Abstract

Technology is an integrated presence between science and machines. Information technology in nursing includes knowledge, attitudes and skills. These three things are needed by a health care profession in their daily work. The ability of nurses to use nursing technology is a form of caring. Nurse caring behavior is very important in fulfilling patient satisfaction, therefore students' understanding of technology as a form of caring in nursing needs to be instilled since the period of education. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the technological skill competency in nursing and caring of nursing profession students. The research method used in this study is correlation analytic with cross sectional approach. Questionnaire was utilized to gather the needed data and information. The subjects of this study were 90 nursing students, total sampling was applied to gained participants. Respondents met the inclusion criteria, namely studying at STIKes in the Surabaya region, being willing to be respondents, and graduating a bachelor's degree in nursing, a maximum of one year before continuing to Ners profession student. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the ability to use technology (medical devices) and caring of Ners professional students (p = 0.000; r = 0.630. There was a significant relationship between the ability to use technology (Information and Communication Technology) and caring (p = 0.000; r = 0.469). The ability to use technology makes nurses understand the patient as a whole or holistic human. If the nurse understands the patient completely then he will understand all aspects of the patient as a unique person, this will help patients to develop and accelerate the healing process. The ability of nurses to use technology is an expression of caring in nursing, where caring and technology are an integral part. Technology plays an important role in health care, technology is used to improve patient safety, save lives patient and support nurses in their job. Teaching caring from the time of education is very important because this is the first stage for nursing students to learn the value and meaning of the nursing profession.

Abstract

Problems with the elderly in RW 02 Kedungdoro Village Surabaya, out of 256 elderly, 35 elderly (13.7%) suffer from diabetes mellitus. Most of the elderly have never checked their blood sugar levels, rarely do sports activities and have a habit of eating foods that contain more carbohydrates. The purpose of this community service is to provide training on how to prevent Diabetes Mellitus for the elderly in RW 02, Kedungdoro Village, Tegalsari District. The target of the activity is the elderly in RW 02, Kedungdoro Village, Tegalsari District, Surabaya, totaling 65 people. The activity was held on November 27 2022. Activities included health education about DM, practicing DM exercises, and monitoring blood sugar levels. This community service activity can be carried out properly. The elderly were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest evaluations, there was an increase in knowledge about DM. The results of random blood sugar levels averaged 131.7 mg/dl. There were 6 elderly people whose random blood sugar levels were >200 mg/dl. Elderly people with high blood sugar levels feel grateful because they know their condition immediately and will carry out further examinations at the Puskesmas. This community service activity needs to be carried out on an ongoing basis with the DM exercise program and monitoring blood sugar levels through the Elderly Posyandu activity

Abstract

Dosen sebagai fasilitator dalam proses pendidikan memiliki peran yang sangatpenting dalam proses pembelajaran IPE. Sikap dan penerimaan mahasiswa terhadapprofesi lain maupun proses IPE dipengaruhi oleh pemahaman dosen dalam memfasilitasipelaksanaan IPE. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi dosen mengenaiinterprofessional education. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Populasipenelitian dosen tetap STIKES Katolik St. Vincentius a Paulo Surabaya yang memenuhikriteria inklusi yaitu sebanyak 20 responden. Instrument yang digunakan adalah kuisioneryang mengacu pada Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (IEPS). Berdasarkananalisis statistik didapatkan hasil persepsi dosen tentang IPE; Pada komponen buktibekerjasama memiliki nilai mean tertinggi yaitu 4,45; Persepsi kebutuhan untukbekerjasama memiliki nilai mean 4.20; Kompetensi dan otonomi memiliki nilai mean4.13; Pemahaman terhadap profesi lain memiliki nilai mean 3,39. Hasil tersebutmenunjukan bahwa rata-rata dosen memiliki persepsi yang baik terkait dengan IPE.Penerapan IPE dalam proses pembelajaran penting sehingga dapat meningkatkanpemahaman mahasiswa dalam fungsi kolaborasi sehingga pada akhirnya dapatmeningkatkan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan.

