Abstract

Kapal ikan di pelabuhan Puger terdiri dari beberapa jenis, salah satunya adalah kapal ikan bercadik. Bentuk dan bahan dari kapal ikan bercadik di Puger hanya terbuat dari bambu, sehingga perlu adanya pengembangan bentuk cadik bambu menjadi bentuk cadik semi-circular untuk menambah kualitas hidrodinamika yang lebih baik. Bentuk pengembangan kapal ikan harus sesuai dengan kondisi di Perairan Puger dan harus memenuhi kapasitas dari faktor keamaaan dan hidrodinamika dari kapal ikan bercadik di Perairan Puger Jember. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan analisa gerak (seakeeping) dari kapal ikan bercadik. Analisa gerak (seakeeping) kapal ikan bercadik tersebut u ntuk mengetahui kemampuan kapal bertahan dalam kondisi berbahaya saat beroperasi. Kemudian, dari analisa seakeeping dari kapal ikan bercadik semi-circular dapat diketahui peforma dari pengembangan kapal ikan bercadik semi-circular dengan mengadaptasi ukuran utama dari kapal ikan yang telah ada di Puger. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan pengukuran langsung dimensi utama dari bentuk body dari kapal ikan di perairan Puger Jember. Selanjutnya hasil pengukuran tersebut digambar kembali dengan mengganti bentuk cadik menjadi bentuk cadik semi-circular, dan kemudian dilakukan evaluasi seakeeping kapal ikan bercadik semi-circular. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi seakeeping kapal memiliki kriteria gerakan heave, pitch, dan roll yang lebih baik dan sesuai dengan kondisi perairan di Puger.

Abstract

The fishing boats used by fishermen on Puger Beach generally still use traditional wooden fishing boats, which were modified from the previous boat design. But over time, the availability of wood decreases. So it is necessary to have alternative basic materials for the manufacture of fishing vessels. An alternative that can replace wood as the basic material for making fishing boats in Puger is fiberglass. Fishing vessels in Puger have varied sizes so it is necessary to analyze the optimum vessel size to operate in Puger. In maintaining ship safety and shipworthiness, a comparison between several parameters of existing fishing vessels is needed. By using the optimization method and then analyzed so that the optimal ship size parameters are obtained. So the optimization results from the ship model in Puger are for a length (L) of 15.57 m, a width (B) of 4.34 m, a ship's height (H) of 1.49 m, and a ship's draft (T) of 0.56 m. From the optimal size of the vessel, then a drawing of the shape of the hull of a fishing vessel made of fiberglass is carried out. The evaluation carried out is the ship's performance such as resistance, stability, and ship seakeeping. So that in determining the shape of the hull which has the characteristics of resistance, stability, and good seakeeping, the ship is in accordance with Puger. So that it can improve and increase the performance of the fishing boats with the aim of the results of this study being to provide recommendations for improving the design of traditional fishing boats in the waters of Puger, Jember Regency

Abstract

Catfish is one of the freshwater fish whose demand is increasing every year, both in the form of fresh fish and processed foods. This increase in demand along with the ease of maintenance has made catfish a cultivated commodity that is widely eyed by fish farmers. One of the important aspects in fish farming is the provision of fish feed, although it is relatively easy, but feed management is needed to increase fish production targets. The fish feeding method mostly uses manual sowing on the surface of the pond. This method has weaknesses in terms of labor requirements and the time required if catfish farmers have many ponds, especially if the breeders forget the schedule for fish feeding. The method of implementing this community service consists of socializing activities, presenting material, directing the steps for making automatic fish feeding tools, tool making practices, tool testing and evaluation. The manufacture of this automatic fish feed tool generally consists of making the body of the tool and the assembly of the timer module components. This activity was attended by 20 people who are members of the SYSGA group in Sumbersari District, a community group engaged in catfish farming. The activity went smoothly, the participants seemed enthusiastic during the activity. Further monitoring is needed to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of catfish production by breeders after the use of automatic fish feed equipment.

