Abstract

his study aims to: analyze the benefits of online learning media used in English II courses and solutions applied in online learning if there are obstacles, both weaknesses and strengths, in one of the online media used. The learning media used in online education in the English II course are Google Meet as a live streaming medium, Google Classroom as a web-based virtual classroom interaction medium, and WhatsApp groups to support intense interactions in chat-based online classes. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. It can be seen that the benefits of the three learning media can be examined in more detail, starting from the disadvantages to the advantages of each. This research was applied to 4 classes with the same subject, namely English II, taught to 2nd-semester students, Department of Management, Yogyakarta Administrative Management Academy. This data collection was done through direct observation and interviews with the students involved.

Abstract

The current technological development has entered the 4.0 industrial revolutions. This revolution encouraged automation systems in almost all activities and processes . The time constraint for face-to-face interactions in the classroom often makes English learning becomes less effective, especially for classes with diverse levels of English proficiency. In a higher education system which demands active learning, English teachers often find it difficult to help students whose English language competence is below average . In fact , the target of learning English on campus is generally quite high. One of the solutions is that the teaching and learning process uses hybrid method- a learning system that complements face-to-face interactions in the classroom along with distant learning using the internet. Hybrid learning is able to complement the lack of time for face-to-face interactions in the classroom in the form of distance learning with the medium of internet. This paper is the result of the writer’s observations in applying this method when teaching the first semester of the 2021/2022 study period AMA Yogyakarta. This research is a descriptive quantitative research using questionnaires as the data retrieval technique. This research concludes that hybrid learning method can be used in English learning classes with 61,26% of students agree to the method, and 38,7% do not agree even though in general, they prefer face to face interaction. However, it can be a solution for distant learning since it is accessible anytime and anywhere although it requires stable internet connection as its basic requirements. Abstract

ABSTRAK Dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini yang ingin digali dan dikembangkan adalah sistem kewirausahaan di kalangan santri, khususnya di PP. Al Anwar Sleman Yogyakarta. Santri PP. Al Anwar selama ini sudah mendapatkan pelatihan tentang dasar kewirausahaan akan tetapi kurang maksimal. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah kurangnya pengetahuan tentang cara pengembangan hasil wirausaha dan manajemen pemasarannya. Dari alasan inilah penulis mengangkat materi ini dalam sebuah tema cara memberdayakan jiwa kewirausahaan pada santri PP. AL Anwar Sleman Yogyakarta serta sistem yang dipakai untuk memasarkan hasil dari wirausaha santri PP Al Anwar Sleman Yogyakarta. Metode yang dipakai dalam abdimas ini adalah observasi, wawancara, ceramah, praktek dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil pengabdian ini didapatkan bahwa pemberdayaan jiwa kewirausaan santri PP Al Anwar sudah dijalankan, salah satunya melalui pelatihan pembuatan printing mug. Mulai dari desain, produksi sampai pemasaran.  Dari pelatihan ini didapatkan bahwa keahlihan kewirausahaan di kalangan santri Al Anwar Sleman sudah berjalan dengan baik, namun perlu untuk ditingkatkan lagi melalui pelatihan-pelatihan pendukung lainnya seperti pelatihan pengemasan produk, pemasaran produk hingga teknik penjualan produk. Kata kunci : pemberdayaan, pelatihan, kewirausahaan, santri  ABSTRACT In this community service what you want to explore and develop is the entrepreneurial system among students, especially in PP. Al Anwar Sleman Yogyakarta. PP students. Al Anwar has received training on the basics of entrepreneurship, but it is not optimal. One of the reasons is the lack of knowledge about how to develop entrepreneurial outcomes and marketing management. From this reason, the author formulates a problem: 1. How to empower the entrepreneurial spirit of PP students. AL Anwar Sleman Yogyakarta?,2. What is the system used to market the results of the student entrepreneurs of PP Al Anwar Sleman Yogyakarta? The methods used in this service are observation, interviews, lectures, practice and documentation. From the results of this service, it was found that the empowerment of the entrepreneurial spirit of PP Al Anwar students had been carried out, one of which was through training in making mug printing. Starting from design, production to marketing. From this training, it was found that entrepreneurship skills among Al Anwar Sleman students have been going well, but need to be improved through other supporting trainings. Keywords: empowerment, training, entrepreneurship, students