Abstract

Gadget merupakan salah satu bentuk dari perkembangan teknologi pada masa ini. Gadget membawa dampak positif dengan memberikan berbagai kemudahan, tetapi juga membawa dampak negative. Keadaan ini berpengaruh pada pola kehidupan manusia baik dari segi pola pikir maupun perilaku. Pada remaja, keterikatan pada gadget dapat menyebabkan remaja kurang peka terhadap lingkungan sekitarnya dan akan mengganggu dalam bersosialisasi. Remaja mempunyai sifat yang khas yaitu rasa ingin tahu, menyukai tantangan dan berani menanggung risiko tanpa mempetimbangkan dengan benar. Upaya untuk meningkatakan pengetahuan remaja tentang dampak positif dan dampak negative dalam penggunaan gadget perlu dilakukan agar remajaa mempunyai kesadaran daalam menggunakan gadget secara benar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan terhadap pengetahuan tentang dampak gadget terhadap kesehatan remaja di salah satu paroki di kota Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pra-eksperimental one-grup pra-post test design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah remaja dan warga usia dewasa di salah satu paroki di kota Surabaya yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling, jumlah responden 40 orang. Variabel bebas penelitian adalah pendidikan kesehatan dan variabel terikat adalah pengetahuan tentang dampak gadget terhadap kesehatan remaja. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuisioner pengetahuan. Pada hasil penelitian, sesudah dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan didapatkan 20% responden memiliki pengetahuan sedang dan 80% responden memiliki pengetahuan tinggi. Hasil analisis Wilcoxon Signed Ranks menunjukan adanya pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan terhadap pengetahuan tentang dampak gadget terhadap kesehatan remaja (p= 0,001). Pendidikan kesehatan yang diberikan menggunakan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab sehingga membuat responden dapat menyampaikan pendapat maupun bertanya tentang hal yang kurang dimengerti

Abstract

The behavior of nurses in giving drugs to patients must be in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures (SPO) so that patients are safe from drug-administration errors. There is still a lack of knowledge of nurses about the 12 correct principles of giving drugs to patients, not double checking with other nurses when giving drugs and there are still nurses who do not wait for patients to take their drugs and leave drugs on the patient's table. This study aims to identify the compliance of nurses in implementing the 12 correct principles of drug administration. This research design uses a descriptive study. The number of samples was 40 implementing nurses who were selected using simple random sampling. The measuring instrument used is a knowledge and compliance questionnaire of nurses about the twelve correct principles of drug administration. Data were analyzed using Descriptive Statistical Proportion Percentage Analysis (ASDPP). The results showed that most of the more than 50% (65%) of the respondents had an obedient attitude. Nurses more often do double checks before giving drugs. The Head of the Division of Nursing can provide updates on the 12 correct principles of drug administration.

Abstract

Teenagers are vulnerable to experiencing stress due to various factors. The study aimed to identify the influence of coping mechanisms on stress among high school teenagers. This research was conducted at Frateran Catholic High School in Surabaya in October to January 2023. This research was a prospective study where the measurement of coping mechanisms and stress was carried out twice. The research sample was 46 teenagers in high schools in Surabaya using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection on coping mechanisms used the BriefCOPE instrument, and stress measurement used the perceived stress scale (PSS10). Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation statistical analysis and linear regression tests. There is a relationship between coping mechanisms and adolescent stress in measurement 1(p= 0.000; correlation coefficient ρ= -0.37), The correlation between coping mechanisms and stress scores in measurement 2 (p=0.02; Correlation coefficient (ρ)=-0 .34) with the degree of strength of the relationship being weak and the direction of the relationship being negative, meaning that the better the coping mechanisms, the lower the adolescent stress score. The regression test between coping mechanisms at measurement 1 and stress scores at time 2 shows R square value of 0.017, meaning 1.7% of adolescent stress is determined by coping mechanisms, other factors determine the rest. In conclusion, there was a relationship between coping mechanisms and adolescent stress in measuring the degree of strength of weak relationships and the direction of negative relationships. Recommendation for further research is to explore the role of social support on adolescent stress.
