Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of compliance of the ship’s crew toward The BWM Convention. (Ballast Water Management Convetion). This research is kind of qualitative using a research design that relates the independent variables and the dependent variable at the same time. The study was conducted in the Offshore Port of Taboneo with a total sample of 54 respondents. The research data is primary data from interview by using questioner and secondary data obtained from interview and literature study. The results showed that the Compliance of the crew on the ship that has been equipped with Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) is 66.67 % of respondents fall into the category approach to obedient and 33.33 % of respondents approach to non-obedient category. So also the compliance of crew on board ship that has not been equipped with BWTS there are as many as 60.61 % of respondents fall into the category approach to obedient and 39.39 % of respondents approach to non-obedient category.

Abstract

The formation of AMW is basically unavoidable in mining activities, AMW can be formed in pit and disposal area that are contaminated with potential acid forming material (PAF). The magnitude of the potential impact that AMW can have on mining activities certainly encourages every business actor to conduct a study on various preventive measures that are effectively implemented in AMW management, one of which is covering method. This thesis research aims to analyze the preventive covering method in the management of AMW and its effectiveness in meeting quality standards of liquid waste in coal mining activities. The Object of research is surface water that is in contact with covering treatment area (soil) which is also given additional treatment by planting cover crops and pioneer plants at OPD Sitarum. Surface water quality was tested in the laboratory with reference to BMLC standard of South Kalimantan Governor Regulation Number 36 of 2008. The results of the laboratory tests were then calculated for effectiveness and proved statistical analysis using normality test, homogeneity test, CRD test and DMRT to be able to conclude the effect of covering treatment in the management of AMW. The results showed that the application of covering method in OPD Sitarum was able to have a positive and significant effect on improving surface water quality. Where based on the results of laboratory tests, the SA4 and SA5 treatments have met the BMLC standard of the South Kalimantan Governor Regulation Number 36 of 2008. The laboratory results are strengthened by statistical data which shows that all treatment data are normally distributed and homogeneous, the results of CRD and DMRT analysis show the parameters of pH, TSS, and total-Fe was significantly different between SA2, SA3, SA4, and SA5 treatments against SA1 (control). Meanwhile, total-Mn parameter stated that SA2 and SA3 were not significantly different from the control, SA4 and SA5 were significantly different from the control. And for Cadmium (Cd) parameter, all treatments (SA2, SA3, SA4, and SA5) were not significantly different from the control. The conclusion of this research, the covering method applied in OPD Sitarum is considered effective in the management of AMW in a preventive manner. This is proven in SA4 treatment (covering + cover crop + Pioneer 1-2 years), where the results of the surface water quality test have met the BMLC standards of the South Kalimantan Governor Regulation Number 36 of 2008 with values: pH 6.95; TSS 159 mg L -1 ; total-Fe 1.93 mg L-1 ; total-Mn 0.031 mg L-1 ; and Cd 0.0045 mg L-1 . And the best covering treatment and effectiveness were found in SA5 treatment (covering + cover crop + 3-4 years pioneer plant) with values: pH 6.67; TSS 76.5 mg L-1 (97.22%); totalFe 1.13 mg L-1 (88.71%); total-Mn 0.019 mg L-1 (87.58%); and Cd 0.0058 mg L-1 (8.00%).

Abstract

Many studies showed  that rivers in Indonesia had been polluted. This is due to the large number of human activities, both from industrial, domestic, and agricultural waste. Kampung Sasirangan is one of the settlements located on the bank of  Martapura River. The existence of industrial activities from sasirangan waste water and the large number of people deficating and throwing the garbage in the river causes water pollution. Good perceptions and good behavior is expected to increase community participation in river conservation. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions and behavior of the community regarding pollution that occurs in the Martapura River and to determine alternative strategies to control water pollution of Martapura River. Data was collected by questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The sample of respondents in this study used Slovin formula, amounted  100 respondents. This research use descriptive qualitative anaylisis. The results of this study show that most respondents have a poor perception of water pollution. Therefore, a strategy is needed that can make positive perceptions so that community behavior cares about environmental sustainability, that is education, wastewater treatmant plan, legislation, monitoring, and encouragement of public figure

