form of community service. Training is not done in the usual way, but done principally on the four basic brainstorming guidelines so that the nature of the training is not up-bottom but bottom-up. This principle is not done strictly considering the participants are children. This means that mentor involvement is still needed to encourage participants to come up with ideas on how to fold the paper and shape it into the intended shape effectively and efficiently. The result of this training is origami can be an alternative way in improving creativity and courage of children in expressing ideas.

Abstract

Saat ini, permasalahan tentang lingkungan hidup masih merupakan topik yang banyak diangkat dan dibahas baik oleh para akademisi, maupun praktisi pecinta lingkungan. Tak dapat dipungkiri, masih banyak ditemukan problematika lingkungan yang kita temui di sekitar kita. Salah satu dari permasalahan lingkungan tersebut antara lain adalah pengelolaan sampah yang menyebabkan polusi baik udara, tanah maupun air. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ditujukan untuk memberikan edukasi tentang bagaimana upaya masyarakat Jepang dalam menjaga lingkungan hidup. Tentunya pemilihan Jepang sebagai negara acuan pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini didasari oleh kenyataan bahwa Jepang cukup berhasil dalam menjaga dan mengelola lingkungan agar tetap bersih dan asri. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini melibatkan siswa mulai dari SMA hingga tingkat universitas di wilayah Tembalang, Semarang.Kata kunci: lingkungan, pengelolaan sampah, 3R Currently, the issue of the environment is a topic that is widely raised and discussed by both academics and environmental practitioners. Undeniably, there are still many environmental problems that we encounter around us. One of these environmental problems is waste management which causes air, soil, and air pollution. This community service activity is intended to provide education about how the Japanese people are trying to protect the environment. The selection of Japan as the reference country in this community service activity is based on the fact that Japan is quite successful in maintaining and managing the environment to keep it clean and beautiful. This community service activity involves students from high school to university level in the Tembalang area, Semarang.Keywords: environment, Japan’s waste management, 3R

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan intisari dari hasil pengabdian yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif antara dosen dan mahasiswa. Pengabdian tersebut bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan kolaborasi dosen dan para mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan platform pembelajaran daring dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang bagi khalayak ramai yang memiliki minat terhadap bahasa Jepang dan budayanya.Pengabdian ini dilakukan setiap 1 minggu sekali selama 1 bulan dan dilakukan pada akhir pekan untuk memaksimalkan jumlah pembelajar daring. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara daring dan berkala yang pada pelaksanaannya memberikan tutorial pembelajaran langsung dan memberikan ruang interaksi seluas-luasnya antara peserta dan pelaksana pengabdian. Kegiatan dengan metode tersebut memberikan manfaat yang dapat membekali para peminat bahasa Jepang untuk mampu memahami metode penggunaan laman Minato yang cukup kompleks sehingga dapat dimaksimalkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang otodidak kedepannya.Kata Kunci: Minato; Bahasa Jepang; pengabdian kepada masyarakat; pembelajaran daring This article is the essence of the results of community service which is carried out collaboratively between lecturers and students. This service aims to maximize the collaboration of lecturers and students in utilizing online learning platforms in learning Japanese for the general public who have an interest in the Japanese language and its culture. This service is carried out once a week for 1 month and is carried out on weekends to maximize the number of online learners. The implementation method is carried out online and periodically which in its implementation provides direct learning tutorials and provides the widest possible interaction space between participants and service implementers. Activities with this method provide benefits that can equip Japanese language enthusiasts to be able to understand the method of using the Minato page which is quite complex so that it can be maximized in self-taught Japanese learning in the future.Keywords: Minato; Japanese language; community service; online learning
