Abstract

Trash  is  a  major problem in  Banjarbaru City thus far.    The  trash volume in  Banjarbaru approximately 120 tons per day on year 2017-2018 and that goes to landfill thereabouts 105 tons. Therefore,  it is important manage the household waste, so do on  community level through "Bank of  Trash"  as  an  efforts in  creating a  Pro  Climate  (PROKLlM) hometown. Household waste management success through Bank of Trash as one of the efforts of creating "Kampung Proklim" is influenced by the level of knowledge and skill of group manager, waste management technology that mastered, management of waste,  community support and the participation of other institutions.  The  General conditions of  the  Bank Trash  Benawa Raya Mandiri (BRM) is quite adequate, but merely collecting and  selling inorganic garbage from citizens around settlement of Benawa Raya Mandiri to the  Gatherer, on the other hand, organic waste is available in abundance in settlement area  of  Benawa Raya Mandiri, so it consider to be necessary to open such group counselling and training to transfer knowledge and technology to process the organic waste become compost.Keywords: Bank of Trash, Pro Climate Hometown , Compost

Abstract

The aims of this study are to analyze the diameter, height, volume, and annual growth rate of teak in community forest at age 17th in Batu Balian and Madurejo Village, and to analyze planting and maintenance activities that can support the growth of teak in Batu Balian and Madurejo village. The benefit of this study is to aquire information about the growth of Teak in community forest in Batu Balian and Madurejo village at age 17th so it can become information in the means of management and land utilization, especialy in South Borneo. The parameters observed were height, diameter, volume, and annual growth rate. Analysis data using systematic sampling where in every location, 3 measuring plots were observed. There were 4 location, so the total of measuring plots are 12. The results were analyzed using LSD (Least Significant Deference) test by SPSS version 22. Finally, the data made by using Arc gis 4.0. The results showed that the second location in Batu Balian Village have the highest annual growth rate which are 1.51 cm diameter/year and average heigh is 0.30 m3. The lowest growth is teak trees in fourth location in Madurejo Village with diameter annual growth rate and avarge volume are 1.39 cm/year and 0.24 m3.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pertumbuhan diameter, tinggi, volume, dan riap tanaman jati di hutan rakyat pada umur 17 tahun di Desa Batu Balian dan Madurejo, serta menganalisis kegiatan penanaman dan pemeliharaan yang dapat menunjang pertumbuhan tanaman jati di Desa Batu Balian dan Madurejo. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi terkait pertumbuhan tanaman jati di hutan rakyat Desa Batu Balian dan Madurejo pada umur 17 tahun sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai informasi dalam upaya pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan lahan khususnya di daerah Kalimantan Selatan. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi, diameter, volume, dan riap pertumbuhan pohon. Analisis data menggunakan sistematik sampling dimana pada tiap titik lokasi diamati 3 petak ukur. Jumlah titik lokasi ada 4 blok sehingga jumlah semua petak ukur ada 12. Hasil dianalisis dengan uji beda nyata LSD menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 22. Terakhir pembuatan dibantu dengan menggunakan software Arc gis 4.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa evaluasi pertumbuhan tanaman jati rakyat di Desa Batu Balian dan Madurejo pada umur 17 tahun  menunjukan  bahwa  lokasi 2 di Desa Batu Balian memiliki riap diameter dan volume tertinggi, yaitu dengan riap diameter 1,51 cm/tahun dan rata-rata volume tertinggi yaitu 0,30 m3. Hasil pertumbuhan terendah ada pada jati di lokasi 4 di Desa Madurejo dengan riap diameter dan rata-rata volume adalah 1,39 cm/tahun dan 0,24 m3

Abstract

Study of Damage level on Ulin Seedlings (Eusideroxylon zwageri) in the Shade House and Open area. This research was conducted in the Nursery of Balai Perhutanan Sosial dan Kemitraan Lingkungan  Banjarbaru. The objectives of this study was to analyze the frequency, intensity, and  damage level  caused by pests and diseases in the shade house and open area. The results showed the attack frequency of pest and disease were 38 seedling in the shade house and 49  in open area.  The attack intensity of pest and disease was 25% in the  shade house and 98% in open area. Abstract

Coastal areas of South Kalimantan show alarming conditions due to the reduction in mangrove plants. This situation will make the rate of environmental degradation relatively fast which will have an impact on displacement of settlements, ponds, gardens and damage to the shoulder of the road by coastal erosion. Facing this situation, planting was carried out in the former pond area with Mangrove species (Rhizophora) by the government of Tanah Bumbu Regency with PT. Arutmin in Betung Village in 2005. After planting, the condition of the mangrove stands also needs to be considered regarding health and damage. Therefore this effort was carried out with the aim of knowing the health and percentage of damage to Male Mangrove plants (Rhizophora mucronata Lamk). The results showed that of the 423 trees studied there were 390 trees with healthy criteria with a percentage of 93.38%. The highest percentage of damage based on the location of damage was found in leaves of 53.43%, canopy stem 44.50%, and roots of 2.07%. The highest percentage of damage was based on the cause of damage caused by pests 43.92% and plant competition 43.42%.Keywords: Beach; Male mangrove; Health; Damage

