Abstract

The purpose of this study identified the activities of the Family Planning Village Population, Family Planning and Family Development program in Middle Aceh District. The study location were grouped according to the Geographic Difficulties Index of the Central Bureau of Statistics. Research data collection uses qualitative methods, namely interviews, documentation, and observations with the Village Head / Geuchik (informant 1), extension / coach of the Family Planning Village (informant 2), and management of the Family Planning Village (informant 3). The results of this study indicate that the implementation of family planning village activities in the village is of high difficulty and is not difficult geographically has been relatively active, namely the management and mentor and companion of the family planning village to work well and directed, while the villages with moderate difficulty level geographically less active. Generally, the activities of the Family Planning Village carried out are posyandu, posbindu, elderly gymnastics and other activities. The activities of the Prosperous Family Income Improvement Group are also not yet implemented, where the activity is expected to empower the village community economically. Cross-sectoral activities have also not been implemented and coordinated well, it seems that there is no program that can be felt directly even though the commitment at the beginning of the declaration has been carried out.

Abstract

Abstract - This study aims at investigating the extent of cumulative causation effect on economic growth disparity across the regions: Basajan-Pijay, Northeast, South-West, and Central-Inland in the Aceh Province, Indonesia. It also includes some others factors in determining economic growth disparity such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, the concentration of economic activity areas, Human Development Index (HDI), the labour productivity of the region, the allocation of public investment as well as the accessibility among regions in the Aceh Province. To capture the goals of this study, it uses panel data during the period 2000 to 2010 consisting of 23 districts/cities of Aceh Province. The results show that the potential conditions for convergence because the dominant factor affecting the disparity without entering variable cumulative effect, the concentration of economic activity among regions have positive and negatively affected HDI. By entering variable cumulative effects, it turns HDI to have a negative effect, while the cumulative effect of the growth of inter-regional and the GDP per capita were positive. Thus, it can be said that the economic disparity among regions has the potential for convergence if and only if there is a policy intervention by the government in improving the quality of education, health, and consumer purchasing power to reduce the disparity. It is recommended that the Government of Aceh and District/City Government should encourage the growth of GDP per year, equal to or above the average growth of the national economy in order to increase labour productivity so that economic prosperity has also increased (spread effect is greater than backwash effect) because workings of the cumulative effect of growth within the region and among regions. Keywords      :   Disparity, Backwash effect, Spread Effect, Economic Growth, AcehPaper Type :     Research Paper

Abstract

The study aims to identify export base sectors and to analyse its impact to the economic growth based on the Cobb Douglas production function. Some relevant theories to support our arguments among others are base sector, export base and economic growth theory. Data of central government capital spending (CGB), local government capital spending (LGB), export average price (Pavg), provincial minimum wage (W) and linear multiple regression model is employed. The results show that the agriculture is the only basis sector in Aceh. The role of local government capital spending in the export based commodity supply  contradicts the theory, provided indication that the local government capital spending has not been able to pull the economic growth. The role of central government capital spending, export average price and minimum wage have been in accordance with the available theoretical background. All independent variables are found to be statistically significant both partially and simultaneously, indicating that those variables are economically important to develop export base sectors in Aceh, however the impact on economic growth is relatively small. Keywords: export base sector, supply for export, economic growth, Aceh