Abstract

Secara umum, kapal ikan tradisional digunakan oleh nelayan di Indonesia dalam berlayar untuk menangkap ikan terutama nelayan di Kecamatan Puger, Jember. Pengrajin kapal ikan tradisional di Puger pada dasarnya hanya memodifikasi dari desain kapal sebelumnya dengan dasar keterampilan yang didapatkan dari turun-temurun pendahulunya. Karena kapal ikan tradisional di Puger tidak melalui proses formal dalam pembangunan kapal, maka diperlukan studi karakteristik hidrodinamika kapal ikan tradisional. Studi karakteristik hidrodinamika kapal ikan tradisional ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan kapal bertahan dalam kondisi berbahaya saat beroperasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan mengukur secara langsung dimensi utama dan mengukur bentuk body dari tiga kapal ikan tradisional di perairan Puger Jember. Selanjutnya hasil pengukuran tersebut digambar kembali, dan kemudian dilakukan evaluasi resistance dan seakeeping kapal ikan tradisional Puger Jember. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi resistance dengan berbagai variasi kecepatan, kapal ikan tradisional di Puger Jember dengan lambung berbentuk lebih gemuk memiliki resistance yang lebih besar. Kemudian, dari evaluasi seakeeping ketiga kapal memiliki kriteria gerakan heave, pitch, dan roll yang berbeda-beda sesuai dengan bentuk body kapal.

Abstract

Banyuwangi has quite a lot of coastal areas. However, the negative impact of many coastal areas is that garbage is generally disposed of in the waters starting from the river which will eventually empty into the sea or directly dumped into the open sea. The mindset of Indonesian people including Banyuwangi residents who consider the sea as a garbage dump has not changed much. Santen island is one of the beaches in Banyuwangi with less waste management. As a solution to these problems, socialization is needed to increase awareness to the community and provide training to the community in handling organic waste. Socialization and training conducted is the utilization of organic waste as Eco-Enzyme with partners are coastal women. Eco-Enzyme is. This PkM implementation method consists of five stages, namely Pre-activity, presentation, Breefing training, training, and Evaluation and closing. Participants who attended this activity were 23 women of various ages. On the day of the training, the participants had prepared all the materials, then the organizing team divided the participants into 4 groups. For the ratio of ingredients for making this eco-enzyme is 1: 3: 10, where 1 is for sugar in grams, 3 is for fruit skin or vegetable scraps in grams, and 10 is water in mL. The socialization of the material on the first day increased participants' awareness of the importance of waste management and participants' enthusiasm in making eco-enzymes. Each participant in each group made eco-enzyme according to the instructions from the presenter.After three months, the participants were able to use Eco-Enzyme products as glass cleaners, toilet cleaners and bathrooms, while the pulp became fertilizer for ornamental plants in their homes.

Abstract

Puger is one of the areas in Jember Regency whose main commodity comes from the sea. Fishermen need means of transportation to support them in catching fish in the sea. Puger District is also famous for its beaches and is the largest fish producer in Jember Regency. Therefore, fishing boats needed that have good performance following the characteristics of Puger waters. Puger waters have a strong trend mark with high sea currents and waves. Jukung boats are ships that are often used by fishermen in Puger. However, the process of making Jukung boats still uses conventional methods, which rely on knowledge/experience from their ancestors. The basis for making Jukung ships is mostly still not the correct procedures such as designing main dimensions, designs, and others. The impact of this affects the level of optimization of the feasibility of fishing vessels. Based on this, further studies are needed to evaluate the stability of the Jukung. This evaluation expected to be a reference regarding the level of security and comfort of the Jukung boat for the safety of the fishermen. The method used in evaluating stability is using the Krylov method. Based on the test results obtained stability are positive. so that the ship has the ability to be able to return to the even keel position after a trim/heel.

Abstract

Science is a system obtained through the scientific method of research. The application of scientific knowledge can be found in various fields such as agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, and technology. The development of scientific knowledge in various fields is the role of the academic community. Community service is one of the three main duties of higher education institutions. Community service activities are carried out by conducting visits to Jember Lor 01 Public Elementary School in order to enhance young generations' knowledge of science through primary schools. The method used in community service is practice experience, which is a learning process that provides practical experiences to facilitate students' understanding of the subject matter. The practices conducted include telekinetic and lava lamp experiments using easily accessible materials. The practices are done in groups and accompanied by one person from the community service team. Based on the enthusiasm of the participants, this activity has been very beneficial in increasing the interest in learning about science from an early age. The synchronization of this community service activity with the natural science subjects is necessary to help students understand the theoretical lessons taught by teachers.
