Abstract

Though code switching research may vary from context to context and situation to situation, thecommon factors for code switching will be threefold. That is, code switching deals withlanguages in contact. In interactive social situations code switching will be the use of more thanone language. For example the interaction during various social events involving interlocutorswho know more than one language. Gumperz (1982) while discussing the communicativefunction of code switching, claims that the speaker plays upon the connection of the we-code tocreate conversational effect. Thus code switching is seen as fulfilling the relational andreferential functions of language that amounts to effective communication and interlingua unity.As an increasing number of children enter the school, districts are faced with meeting theiracademic needs. These children enter into the classroom with varying language (mothertongue). Some schools have adopted bilingual education programs, teaching subject matter inIndonesian and English. Others believe in immersion, or placing the students in mainstreamclassrooms in which they are expected to learn the English language and subject matter taughtin English simultaneously. Still other schools hover somewhere in between, striving to find thebest way to reach these children/students. What factors can affect/force students to use codeswitching in their discourse? What are the benefits of code switching for L2 children/student?What are the communicative functions of codes switching? These questions are the debate ofbilingual education throughout the country. In this study, explore the effects of difference typesof education such as bilingual education. Specifically, this paper discuss of the role of codeswitching (the use of both Indonesia/Sasak and English within the same discourse) in bilingualsettings.Key words: Communicative function, Code switching, bilingual and multilingual.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the form of attachment of Awig-awig, the fishing community of Lungkak village to the use of natural resources. The method used is descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research is the fishing community of Lungkak village. The results showed that the Awig-awig of the Lungkak community had an attachment in terms of life as a fisherman with local rules or customary rules that were made on the basis of the togetherness of the Lungkak community with people outside the Lungkak hamlet area, the form of attachment Awig-awig was in consultation with the people around the village. Outer Cape. The conclusion of the study shows that the role of Awig-awig in lungkak fishermen is something that has become a separate entity in the lifestyle of lungkak fishermen from time to time which is always used as a standard of living for lungkak fishermen. Abstract

This study aims to, a) determine the performance of female village heads and village heads in carrying out their duties; b) to find out the perceptions of leaders, village staff, and the community of three villages and one sub-district in East Lombok Regency regarding the performance of female village heads and village heads; c) to find out the challenges and obstacles faced in carrying out their leadership. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach located in four locations in East Lombok Regency. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Test the validity of the data by deepening observations, in-depth interviews, and triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the female village head is good, responsible discipline, and never procrastinated on her duties. And the distribution of development is continuously carried out by the programs that have been implemented. This was acknowledged by village staff and communities in three villages in East Lombok Regency. The community's perception of the performance of the female village head/lurah is that the performance of the female village head/lurah is quite good when compared to the performance of the male village head/lurah. Female village heads have high participation, often provide examples, and invite the community to work together and make the village they lead more advanced. The challenges and obstacles faced by female village heads are when taking care of their household. In conclusion, the performance of female village heads in East Lombok Regency is considered to be good, responsible, and disciplined. Public perception is quite good. The challenge in addition to being a leader in her village is also being a housewife who has to be able to divide her time between household work and her official work. Abstract