Abstract

Pantai Asmara, Desa Muara Asam-asam Kabupaten Tanah Laut mulai dikembangkan sebagai obyek wisata alam sejak tahun 2016 oleh Pokdarwis Pantai Asmara. Pantai Asmara dengan segala keindahannya terus dibenahi dan dilengkapi segala fasilitasnya untuk lebih meningkatkan minat wsiatawan untuk berkunjung. Namun, pengembangan wisata Pantai Asmara masih memiliki keterbatasan pada aspek promosi, dimana kegiatan promosi belum terkelola dengan baik intensitas promosi yang masih sedikit. Oleh sebab itu, informasi yang diperoleh wisatawan cukup terbatas dan cenderung parsial. Tujuan PKM ini adalah (1) memberikan penyuluhan tentang jenis materi (konten) promosi, tata letak, dan akun media sosial; (2) memberikan pelatihan teknis penyusunan konten promosi berbasis media sosial. Metode kegiatan PKM yang diterapkan adalah (1) penyuluhan dan diskusi; (2) pelatihan dan pendampingan; dan (3) evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan telah memberikan perubahan sikap dan pengetahuan khalayak sasaran (kelompok mitra) terhadap pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai sarana promosi wisata Pantai Asmara dari kurang menjadi cukup banyak mengetahui. Proses adopsi dan difusi iptek promosi produk jasa wisata oleh anggota kelompok mitra ke anggota masyarakat lainnya sudah tergolong cukup (bernilai 60 – 80 dengan rata-rata 68). Pokdarwis Pantai Asmara telah mampu mempersiapkan dan menyusun konten akun promosi produk jasa dalam format sederhana sesuai pengetahuan dan kemampuan kelompok.

Abstract

The research investigated the occurrences of heavy metal (Pb, Cu, and Cd) in waters, sediments, and wild shrimps collected from the Barito River estuary. Water and sediment samples were collected from 11 study sites by purposive sampling. At the same time, shrimps samples were captured around the sites. The study showed low levels of heavy metals in water samples; those were: Cd<0.0019 mg/L, Cu<0.001 mg/L, and Pb<0.0019 mg/L. Low levels of heavy metals were also detected in sediment samples, those were Cd <0.24 mg/kg, Cu <0.013-0.69 mg/kg, and Pb<0.024 mg/kg. Heavy metals contaminations were detected in Parapenaeopsis sculptilis, those were Cd = 2.802 mg/kg; Cu = 3.399 mg/kg, and Pb = 1.294 mg/kg. In Acetes japonicus, the heavy metals concentration were Cd = 2.127 mg./kg, Cu = 5.518 mg/ kg, and Pb = 2.723 mg/kg. In Penaeus merguiensi, the heavy metals concentrations were Cd = 8.598 mg/kg, Cu = 6.403 mg/kg, and Pb = 5.433 mg/kg. This study indicated the increases of heavy metals concentrations from water to sediment and finally into the shrimps. The presence of heavy metals in shrimps indicated the bioaccumulation of toxic metals, especially for Pb and Cd concentrations which exceeded the tolerable limit according to JECFA.

Abstract

The presence of mining companies is expected to bring benefits and prosperity to the surrounding community. Angsana District, Tanah Bumbu Regency has several coal mining companies operating. The intent of research is to know the existing social, economic and cultural conditions of the community around coal mining. The research method is statistical test calculation method and interactive model (Miles and Hubermen). Sampling and Observation through data collection using interviews and documentation with observations in Angsana District, on Ring I, Ring II and Ring III of the research area. Result : Ring III community income level is higher than Ring I and Ring II, social conditions have a relatively positive and negative impact, cultural conditions have little influence. The conclusion is that the existing social, economic and cultural conditions around coal mining in Angsana District have increased.

Abstract

Kampung Sasirangan adalah salah satu pemukiman warga yang berada di pinggiran Sungai Martapura. Masyarakat umumnya memanfaatkan air sungai untuk kegiatan aktivitas rumah tangga sehari-hari. Adanya aktivitas masyarakat di pinggir sungai, baik kegiatan sehari-hari maupun kegiatan industri tekstil menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kualitas air. Berdasarkan data sepuluh penyakit terbanyak di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Sungai Mesa tahun 2017, jumlah penyakit yang berhubungan dengan kulit merupakan salah satu penyakit terbanyak dengan jumlah 865 kasus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan pola perilaku masyarakat dengan kejadian keluhan penyakit kulit. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini melalui kuisioner, observasi, uji laboratorium, dan wawancara. Sampel responden dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rumus Slovin, yaitu sebanyak 100 responden. Analisis data bivariat yang digunakan adalah chi-square dan analisis multivariat yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan pola perilaku masyarakat yang memiliki hubungan yang nyata dengan kejadian penyakit kulit adalah mandi di sungai (p-value 0,025), lama kontak (p-value 0,02), dan frekuensi kontak (p-value 0,001). Sedangkan untuk pola perilaku masyarakat yang lain, yaitu cuci pakaian di sungai dan kebiasaan buang air besar di sungai tidak memiliki hubungan yang nyata dengan kejadian penyakit kulit yang dialami oleh masyarakat.
