Abstract

This study aims to investigate: (1) the difference of ability to recognize the concept of numbers between children taught by Make a Match learning model based on creativity and children taught by Make a Match learning model; (2) the difference of ability to recognize the concept of numbers between children who have high cognitive abilities and low cognitive abilities, and (3) the interaction between Make a Match learning model with children's cognitive abilities on the ability to recognize concepts. The sample in this study is 28 children in class B1 for the experimental class who are taught by Make a Match based on creativity and for the control class, class B2 consisted of 28 children who were taught by Make a Match.  They are 5-6 years old children  at Raudhatul Athfal Mutiara Bunda Banda Aceh. The results show that: (1) The ability of children who taught by Make a Match learning model based on creativity  is 44.96, it is higher than children who taught by Make A Match learning, it is  34.64, (2) The ability to recognize the number concept of children who have high cognitive abilities obtained an average value of = 46.89, while children who have low cognitive abilities obtained an average value of = 33.21,  and (3) The results show that there was no significant interaction between the use of learning and children's cognitive abilities (high and low) in influencing the ability to recognize the concept of numbers.

Abstract

This research is grounded from the teaching materials which tend to be teacher-centered. Students only listen to what is said by the teacher. This study aims to: (1) develop Bhineka Tunggal Ika teaching materials by integrating effective character education; (2) apply Bhineka Tunggal Ika teaching materials with the integration of character education to improve student learning outcomes using the contextual learning approach. Subjects in this study are students of Class six at state primary school in Medan. The objects in this study are modules developed by Class 6a and 6b respectively 36 students of state primary school in Medan. Data collection instruments used consisted of test learning outcomes and observation of the teacher's ability to manage learning, student character questionnaires and student response questionnaires. The results show that the effectiveness of the product development tools in the application of the development model of Bhineka Tunggal Ika with the integration of character education using contextual learning. Student learning outcomes after the development of Bhineka Tunggal Ika teaching materials with the integration of character education using contextual learning can be seen from the results of student work in completing the given tests, it can be seen that the classical completeness analysis results have reached 94.44%.

Abstract

The problem in this study is that teachers still have difficulty assessing children's creativity, so the aim of this study is to develop a computer-based assessment instrument for the creativity portfolio of kindergarten children. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model through 5 stages, namely: analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Subjects in this study consisted of 3 teachers in Group A TK ABA 05 Medan. Then 6 validation experts who have the appropriate knowledge of this development research, among others: a) 2 assessment experts, b) 2 computer experts, c) 2 early childhood experts.  The determination of the feasibility level of the portfolio assessment instrument is based on the validation test of the experts, while the level of effectiveness of the portfolio assessment instrument is based on trials for teachers through teacher response questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the assessment of the assessment expert validator I in this category was considered very valid with a percentage of 83% which means that it is very suitable for use and the second assessment expert in the category is considered very valid with a percentage of 83% which means very suitable for use. Then the computer expert I in the category is considered valid with a percentage of 81% which means it is suitable for use and the computer expert II in the category is considered very valid with a percentage of 86% which means very suitable for use. Furthermore, early childhood expert I in the very valid category with a percentage of 93% which means that it is very suitable for use and early childhood expert II in the category is considered valid with a percentage of 73% which means it is suitable for use. The results of the teacher response questionnaire on portfolio assessment using a gain score test with a value of 0.74 and can be categorized as high effectiveness, this indicates that the use of portfolio assessment instruments has been effectively used by TK ABA 05 Medan teachers.

Abstract

Development of Interactive Learning Multimedia Learning Beginning for early childhood (5-6 years) in Christian Kindergarten 3 District Medan Kota, Medan City. Postgraduate Basic Education Study Program, State University of Medan. The purpose of this research and development was to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of interactive learning multimedia for early childhood reading in Group B TK Nasrani 3, Medan Kota District, and Medan City. The development model in this study refers to the 4D (Four-D) researches and development model which consists of 4 main stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subjects in this study were 3 expert validators and 20 students of Group B TK Nasrani 3 Medan. The product of this research is a multimedia interactive learning software product on the material of celestial objects for group B students TK Nasrani 3 Medan. The results showed that (1) the feasibility level of interactive multimedia learning pre-reading based on: a) the validation results of the material experts on the feasibility of content by instructional media experts by 3.6, learning material experts by 3.7, while design experts 3.5 in the category with " very worthy ”. b) The practical results of the teacher state that children get very good responses and responses. This can happen because the steps loaded in multimedia learning have instructions and are easily understood by children. 2) the results of the effectiveness of interactive learning multimedia that were developed showed the average result of reading the beginning of the child on the results of initial observations was 45%, which means the child began to develop and the result of the final observation was 83%, which means that the child developed very well.