This research is intended to describe the forms of Sasak language speech levels, with sub-focus, the domains of the Sasak Alus language (Base Alus) use in the Rarang Tengah community, the extent of the community concern in using and maintaining Sasak Alus language (Base Alus) at the Rarang Tengah community and the factors the lack of using Sasak Alus language (Base Alus) at Rarang Tengah community and the contexts that determine the usage of each. The data sources in this research are the community of Rarang Tengah community, namely children and parents living at Rarang Tengah community, Terara sub-district, East Lombok regency, NTB. This research method is qualitative; there are three steps applied: data collecting, data analysis, and result presentation. The results of this research indicate that there are three types of Sasak speech levels, namely, Bahasa Sasak Jamaq (ordinary), Bahasa Sasak Alus Madya (medium), and Bahasa Sasak Alus Utama (high). Several factors have affected the unfavorable use of Sasak speech levels in Rarang Tengah community. First, the environmental aspect is not conducive enough for people to use, hear, and practice the honorific Sasak Alus lexicon.  This is due to the assumption that Speech levels belong only to the Bangsawan aristocrat family members. Second, the number of noblemen's family members who use this variety is also decreasing. Third, the widespread use of Bahasa Indonesia in almost every domain of language use cannot be avoided to influence the young generation to communicate in it wherever possible. And fourth, the lack of will of children and lack of parents in controlling the children's communication last is the influence of electronic media and globalization Keywords: Speech Level, Sasak Language, Sasak Culture Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk tingkat tutur bahasa Sasak, dengan sub fokus, domain penggunaan bahasa Sasak Alus (Base Alus) pada masyarakat Rarang Tengah, sejauh mana kepedulian masyarakat dalam menggunakan dan memelihara bahasa Sasak Alus (Base Alus) pada masyarakat Rarang Tengah dan faktor-faktor kurangnya penggunaan bahasa Sasak Alus (Base Alus) pada masyarakat Rarang Tengah dan konteks yang menentukan penggunaan masing-masing. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Desa Rarang Tengah yaitu anak-anak dan orang tua yang tinggal di Desa Rarang Tengah, Kecamatan Terara, Kabupaten Lombok Timur, NTB. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, ada tiga langkah yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini; pengumpulan data, analisis data, dan penyajian hasil. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga jenis tingkat tutur Sasak, yaitu Bahasa Sasak Jamaq (biasa), Bahasa Sasak Alus Madya (sedang), dan Bahasa Sasak Alus Utama (tinggi). Terdapat beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan tingkat tutur bahasa Sasak yang kurang baik pada masyarakat Rarang Tengah. Pertama, faktor lingkungan yang kurang kondusif sehingga masyarakat dapat menggunakan, mendengar, dan mengamalkan leksikon kehormatan Sasak Alus. Hal ini disebabkan adanya anggapan bahwa tingkat tutur hanya dimiliki oleh anggota keluarga bangsawan Bangsawan. Kedua, jumlah anggota keluarga bangsawan yang menggunakan varietas ini juga semakin berkurang. Ketiga, maraknya penggunaan bahasa Indonesia di hampir setiap ranah penggunaan bahasa tidak dapat dihindari untuk mempengaruhi generasi muda untuk berkomunikasi di dalamnya sedapat mungkin. Dan keempat, kurangnya kemauan anak dan kurangnya orang tua dalam mengontrol komunikasi anak, dan terakhir adalah pengaruh media elektronik dan globalisasi. Abstract