Abstract

This study aims to discover and describe the condition of the motivational object experienced by students in online English learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in Yogyakarta in the even learning year 2020/2021. Sampling was done using a purposive sampling technique, and four classes were obtained, each of which there was 32 students, with the total number of samples being 128 students. Data collection techniques in this study are by distributing questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The questionnaire was made using google forms. Data analysis calculated the percentage of each category indicator and learning motivation aspect, from which the data percentage score was interpreted, and each indicator was analyzed in depth. The results of this study indicate that the learning motivation of students in Yogyakarta in the even semester is in the odd category. This can be seen from the moderate category, as many as 72 students out of 128 students, while from the motivational presentation score with the highest ARSC aspect, the satisfaction aspect is 28%. This research is expected to evaluate various parties involved in organizing online learning in universities so that the implementation is more optimal.

Abstract

Program Kartu Prakerja hadir guna meningkatkan kompetensi angkatan kerja, yang berujung pada peningkatan produktivitas serta peningkatan daya saing di tengah ketatnya kompetisi sumber daya manusia saat ini. Banyaknya lembaga penyedia layanan dan jenis pelatihan (kursus) yang ditawarkan sangat bervariasi. Tidak semua pelatihan cocok untuk semua perserta. Rekomendasi untuk memilih lembaga dan jenis pelatihan yang tepat menjadi permasalahan tersendiri bagi penerima program prakerja. Salah satu cara yang dapat membantu peserta dalam memilih kursus daring adalah dengan menggunakan sistem rekomendasi (Recommender System/RSs). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan model sistem rekomendasi untuk memilih kursus daring bagi pemegang kartu prakerja. Model rekomendasi dikembangkan dengan pendekatan content based filtering pada jenis kursus yang ditawarkan. Penelitian menghasilkan model yang dapat diimplementasikan pada sebuah aplikasi recommender system dan dimanfaatkan bagi pemegang kartu prakerja dalam memilih kursus daring terbaik.Kata Kunci: prakerja, sistem rekomendasi, content based filtering

Abstract

Covid-19 has been declared a world pandemic by WHO and has been designated by the Government as a non-natural disaster in the form of a disease outbreak that requires integrated countermeasures including the involvement of all components of society. The purpose of this community service activity is to find out the efforts made to prevent the spread of Covid -19 in RT. 004 RW 029 Padukuhan Jomblang, Sendangadi Village, Mlati district, Sleman Regency, DI Yogyakarta. The implementation of this Community Service activity is packaged using cooperative learning methods including lectures, discussions and practice. Efforts to prevent the spread of Covid -19 include: 1) Applying how to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in daily life; 2) Avoid direct contact with other people, and try not to leave the house except in critical times; 3) covid-19 is a virus that damages the respiratory system and can cause several complications from infection to death; and 4) Don't feel too stressed and burdened during this pandemic, because what is needed is a strong immune system or body metabolism and can increase immunity by exercising and eating healthy foods.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interest in learning and self-discipline on English learning achievement of second semester students of the Yogyakarta Administrative Management Academy (AMAYO). Research hypotheses: 1) It is suspected that there is a significant effect of interest in learning on learning achievement in English. 2) it is suspected that there is a significant effect of self-discipline on learning achievement in English. 3) it is suspected that there is a significant influence of interest in learning and self-discipline simultaneously on achievement in learning English. The research was conducted by survey method. The population is second semester AMAYO students for the 2021/2022 academic year with a sample size of 77 students. By testing using multiple linear regression techniques. The results of hypothesis testing obtained the following conclusions: 1) There is a significant effect of interest in learning on English learning achievement of AMAYO students, that tcount (5.426) > ttable (1.6654); 2) There is a significant effect of self-discipline on English learning achievement of AMAYO students, that tcount (5,633) > ttable (1,6654); and 3) There is a significant effect of simultaneous interest in learning and self-discipline on AMAYO students' learning achievement in English, that Fcount (82,125) > ftable (3.158). The regression equation obtained is as follows Y = 2,935 + 0,579X1 + 0,627X2.