Abstract

The respondents were determined by purposive sampling while the respondents were calculated using Slovin formula. Determination of the location of the research was conducted based on Fire Insecurity Level (Suparni, 2014) with medium category in Tiwingan Lama Village and low category in Jorong Subdistrict. Based on the respondent's answer, the first cause of forest fires is land clearing 58%, the second is grazing and hunting with a percentage of 23%, the third is cigarette butt percentage 10%, the fourth by society that is not known cause percentage 9%. Factors causing forest fires in Tahura Sultan Adam by the first tourists are cigarette butts with a percentage of 64%, the second is the fire with a percentage of 25%, third is unknown cause percentage 11%. While in the District of Jorong which is included in the Tahura Sultan Adam area rarely there is human activity and road access is not adequate so that forest fires never happen.Keywords: Factors causing fire; Tahura Sultan Adam; Society and Tourists

Abstract

The aims at this study to: (1) Analyze the physical properties of soil on peatlands, (2) Determine peatland management efforts. This research was conducted at Jalan Suka Maju (BRG Assisted Land) in Liang Anggang District, Banjarbaru City Government, South Kalimantan Province. The results of the analysis of soil physical properties, the results of bulk density have low values, soil porosity has a higher value, particle density has a low value, soil permeability has a high value, the consistency of existing soil is soft and the maturity of sapric peat soil, Efforts in peatland management are carried out using agroforestry patterns such as (a) Keeping peat water from quickly descending from the land as the system used is closed land, (b) Making mounds for agroforestry patterns does not exceed 25-30 cm with a base width of 30-40 cm, (c) Using woody plants such as prince, galam, candlenut, petai, jengkol, besides agricultural/fruit crops such as oranges, rambutan, sapodilla, onion, pineapple, banana, chili, and corn. Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of trees along Jalan Ahmad Yani Banjarbaru City using census method. From the results of the research, it is known that the total of trees in Along Jalan Ahmad Yani Banjarbaru City consists of 389 trees consisting of 27 species, consisting of 6 types of fruits, and 21 species of wood. Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the frequency, intensity and level of damage which is caused by pests and diseases on Trembesi (Samanea saman) seedling in shade house. Based on the results, the frequency of pests and diseases attacks in shade house is 87 seedlings. Intensity of pests and diseases attacks on Trembesi in shade house is 46,26%. The level of damage on Trembesi seedlings due to pests and diseases in shade house, make a minor damage levels. Pests which attack Trembesi seedlings are green grasshopper, caterpillar and egg caterpillar. The diseases which attack Trembesi seedlings in shade house are leaf blotches, discoloration and fungus withered.Keywords: pests, diseases, trembesi, shade house

Abstract

Bekantan ecotourism area is a peat area that had caught fire in 2015 resulting in the loss of existing vegetation. Naturally, areas of burned peat have the ability to repair themselves by natural (secondary) succession. This succession is usually marked by the presence of pioneer plant types which will eventually form vegetation of shrubs, one of which is kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris Burm. Bedd) which dominates in the bekantan ecotourism area. It is possible to become one of the forest fuels if the area burns again. The aim of this study is to calculate the level of water litter (Stenochlaena palustris Burm. Bedd) and analyze the effect of water content of litter (Stenochlaena palustris Burm. Bedd) on the chance of a fire in Bekantan Ecotourism Area of PT. Antang Gunung Meratus, Kalimantan Selatan. The study was conducted in Bekantan Ecotourism Area PT. Antang Gunung Meratus, Kalimantan Selatan, for 3 months, from June to August 2019. The data obtained were calculated on the water content and determined the level of fire hazard. The results of this study the water content of litter under the shade of 11.6%. So that the water content under the shade is at a rate <20%. In accordance with the statement of the Ministry of Forestry and Forestry (1999) for peatlands, the water content in the observation plots is categorized as prone to fire.Keywords: Fire; Kelakai; Water content

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase hidup bibit Shorea balangeran setelah dilakukan penyimpanan dalam kardus dan pemeliharaan dalam sungkup plastik, mengetahui lama penyimpanan dalam kardus, dan lama pemeliharaan dalam sungkup plastik yang memberikan pengaruh pertumbuhan terbaik serta untuk mengetahui penyimpanan paling lama dalam sungkup dan pemeliharaan paling singkat dalam sungkup plastik yang masih bisa memberikan pertumbuhan yang baik bagi anakan Shorea balangeran. penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan paket teknologi dalam rangka pengadaan/penyediaan bibit jenis dipterocarpaceae, khususnya untuk jenis Shorea balangeran. Analisis data menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan pola faktorial (RAL faktorial) dengan taraf faktor penyimpanan dalam kardus sebanyak 3, 6, dan 9 hari dan taraf faktor pemeliharaan dalam sungkup plastik sebanyak 4 taraf (0, 15, 30 dan 45 hari) sehingga terdapat 12 kombinasi perlakuan dengan ulangan sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase hidup bibit balangeran sebesar 97,92% Perlakuan penyimpanan dalam kardus 3 hari dan pemeliharaan dalam sungkup plastik 45 hari memberikan pertumbuhan tinggi terbaik dengan rata-rata nilai pertambahan tinggi sebesar 6,41 cm sedangkan perlakuan penyimpanan dalam kardus 3 hari tanpa pemeliharaan dalam sungkup plastik memberikan pertumbuhan diameter terbaik dengan rata-rata nilai pertambahan diameter sebesar 0,033 cm. Taraf faktor A tidak berengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan tinggi dan diameter bibit balangeran sehingga penyimpanan terlama dalam kardus dapat dilakukan selama 9 hari. Lama pemeliharaan dalam sungkup yang optimal untuk pertambahan tinggi pada perlakuan B3 (dipelihara dalam sungkup selama 30 hari) sedangkan untuk pertumbuhan diameter yang terbaik tanpa dilakukan pemeliharaan dalam sungkup plastik.
