Abstract

COOKIES FROM ORGANIC GROAT FLOUR TRAINING IN KWT BUMP PT. PENGAYOM TANI SEJAGAD. The rice milling process in addition to producing rice as the main product also other by-products in the form of broken rice or groats, rice bran or husks, and bran or bran. These by-products have not been utilized optimally by the BUMP Pengayom Tani Sejagad which is located in Kebonagung, Sidoharjo District, Wonogiri Regency. This problem is one of the challenges as well as opportunities for training related to groat processing in order to increase the added value of by-products from rice milling. This community service activity aims to provide education and skills to farmers in the Pengayom Tani Sejagad Farmer-Owned Enterprise (BUMP) in processing groats so that they have a higher selling value. The implementation method is the preparation of material handbooks, socialization of processing and innovation of processed food from groats, workshops for processing groats, packaging training, marketing of products from processing groats, and monitoring and evaluation. The service activities carried out can improve the knowledge and skills of target partners in processing, packaging and marketing groat cookies.

Abstract

Corona Virus Disease 19 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that can be transmitted between humans through coughing or sneezing. The application of health protocols and increased immunity is an effort to prevent COVID-19 infection. Intensification of home garden with immune-boosting medical plants have several benefits, that are the fulfillment of household needs of immune-boosting medical plants, overcome the soaring price of immune-boosting medical plants and as physical activity and community ecotherapy to increase immunity. Community service with theme intensification of home garden with immune-boosting medical plants and as ecotherapy was carried out in Mojolaban Sub-district, Sukoharjo. The community service aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of the community related to the intensification of home garden medical plants that can be used as ecotherapy. This activity was conducted by extension and training methods to representatives of two Farmer Women’s Groups, namely KWT Sri Rejeki and KWT Mekar Sari. Participants of this community activity look enthusiastic to follow each activity. The team of community service activity in Mojolaban Sub-district also handed over tools and materials in form of planting media, fertilizers, medical plants seed (turmeric, ginger, temulawak and lemongrass) to KWT Sri Rejeki and KWT Mekar Sari for starting the intensification of home garden with immune-boosting medical plants. This community service increases the knowledge of the community in Mojolaban Sub-district about the intensification of home gardens with immune-boosting medical plants, the community is also enthusiastic to conduct home garden intensification with immune-boosting medical plants after knowing of benefits that will be obtained.

Abstract

Title:Capacity Building for Mina Mandiri Business Through Marketing Training of Fish Processed ProductsThe income earned from the main job as a rice farmer has not been able to meet the needs of a farmer family in Sindumartani Village, Ngemplak, Sleman. Residents use some of the land for tilapia farming. Tilapia aquaculture business has not provided significant additional revenue. Farmers market fresh fish with simple techniques (conventional) with a limited scope. Mina Mandiri Fish Farmers Group is required to be more creative in setting marketing strategies so that their products are better known, interested in consumers and reach a wider market. Farmer groups need marketing training to increase their business capacity. Market efforts by combining offline strategies and online strategies. This service is carried out in order to provide marketing training. The existence of this marketing training provides the right marketing knowledge for fish processed products, so that it can increase the marketing area and increase the group's business capacity.

Abstract

Kecamatan Jebres merupakan salah satu kecamatan padat penduduk di Kota Surakarta. Hal ini menyebabkan tidak adanya lahan pertanian yang tersedia di wilayah tersebut. Solusi terhadap permasalahan ini adalah dengan menginisiasi kampung hijau yang bekerjasama dengan PKK Gendingan RT 03/XVI Jebres. Kegiatan ini berbasis urban farming yang memiliki tujuan akhir peningkatan ekonomi dan ekologi di wilayah Jebres. Urban farming dilakukan melalui penyuluhan pengolahan sampah sisa pertanian kota dan sampah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk organik cair (POC) dengan teknik ember tumpuk. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian adalah penyuluhan partisipatif. Kegiatan pegabdian dilaksanakan di Gedung Serbaguna Gendingan Jebres yang diawali dengan penjelasan mengenai pengelolaan sampah. Kemudian kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan praktik pengolahan sampah sisa pertanian kota dan sampah rumah tangga menjadi POC. POC siap dipanen setelah dua bulan sejak sampah pertama kali diproses dengan metode ember tumpuk. Kegiatan ini berlangsung dari bulan Agustus sampai dengan Oktober 2020, dimana pada Oktober 2020 mitra telah dapat memanen POC. POC digunakan dengan komposisi tiga sendok POC untuk satu liter air. POC ini dapat diproduksi lebih lanjut dan berguna untuk meningkatkan perekonomian mitra. Selain itu, POC juga dapat digunakan sebagai pupuk tanaman yang berdampak pada membaiknya lingkungan mitra.  Abstract. Jebres is one of the densely populated districts in Surakarta. This causes no land for agriculture in the area. The solution is to initiate a green village in collaboration with PKK Gendingan RT 03/XVI Jebres. This activity is based on urban farming which has purposive to improving the economy and ecology in the Jebres. Urban farming is implemented through the agricultural extension on processing agricultural waste and household waste into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) using the stacked bucket technique. The method uses a participatory extension. The activities are held at the Gendingan Jebres Building began with an explanation of waste management. Then this activity continued with the practice of processing agricultural waste and household waste into POC. POCs are ready to be harvested after two months since the waste was first processed using the stacked bucket technique. This activity is held from August to October 2020, and in October 2020 participants can harvest POC. POC is used with a composition of three POC spoons for one liter of water. This POC can be produced further and is useful for improving the participant's economy. In addition, POC can also be used as plant fertilizer which has an impact on improving the participant's environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to provide knowledge, understanding, skills and proficiency to members of the Bumi Garbage Bank in waste bank management and creativity in creating waste recycling. Materials presented in the waste bank creation management and training include: (1) Waste delivery mechanism; (2) Mechanism at the waste bank; (3) types of waste with economic value; (4) Waste recycling; (5) magot cultivation. Before the activity was carried out, the participants' knowledge regarding waste bank management was limited to depositing it with the dealer or industry and experienced additional knowledge as: (1) Recycling into handicrafts such as flowerpots, wall hangings and organic fertilizers; (2) Magot cultivation which can increase economic income; (3) Facilities and infrastructure that can support the sustainability of the waste bank. Besides adding information, from this activity participants also received training on how to make plastic bottles into beautiful flowerpots and manage organic waste into fertilizer and magot feed. Based on this, it can be concluded that this service activity is able to provide valuable and cognitively positive experiences to increase the creativity of participants. Affectively growing awareness, concern for the environment and willingness to manage waste to become economically valuable.