Abstract

Sudah menjadi keniscayaan Pengurus Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Stikes Surya Global harus mampu meningkatkan fungsi-fungsi manajemen, dan ini menjadi kewajiban dari setiap pengurus untuk mendorong dan memotivasi setiap mahasiswa santrinya untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan intelektual, kecerdasan spiritual, kecerdasan sosial, kecerdasan mental dan ide-ide kreatif sehingga dapat mengembangkan kemampuan, kemauan dan bakat dalam diri mahasiswa santri tersebut. Tujuan kegiatan abdimas ini adalah untuk menanamkan dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan beramal kegiatan pada mahasiswa santri Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Stikes Surya Global. Kegiatan Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh mahasiswa santri Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Stikes Surya Global. Kegiatan ini melibatkan tim dosen AMA Yogyakarta dalam upaya menjalin kerjasama dengan pihak Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Stikes Surya Global untuk meningkatkan minat dan bakatnya serta pembentukan karakter. Berdasarkan data hasil pengabdian di lapangan yang penulis lakukan, bahwa motivasi mahasiswa santri mempunyai kemampuan untuk hidup mandiri, menambah kemampuan daya hidup dan kemampuan berinteraksi sosial di lingkungan pondok pesantren.

Abstract

This community service activity involves religious counseling to MTsN Godean Sleman Yogyakarta Sleman Yogyakarta students. This effort aims to introduce religious values ​​to students as part of the character education method emphasized by the government, especially in the midst of increasing incidents of juvenile delinquency. The focus of this service program is to provide education about the history of the Hijrah event of the Prophet Muhammad SAW to students. Various methods are used in this program, including observation, outreach, evaluation, and lectures. This activity took place at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 5 Godean Sleman Yogyakarta. The results of this activity show that students gain motivation and enthusiasm to follow in the footsteps of the Hijrah inspired by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Apart from that, this program also provides understanding and knowledge about the events of the Hijrah of the Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Medina, which some MTsN Godean Sleman Yogyakarta Sleman Yogyakarta students may not have previously known.

Abstract

This research is aimed at whether using scramble cards improves the students’ vocabulary. It is also aimed at the enrichment of the students’ achievement in teaching learning process using scramble cards. The materials used in this research were scramble cards. Some steps in this research start from identifying the problems, planning the action, implementing the action, observing or monitoring the action, reflecting the result of the observation, and research findings. The research was conducted in four meetings. A meeting for pre-test, 2 meetings for treatments and a meeting for post-test. The sample of this research was 35 first-year students of a polytechnic in Indonesia. The technique in collecting the data was quantitative method. In the quantitative method, the researcher used tests to examine the students’ achievement. The test consisted of the pre-test and post-test. The technique to analyze the test result was by comparing the mean score of pre-test and post-test. Besides that, this research also used descriptive statistics and the t-test of non-independent. The research result shows that scramble card can enhance the students’ vocabulary mastery, it can be seen from the aspect of the vocabulary mastery, such as the students could understand, grasp, remember, pronounce, write about 80 until 90 % of the words correctly and use the words in some sentences appropriately. Second, the improvement also can be seen from the pre-test and post-test of the students’ score. The mean score of the pre-test improves from 5.67 to 8.85 in post-test. Then, the scores of the pre-test and post-test show that there is also an improvement in students who achieve the minimum standard score, that is 60. They are from 3.2% to 100% of students. As the conclusion of this research that the use of scramble cards improves students’ vocabulary mastery.Keywords: vocabulary, scramble card, classroom action-research, improvement
