Abstract

Nowadays, in the Danau Bangkau swamp, there is a tendency that some types of fish are increasingly difficult to find and the size of the fish that are still available is relatively small, and the catch of fishermen has decreased. Utilization of fishery potential of Danau Bangkau swamp through the development of aquaculture business is an alternative option that must be implemented. This research was conducted to be able to see the feasibility of the water quality in the Danau Bangkau swamp so that hope it can be basic information for the development of aquaculture in that area. The results showed that the temperature range in the waters of the Danau Bangkau swamp was 28.3-32.4 oC, the brightness was 72-95 cm, degree of acidity (pH) is 6.01-7.2, dissolved oxygen (DO) 1.2-4.3 mg/l, nitrate 0.7-9.8 mg/l, phosphate 0.2-3.31 mg/l and total suspended solids 7-48 mg/l. In general, the value of water quality parameters fulfill the quality standards, except for dissolved oxygen and phosphate parameters. The low levels of dissolved oxygen and high levels of phosphate indicated that there has been pollution in the Danau Bangkau swamp waters so it is not suitable for the cultivation activities.

Abstract

The fish diversity in Barito River is determined by diversity of zooplankton, in relation to the grazing food chain’s concept. One of the problems that occur is the quality of several key parameters in waters are no longer suitable for zooplankton and fish life. The purpose of this research were: (a) analyze the key parameters of water quality at the sampling location (b) determine the relationship between key water quality parameters and zooplankton diversity at the Barito River sampling location. The method used was a purposive sampling survey method and the shanon-wiener method. The results showed that the key parameters that met the PP No. 22/2021 Water Quality Standard for Class 2 River Water Quality.

Abstract

This research is aimed to find out water quality in ponds at freshwater plantation world, that was whether fit or not with Water Quality Standard. Besides, the research was aimed to identify about accomplishment of water quality management at freshwater plantation world Mandiangin. The research was hoped could contribute to provide updated information for the direction of freshwater plantation world Mandiangin about the condition of water quality in ponds. Result of the research showed that physics and chemist parameters were fit with the condition of Water Quality Standard (classified C), that was for fisheries and farming needs, acceptable for Dissolved Oxygen that had a lower grade and did not fit with Water Quality Standard. Besides, accomplishment of water quality management was good enough. Especially for DO, it might need aerator to increase DO values.

Abstract

Gemor plants (Nothaphoebe coriacea K.) is the producer of one type of mainstay NTFP (Non-Timber Forest Products) in Kalimantan. Bark of gemor is potential to be used as a biological larvacide, especially against Aedes aegypti larvae which are the carriers of disease vectors of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). This study aimed to analyze the effect of bark extract concentration of gemor as a biological larvacide against: (1) the mortality rate of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae, and (2) the physical and chemical quality of rainwater. The research method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 5 replications. Treatment applied in this research was gemor bark extract concentration, namely: L0 (0 ppm), L1 (400 ppm), L2 (800 ppm), L3 (1,200 ppm), L4 (1,600 ppm), and L5 (2,000 ppm). Larvae used in this study were Aedes aegypti larvae in the third instar. The variables observed were the mortality rate of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae and the rain water quality parameters, including pH and TDS. The results indicated that increasing concentrations of gemor bark extract significantly (p <0.05) increase the mortality rate of Aedes aegypti larvae. During 12 hours of observation, the percentage of larvae mortality at a concentration of 400 ppm (L1) was 42% and increased to 100% at a concentration of 2,000 ppm (L5), whereas in the control (L0) no  mortality was observed. Gemor bark extract may improve the rainwater pH between 0.02 to 0.04. TDS parameter value for the L0 treatment was 4 mg / l, while for the L1 it was 37.6 mg / l and increased to 806.2 mg / l for the L5 . Nonetheless, the value of TDS in the L5 concentration still meets the standards of Ministry of Health Decree No. 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990 about the Terms and Water Quality Monitoring.

Abstract

This research aimed (a) to find out the changes of the value of water quality parameters in domestic household waste by using perupuk (Phragmites karka) and Effective Microorganisms (EM); (b) to prensent the changes in values of water quality parameter; and (c) to compare the value of water quality parameter on phytoremediation, bioremediation and both of combinations. The study was conducted by using 3 treatments, 4 repetitions and 1 control. The data obtained from the research was quantitative data that was processed by One Way Anova analysis with advanced test using LSD and Duncan test with trust level (sig) = 0.05.The results obtained from this study is that in water reservoir the combination of EM4 and Perupuk (Phragmites karka) was the best treatment in this study that have been executed. The combination of two treatments that were able to repair four of the seven water quality parameters are DO (-31.48%), BOD5 (99.57%), COD (99.87%), and TSS (92.41%) from standard of environment quality in Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) No.82 tahun 2001 Kelas II

Abstract

Evaluated from fitoplankton abundance index, has known that the condition of territorial Riam Kanan Basin water can be classified as a good condition or pertained at light contamination, where fitoplankton as first producer represent the especial link in giration the underwater food chain. Hence, obtainable territorial waters fertility with the make-up of amount of fitoplankton or the fitoplankton abundance index in territorial water represent one of indicator of territorial waters fertility.

Abstract

Research on mangrove species diversity has been carried out in Rukam Village, West Bangka Regency. This study aims to determine the diversity of mangrove species in Rukam Village, West Bangka Regency. This research was conducted using purposive sampling at five research stations. Transects are drawn perpendicular to the coastline starting from the outermost vegetation (near the sea) to the final boundary of the littoral area (land). The results obtained were the diversity index was classified as low ranging from 0.4 - 0.74, the uniformity index value was evenly distributed between 0.57 - 0.97 and the dominance index value ranged from 0.2 - 0.5, there were types that dominated. other types, so that the community structure is unstable and there is ecological stress.