Abstract

This study aims to investigate factors affecting interregional trade of agricultural commodities between regions in West Sumatera, Indonesia. For this purpose, this study use modified gravity model. There are four commodities that represent interregional trade of agricultural commodities in this study, namely: rice, chicken egg, broiler and fresh sea fish. This study uses cross section data of the 15 regencies/city in West Sumatera. The data is obtained from survey to wholesaler group of agricultural commodities in West Sumatera (primary data). The result of this study shows that factors affecting interregional trade in West Sumatera are: the difference in price (for commodities: rice, chicken egg and broiler), transportation costs (for commodities: broiler and fresh sea fish).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the role and the effect of hotel and restaurant taxes on Banda Aceh’s local own source revenue. Its role will be focused on analyzing tax contribution, the efficiency and effectiveness of tax collection system. Meanwhile, its effect on local own source revenue can be identified by regression analysis for 27 years (1984-2010). The results show that the average contribution of hotel and restaurant taxes is still relatively low. Moreover, the system of tax collection in Banda Aceh has been performed efficiently and effectively. But, there is a gap between the potentiality and the realization of taxes. Furthermore, hotel and restaurant taxes are statistically significant influenced local own source revenue. Therefore, government should pay more attention to improve the tax administration system in the future, enhance the quality of tax administrator, increase tax efforts intensively than extensively, and implement rewards and punishment on the overall systems. In sum, the role and the effect of hotel and restaurant taxes can induce Banda Aceh’s local own source revenue. Keywords: Hotel and restaurant taxes, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Effect of Tax, Local Own Source Revenue

Abstract

This study investigates factors affecting Indonesian oil and gas export to six main importing countries. A simultaenuous equation model containing demand and supply equation is used to analyze the problem. A two-stage least squares method is employed to estimate the model. The results show that exchange rate does not statistically influence Indonesian oil and gas export demanded. It also finds that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of importing countries and Indonesian oil and gas price statistically affect the demand. From the supply model analysis, price statistically affects Indonesian oil and gas export supplied. In addition, Indonesian oil and gas production influences the supply. Keywords: Oil and gas export, simultaneous equation model, exchange rate, GDP.JEL classification number: F40, Q41AbstrakStudi ini menyelidiki faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ekspor minyak dan gas Indonesia ke enam negara importir utama.

Abstract

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to influence the real wage rate and economic growth on job opportunities in industrial sectors especially large, medium, and small. Estimation of research using robust least square technique. Data in the study from 2000 to 2014. The results show that economic growth has an increased impact on employment opportunities in the industrial sector. Different results found real wages that have a positive impact. This gives the meaning of a high real wage giving more absorption. Furthermore, the small industrial sector is more vulnerable to labor shortages if economic growth declines.

Abstract

AbstractThe study aimed to analyze the influence of exchange rate, Inflation, capital and labor force on economic growth in Indonesia. The data in this study are secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics and Bank Indonesia which include data on the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar, inflation, gross domestic fixed capital formation, and labor rate. Analysis of this research based on the Cobb-Douglas Production Function by using the ordinary least square method (OLS) recursively. The results showed that the capital positively affects economic growth. By recursive method, inflation and exchange rate have a significant effect on economic growth. Inflation in particular has a significant negative impact on economic growth through interest rates and capital. However, the amount of labor has no significant effect on economic growth. This means that the government needs to reduce the inflation rate to be able to reduce the interest rate to increase the amount of capital and ultimately increase economic growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the factors that influence the number of domestic and foreign tourist visits and to measure the value of willingness to pay for the benefits of tourism objects in Banda Aceh by using the Travel Cost Method Approach. The type of data used is primary and secondary data. Primary data obtained by non-probability sampling, obtained as many as 30 domestic tourists and foreign tourists as many as 30 people, with the method of analysis of ordinary least square (OLS). Secondary data was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency, Tourism Office and other study literature. The results showed that for domestic tourists, the independent variables on travel costs, alternative costs, time costs, and income had significant effect on the number of domestic tourist visits with an R² value of 0.690. In foreign tourists, the independent variables of travel costs, alternative costs, and income have a significant effect on the number of visits, while the cost of time has no effect on the value of R² 0.693. The average value of WTP of foreign tourists is greater than that of domestic tourists, namely domestic tourists with a WTP of 4,000,000 rupiahs while foreign tourists are 217,000,000 rupiah. Given the large contribution of tourism to the economic conditions in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, the government should maintain and pay attention to the conditions of tourism objects and improve tourism facilities so that tourists reach the maximum level of utility so that it will increase the value of PAPs.
