Abstract

Background: Vitamin C is a vitamin that is water soluble qnd one vitamin that are needed by the body. To meet the intake of vitamin C needed source of vitamin a derived from fruits, one of which is banana. Part of the banana , which is still rarely used is its skin. Banana peel is very beneficial for health however the situation is only considered as waste that has not been utilized well. This study aims to determine the levels of vitamin C on the skin of the banana (Musa paradisiaca) by the method of spectrofotometry uv-visible wavelength 224,5 nm. Method: This research use experimental with purely research stage comprise sample preparation, qualitative test, making the solution of the parent raw, quantitative test, determination of wavelength of maximum vitamin and creation of calibration surve. Result: Based on the research that has been done obtained the result of the qualitative test to prove the presence of high content of vitamin C contained in banana peels, with the highest level obtained in the skin of the plantain by 0,0253 mg/ml and the levels of the lowest on a banana peel the wax by 0,0172 ng/ml. Discussion: Levels of vitamin C on the skin of the banana barangan of 0, 0219 mg/ml, sample a banana skin banten by 0, 0173 mg/ml, sample a banana peel wax by 0, 0172 mg/ml and sample the skin of plantain by 0, 0253 mg/ml.

Abstract

Lip balm preparatios can contain active ingredients that aim to protect the lips from extreme weather and hot sun. The active ingredient added to lip balm preparations can use natural ingredients from nature or pure chemical compounds. Natural ingredients have the advantage of having minimal side effects for long-term use. So that natural ingredients are currently the prima donna in the formulation of cosmetic preparations, including lip balm preparations. The properties of pomegranate skin protect and repair lips in lip balm preparations. pomegranate peel (Punica granatum L.) as a natural colorant and utilizes olive oil (Olive oil) as an emollient or moisturizer formulated in lip balm preparations. The results showed that all homogeneous lip balm preparations had a pH of 5.6-6.1 and were stable for 12 weeks of storage. Lip balm preparations with 10% concentration of pomegranate peel extract can provide the best lip moisturizing effect to restore lip skin once a week after application for 4 weeks. All preparations of pomegranate peel extract lip balm do not irritate the skin.

Abstract

Sintrong (Crassocephalum crepidioides) merupakan kelompok tanaman dengan batang lunak yang dipercaya bisa mengobati berbagai macam penyakit, seperti gangguan pencernaan, sakit kepala, sakit perut, mengobati luka, antelmetik, antiinflamasi, antidiabetes, dan antimalaria. Daun sintrong mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu flavonoid yang diketahui memiliki aktivitas sebagai antiinflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas antiiinflmasi ekstrak etanol daun sintrong (Crassocephalum crepidiodes) terhadap mencit putih jantan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu Natrium Diklofenak, kontrol negatif Na-Cmc 0,5 %, dan EEDS dosis 100, 200 dan 300 mg/kgBB. Data hasil penelitian dihitung persen radang dan persen inhibisi radang. Data dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan metode Anova dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa EEDS 300 mg/kgBB memiliki inhibisi radang paling besar dibanding ekstrak 100 dan 200 mg/kgBB. Hasil uji one way Anova menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan (P>0,05) antar kelompok perlakuan. Hasil uji Duncan menunjukkan kelompok yang memberikan efektivitas antiinflamasi terbaik adalah kontrol positif dan EEDS 300 mg/kgBB.

Abstract

Streptococcus mutans, one of the normal microflora in the mouth. However, if it is influenced by predisposing factors, it will become a pathogen. Bidara leaves have antimicrobial activity against Streptococcus mutans, because bidara leaves contain various compounds including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins. The purpose of this study was to determine how much inhibition was produced by bidara leaf extract on the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria. This research method is an experimental study using the disc diffusion method. The sample of this study was Streptococcus mutans, the dilution of bidara leaf extract consisted of 4 concentrations including: 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%. Amoxicillin was used for positive control. Based on the results of observations showed that the average diameter of the inhibition zone of bidara leaf extract at a concentration of 20% with a diameter of 11,50 mm, at a concentration of 40% and 60% with a diameter of 12,50 mm and 16,06 mm, at a concentration of 80% with a diameter of 17,50 mm. It can be concluded that the higher the concentration of bidara leaf extract, the more the inhibition zone formed will increase. So that bidara leaves are good for use in treating infections caused by Streptococcus mutans bacteria.

Abstract

Pharmacist pharmaceutical services for patients related to pharmaceutical preparations in order to improve the quality of pharmaceutical services in hospitals, the implementation of the Minister of Health Regulation no. 72 of 2016 concerning pharmaceutical service standards at Grandmed Hospitals with patient satisfaction during the Covid 19 2021 pandemic. Hospital pharmacy services involve pharmacists in order to supervise and control all activities related to healing treatment of sufferers in the aim of practicing patient safety standards which include Pharmaceutical supplies management activities starting from demand planning to controlling pharmaceutical supplies as well as clinical pharmacy service activities that are oriented towards reducing the risk of drug use errors in hospitals. This type of design was made by collecting data from 59 visiting patients at a certain point in time. Location at GrandMed Hospital Lubuk Pakam. The data obtained were compared with existing standards in the literature and analyzed using the chi-square test. It is known that out of 25 people (42.4%) respondents stated that clinical pharmacy services were not good. Of the 34 people (57.6%) respondents who stated that clinical pharmacy services were good for each employee, they had been given an understanding regarding clinical pharmacy services which had been socialized every morning briefing to maximize serving patients so that patients were satisfied with the services at Grandmed Hospital. This study can be concluded that the implementation of pmk no. 72 of 2016 there is a relationship between clinical pharmacy services and patient satisfaction during the Covid 19 pandemic at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2021 (pvalue = 0.007).

Abstract

Penggunaan ekstrak tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas antimikroba sangat membantu dalam penyembuhan infeksi, salah satu tanaman yang memiliki kemampuan sebagai antibakteri sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) dan batang serai (Cymbopogon citratus). S. aureus merupakan salah satu jenis bakteri patogen yang dapat menyebabkan infeksi yang serius dan kelainan pada kulit pada kondisi yang memungkinkan, seperti timbulnya jerawat dan bisul. Melihat dampak dari bakteri S. aureus bagi kesehatan manusia, maka perlu dilakukannya pengendalian terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri terebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri dengan menggunakan metode maserasi dan difusi disk pada ekstrak batang serai dan daun terhadap bakteri S. aureus. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitaif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat kombinasi ekstrak etanol serai dan daun sirih hijau dengan berbagai konsentrasi terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi ekstrak etanol batang serai dan Daun sirih hijau dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus dengan menggunakan metode disc diffusion serta diameter zona hambat yang terbentuk pada formula 3 konsentrasi 8% dengan rata-rata diameter 7,90 mm dan kontrol positif Ciprofloxacin sangat kuat dengan rata-rata diameter 24,92 mm. Formula konsentrasi yang efektif pada kombinasi ekstrak etanol Batang serai (Cymbopogon citratus) dan Daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus adalah dengan formula 4 konsentrasi 10% Batang serai dan 15% Daun sirih hijau dengan rata-rata diameter 17,90 mm