In this era 4.0, students are required to have high-level thinking skills, which are better known as Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). HOTS is the ability to think critically, logically, reflectively, metacognitively, and creatively to be able to solve the problems at hand. Globalization has brought its own changes and challenges in various fields including the field of Education. The learning program designed must be in line with 21st century education which requires graduates to be competent with a number of required skills. The purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) through the Higher Order Thinking Skill approach was able to improve students' speaking skill at Gunung Rinjani University, and to find out how the HOTS-based PjBL process in public speaking courses. The participants in this study were 5th semester students in the Public Speaking subject of the English Education Study Program. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Researchers used 3 data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study showed positive responses by students regarding the implementation of PjBL through the HOTS approach, and were able to improve students' speaking skills and improve 21st century skills, namely critical thinking, creative, and able to solve problems, able to use technology media, and able to work together. In implementing PjBL using the HOTS approach, there are 4 steps that the lecturers implement, namely; preparation, implementation, development, and presentation.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to 1) explore policies related to the Pancasila Student Profile Program so that it has an impact on the decline in the number of child marriages in East Lombok district, 2) to observe the achievements of the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile on changes in children's behavior so that it has an impact on reducing the number of child marriages in Indonesia. East Lombok district, and 3) to formulate alternative solutions to the problem of preventing child marriage through educational institutions in schools, especially the driving school in East Lombok district. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The conclusions generated from this study regarding the analysis of the impact of the application of the Pancasila student profile for the prevention of child marriage in East Lombok district, are as follows: 1) Policies on preventing child marriage in East Lombok district still have not touched education, as a whole, such as school programs, curriculum of the education unit; 2) Strengthening the profile of Pancasila students needs to be carried out in schools in order to change the focus of students from negative activities, thus causing students to fall into child marriage; 3) Strengthening the profile of Pancasila students, as an alternative to create students who think critically so that they are able to filter information that child marriage is the root of social problems in the region; 4) The profile of Pancasila students must have the support of a learning environment so that students are more independent, so that marriage is not just a matter of hoping for a partner, but also there must be a spirit of independence in order to realize the values ​​of gotong royong after adulthood; 5) The Pancasila student profile program is a solution to children's problems, especially child marriage: this study suggests, 1) The need for policies that touch the roots of social problems in East Lombok district; 2) The need to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students through the curriculum of the Education unit.. Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) mengeksplor kebijakan terkait dengan Program Profil Pelajar Pancasila sehingga berdampak terhadap menurunnya angka perkawinan anak di kabupaten Lombok Timur, 2) untuk mengamati capaian dari implementasi Profil Pelajar Pancasila terhadap perubahan perilaku anak sehingga berdampak terhadap pengurangan angka perkawinan anak di kabupaten Lombok Timur, dan 3), untuk merumuskan altiernatif pemecahan masalah terhadap pencegahan angka perkawinan anak melalui pendekatan lembaga pendidikan di Sekolah, khusunya sekolah Penggerak di Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun kesimpulan yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini tentang analisis dampak penerapan profil pelajar Pancasila untuk pencegahan perkawinan anak di kabupaten Lombok Timur, adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Kebijakan tentang pencegahan perkawinan anak di kabupaten Lombok Timur masih belum menyentuh Pendidikan, secara keseluruhan, seperti program sekolah, kurikulum satuan pendidikan;2) Penguatan profil palajar Pancasila perlu dilakukan di sekolah dalam rangka mengubah fokus peserta didik dari aktivitas-aktivitas negative, sehingga menyebabkan peserta didik terjerumus terhadap perkawinan anak; 3) Penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila, sebagai alternatif untuk mewujudkan peserta didik yang berfikir kritis agar mampu menyaring informasi bahwa perkawinan anak itu merupakan akar masalah social di daerah; 4) Profil pelajar Pancasila mesti harus adanya dukungan lingkungan belajar agar para peserta didik agar lebih mandiri, sehingga menikah itu adalah bukan tentang masalah berharap pada pasangan saja namun juga harus ada jiwa kemandirian agar terwujud nilai-nilai gotong royong setelah dewasa; 5) Program profil pelajar Pancasila menjadi solusi terhadap permasalahan-permasalahan anak, khusunya terhadap perkawinan anak: penelitian ini menyarankan, 1) Perlunya kebijakan yang menyentuh akar masalah sosial di kabupaten Lombok Timur; 2)Perlunya penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila melalui kurikulum satuan Pendidikan. Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is an important economic fish with an easy cultivation process, popular taste, relatively affordable price and wide tolerance to the environment. The ratio of tilapia fish farming business in Lenek Village has more than one so that the tilapia fish farming is worth to develop. The Management of groups are not working, the technology of production is still conventional, the price of feed is high and the unstable market access greatly affect the sustainability of tilapia farming business. The objectives of PKM activities are: 1) implementing group facilitation and administration assistance, 2) implementing technology production facilitation and assistance, and 3) implementing feed and market partnership facilities and assistance. Implementation methods used in the realization of science and technology include counseling, training and mentoring. The Inti Plasma partnership pattern method is used in the implementation of this PKMS, in which the relation of partnership between the fish cultivator is the plasma and the company or partner has the role of providing production facilities such as feed. The result of this PKMS activities is that the Reban Batu Fish Farmers Group is able to carry out the administration, innovative technology applications and build partnership networks. The Partner Group was able to establish an access of feed partnership with BUMDES Lomboq Buaq. Marketing of Terjalis fish production partnership with UD. Arzi. This PKMS activities has had an impact on the Reban Batu Fish Farmers Group as a group of partners in understanding the goals and experiencing the benefits of carrying out group administration activities, experiencing increased production with the application of aquaculture technology, establishing partnerships related to the access of feed and markets

