This research aims to find the form of greeting words which has shifted of Angkola people in Padangsidmpuan, to find the factors that influence shifting of greeting words ofv Angkola people in Padangsidimpuan. The theory which is used for this research is according to Fashold theory in concept Angkola people greeting words â€œSurat Tumbaga Holingâ€and the factors of language shifting of Fashold theory.Â This research was conducted by appliying descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research is Angkola people in Padangsidimpuan from first generation (40-50 years old), second generation (17-35 years old), third generation (6-15 years old). The finding of this research showed that the shifting of greeting words was occur in Angkola people in Padangsidimpuan and the most shifting occur in second and third generation that influence by three factors, such as: 1)Migrant communities, 2) Economic and 3) Education in Padangsidimpuan

The aims of this research are to find out: 1) The extent of the students’ mastery in simple past tense at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan, 2) The extent of the students’ mastery in writing narrative text mastery at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan, 3) Whether there a significant correlation between simple past tense mastery and writing narrative text mastery at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan. In order to get the aims of this research is all of the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan in the period of 2018 / 2019. The sample is taken from the population by random sampling consists of 44 students. This study is carried on by using descriptive method. Furthermore, the instrument is used for collecting the data by giving test to the students. After the data is gotten from the field of the research, the data will be analyzed by descriptive and statistic analysis, by using the formulation “ r “ Product Moment. It can be concluded that the simple past tense of students is categorized “ enough “ ( 64,09 ) and narrative text of students is categorized “ good “ ( 71,13 ). After the data had been gained from the field of the research, the data was analyzed, the writer got rxy = 0,957 and rtable is 0,304 at the 5 % significant level, rxy is greater then rtable. It means that the hypothesis is accepted.

The purpose of this study is to knowwhether using Show and tell method in teaching can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery or not. This technique can improve and increase student’s ability to learn the target language and make them enjoy in the teaching learning process. It supposes to motivate students to learn English actively by using show and tell method. Students also are encouraged to get long memorizing of the words and their meaning. The method that is used in this research is the classroom action research.For getting the needed data, the writer applies the library and field research. The library research is applied based on the needs of the books as the sources of theories and informations, and the field research is applied based on the need of data from the field, in this case from the SMP Negeri 1 Batang Natal. And as the instrument for collecting the data the writer uses the written test. To the result of implementing classroom action research inthe eleventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Batang Natal in 2020 - 2021 academic year, it showed a great improvement in which the mean score of students in pretest is 61.03, whereas in post test 1 is 68.60 and in post test 2 are80.37. Besides, the students’ score percentage in the pretest is 8.82%, from posttest 1 is 31.69 % and 82.35 % from post test of students who have passed the KKM.Next, the result of the students’ score improvement from pretest to posttest 1is 8.82 %, and from pretest to posttest 2 is 31.69%. The percentage got from the result of post – test 2 has achieved the criteria of successSo that, it can be concluded thatthere is a significant improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery after they are taught by using Show and tell method”.And it can be stated that the formulated hypothesis is accepted.

This research is mainly conducted by the writer in order to know that there is a significant effect of using the pre-questioning to improving the students’ reading comprehension skills to the tenth grade students’ of SMA Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan or not. The number of the sample is 52 students. In this research the writer applies the cluster sampling. And as the instrument for collecting the data the writer uses the questioners for variable X and the essay test for variable Y. For getting the needed data, the writer applies the library and field research. The method of research is experiment method, that is the writes find out the different of students’ score before-after using pre-questioning method. Based on the result of research can be known the students’ mean score in pre-test is 80.76. After treatment the students’ mean score increase into 89.04. After collecting the needed the data, the next step which is done by the writer is analyzing it by using statistical analysis. The statistical formulation which is used in this research is the formulation of Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation (rxy). After analyzing the collected data, it has been got that the value of correlation (rxy), that is 0.945. By consulting this value to the table interpretation given before, it is known that this value can be categorized into the very high correlation category. It means that there is a significant effect of using the pre-questioning to improving the students’ reading comprehension skills to the tenth grade students’ of SMA Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan. The hypothesis of this research accepted.

The aim of this research is to describe the influence of Rosetta Stone media and applying the Dynamic Immersion method to improving students' English vocabulary. The Rosetta Stone a is a visual and computer based media. This media displays two-way communication, so it can improve student interactivity. The preferred method is Dynamic Immersion which is without English translation, only in the form of visuals or images, so it is expected that the students' brains are immediately used to associating English vocabulary with visual images. This reseach using classroom action research (CAR) when the students in SMP N 3 Padangsidimpuan as a research subject which amounted to 33 students. Data are collected using observation sheets, also evaluation tests. The results of the study increased from the cycle I to cycle II.