Abstract

This study investigated the challenges Sembalun guides face when using English professionally. Qualitative methods, including data reduction techniques, were employed to summarize and identify key themes and patterns. The participants comprised Sembalun guides, and data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that Sembalun guides need to excel in four aspects: vocabulary, accent, fluency, and grammar. While vocabulary and fluency may suffice for foreign visitors, grammar and accent present difficulties. However, Sembalun guides recognize the significance of developing these areas. Communication with visitors from Russia and France, whose accents resemble those of their native languages, presents the biggest challenge for Sembalun guides working in the tourism industry in Sembalun Village. To enhance the potential of Sembalun Village and attract more international tourists, it is essential for tourism stakeholders, especially tour guides, to possess proficient English-speaking skills. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of English language proficiency for Sembalun guides and highlight the need for continuous improvement to overcome communication challenges and enhance the tourism experience for international visitors.   Abstrak Studi ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki tantangan yang dihadapi oleh pemandu wisata Sembalun saat menggunakan bahasa Inggris dalam peran profesional mereka. Metode kualitatif, termasuk teknik reduksi data, digunakan untuk merangkum dan mengidentifikasi tema dan pola kunci. Peserta studi terdiri dari pemandu wisata Sembalun, dan data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pemandu wisata Sembalun perlu menguasai empat aspek: kosa kata, aksen, kelancaran, dan tata bahasa. Meskipun kosa kata dan kelancaran mungkin cukup untuk pengunjung asing, tata bahasa dan aksen menimbulkan kesulitan. Namun demikian, pemandu wisata Sembalun menyadari pentingnya mengembangkan aspek-aspek ini. Secara khusus, tantangan utama yang dihadapi pemandu wisata Sembalun yang bekerja di sektor pariwisata Desa Sembalun adalah berkomunikasi dengan tamu-tamu dari Rusia dan Prancis, karena aksen mereka menyerupai bahasa daerah mereka. Untuk meningkatkan potensi Desa Sembalun dan menarik lebih banyak wisatawan internasional, penting bagi pemangku kepentingan pariwisata, terutama pemandu wisata, untuk memiliki keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris yang mahir. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya kemampuan berbahasa Inggris bagi pemandu wisata Sembalun dan menyoroti perlunya perbaikan terus-menerus untuk mengatasi tantangan komunikasi dan meningkatkan pengalaman pariwisata bagi pengunjung internasional. Abstract

Belum tersedianya sistem peringatan dini (early warning system) dan monitoring kualitas air kolam secara real time (suhu, pH, kekeruhan, dan DO) yang dapat diakses secara langsung oleh setiap anggota kelompok/pembudidaya dalam menanggulangi kematian udang menjadi permasalahan utama Kelompok Pokdakan Putri Mandiri. Sementara Kelompok Tani Mekar Tani peramasalahannya adalah ketersediaan air yang terbatas dan sistem pengairan masih tradisional. Dengan demikian teknologi SIMORIKA dan SIRCO menjadi solusi permasalahan kelompok mitra. SIMORIKA merupakan teknologi yang digunakan untuk memantau dan melaporkan kondisi kualitas air (suhu, pH, DO, salinitas, kekeruhan, dan ketinggian air) secara real time dan presisi, tanpa harus datang ke lokasi tambak dan juga memiliki fitur early warning system (EWS). Sementara SIRCO yaitu sebagai sistem irigasi otomatis yang dapat dioperasikan secara jarak jauh tanpa harus ke lahan garapan. Lokasi pelatihan ini di Desa Sukadana Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Mitra pelatihan yaitu Kelompok Pokdakan Putri Mandiri dan Kelompok Tani Mekar Tani. Metode pelatihan menggunakan menggunakan Transfer Knowledge, Technology Transfer (TT) dan evaluation. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa perancangan dan pembangunan teknologi diikuti secara partisipatif oleh kelompok. Dengan demikian keterampilan dan kemampuan petani didalam operasional teknologi 65%.