This research aims to improve the vocabulary of students' English vocabulary and student learning outcomes using Rosetta Stone through Dynamic Immersion media. The Dynamic Immersion is an audiovisual method without translation, so it is hoped that the brains of students will immediately become accustomed to associating English words with visual images.After the instrument is declared valid and has a high level of reliability, the next step is to provide pre-test and post-test to both groups. The test given is a learning achievement test in the form of an objective test in the form of multiple-choice related to the vocabulary theme of singular and plural vocabulary which is done by students of the control class and the experimental class.Hypothesis testing is done to find out whether there is a significant influence on the Rosetta Stone media through the dynamic immersion method to the learning outcomes of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. Hypothesis testing in this study was conducted using a test analysis with analysis using the SPSS statistical program. The results of calculations from the t-test were 4.93 with Df = na + nb - 2, Df = 68, a significance level of 5%, then t-table = 1.99. So the result of the t-test is 4.93> 1.99. So, the t-test is bigger than the t-table. Based on the results, it means that there are significant differences in the post-test scores between the experimental group and the control group.Based on the decision-making basis of the independent sample t-test in this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of Rosetta Stone useful as a medium in teaching vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students of SMPN 3 Padangsidimpuan. This research was conducted in increasing the students’ English comprehension. They are not English department the students. The using of Hello English Application Based on Android Smartphone available in online or offline, the students can use it in everywhere. The research use action research. Plans made such as the use of Android-based Hello English Application and research instruments as learning support. This action research starts from planning, acting, reflecting and evaluating. It consists of six meetings with 3 cycles. The implementation of learning goes well with starting activities, core activities (introduction and use of Hello English Application(and closing activities (giving posttest question). The first cycle, the students still confused with the app, it might them got low score. At the second cycle, the researcher gave the video tutorial about the app, therefore the students more relax and they got good score. In the third cycle, the students enjoyed with the app and got better score and brave follow the online match in the app. The result showed that there is improvement on the students’ comprehension with English in every meeting. This showed that the use of Hello English Application has an effect of increasing the students’ competency in learning English.

Fenomena penerapan pembelajaran bilingual pada anak usia dini sangat melekat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sebagai antisipasi dari persaingan global. Anak yang diberikan pembelajaran bilingual sejak dini akan mampu bersaing dengan dunia luar dikarenakan bisa mempelajari kebudayaan luar yang notabene menggunakan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran bilingual pada anak usia dini di TK Al Azhar, Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Pemilihan subjek dilakukan sesuai dengan kebutuhan peneliti. Subjek penelitian ini adalah, Kepala Pengelola TK Al Azhar, guru kelas, perilaku peserta didik, dan orang tua. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi,wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakanmodel Miles dan Huberman selama berada di lapangan. Aktivitas dalam analisis data meliputi data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verification. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap anak mampu mengembangkan bahasa secara alami. Namun, pengembangan bahasa juga dipengaruhi oleh orang tua, lingkungan dan dunia pendidikan, terutama dalam pembelajaran dua bahasa (bilingual).Pembelajaran bilingual pada anak usia dini tidak boleh dengan paksaan dan harus dilakukan dengan kegiatan yang menyenangkan seperti, bernyanyi, bermain, danpembiasaan.

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pelatihan dan pengetahuan kepada guru-guru yang mengajar di SMP, SMA dan SMK Swasta Kampus Padangsidimpuan tentang pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis powerpoint yang bermanfaat sebagai bahan ajar untuk mempermuda guru dalam menjelaskan atau menerangkan materi pembelajaran yang diajarkan. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan oleh tim dalam melaksanakan kegiatan ini sebagi berikut; Perencanaan, Perancanaan Tindakan, Observasi/Evaluasi, dan Refleksi. Dengan adanya media pembelajaran akan lebih memudahkan guru dalam menjelaskan metari pembelajaran.

Pembelajaran online yang dilakukan melalui media sosial ataupun aplikasi yang ada di handphone atau laptop, akhirnya menyebabkan siswa banyak menggunakan teknologi digital, atau ada juga siswa yang sudah terbiasa menggunakannya sebelum terjadi pembelajaran online, demikian yang dialami oleh siswa di SD Negeri 200211 Padangsidimpuan. Maka dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat mengenai literasi digital dilakukan dengan tujuan memberikan pengetahuan bagaimana mengakses internet yang baik dan aman bagi siswa sekolah dasar, aplikasi apa saja yang cocok digunakan dan penggunaan handphone yang baik dan bijak. Kegiatan dimulai dari tahap awal sosialisasi dan perijinan hingga tahap evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih memahami mengenai teknologi digital seperti handphone untuk hal-hal yang bersifat positif, juga mengenai keamanan dalam dunia digital, dan pencarian sumber informasi yang sesuai dengan usia mereka. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini ditunjukkan dengan besarnya antusiasme siswa dalam mengikuti kegiatan dan peserta mampu menjawab pertanyaan, mengulang menjelaskan materi serta dari informasi yang didapat setelah mengikuti kegiatan. 85% siswa memahami bagaimana caranya mencari informasi untuk pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini juga mendorong keberhasilan pembelajaran online karena siswa dapat mencari informasi, membaca, menyimak, melalui media digital seperti web, media sosial, blog maupun youtube. Sehingga siswa dengan mudah dapat mengikuti pembelajaran yang berlaksanakan secara online.
