Abstract

Abstract Science and technology learning should not just provide a collection of facts, laws and theories but rather is a process conducted by the students to acquire knowledge through interaction with the surrounding environment. The students are trained in scientific thinking critically, creatively and independently through active and meaningful learning process, for example by using the environment as a learning resource. This study aims to develop learning equipments oriented higher-order thinking skills (critical and creative) to explore the potential of biological resources of Tunda island, as a learning resource in the subject of Biotechnology. This study used research and development (R & D) method, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, validation and revision. Learning equipments that produced are RPS (lesson plans for 1 semester), the student worksheets (LKM), and evaluation (test) instruments. The results of the validation team of experts showed that the learning equipments are good categorized, with the values 77.14 for RPS, 85 for LKM, and 94 for instrument test. Criticisms and suggestions from the experts were used as the basis of revision, so that the learning equipments are eligible for learning. Keywords: Research and Development, Tunda Island, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Biotechnology Subject

Abstract

 AbstractBiotechnology learning can be use the learning environment as a learning resource. The potential of the surrounding environment can train the mindset and independence of learners in improving active and meaningful learning. One of the emerging environments for biotechnology learning is the biological resources on the island of Tunda. This study aimed to develop the ability to improve the abilities of the biodiversity of Tunda Island. This research used research and development method (R & D, research and development) consisting of analysis, development, evaluation and revision. The developed questions consisted of 12 questions based on high-level thinking indicators. High-level thinking skills were tested on students who have enrolled 23 biotech students. The questions are then analyzed based on reliability, validity, distinguishing power and difficulty level. The result of test analysis about the obtained reliability of the question of 0.44 with enough category, validity of valid questions (significant) are 7 questions, while for the distinguishing power, the questions with very good category as many as 3 questions, the questions with good category as many as 2 questions, the questions with good enough category as many as 4 questions and the questions with bad category as many as 3 questions.In addition, for the level of difficulty of the problem there are only two categories that are easy 2 questions and 10questionsis  moderatecategoryKeywords: Research and Development, Tunda Island, Higher Order Thingking, Biotechnology

Abstract

Research was conducted to obtain information about the scope of aspects of context in the curriculum biology 2013 used by students class X serang city in the chapter on environmental pollution and waste recycling.Aspects of context that consist of the scope of context (personal, local and global) and discussion of the field of science regarding health and disease, natural resources, environmental quality, hazards and limits of science and technology. This research is a descriptive study that uses document analysis methods to describe the emergence of context aspects in the material component of the environmental assessment chapter contained in the analyzed textbook. Assessment of analysis uses instruments that have been adjusted to the content of scientific literacy in the PISA 2015 draft. Analysis of the research data uses descriptive statistics by calculating the number of analysis components that are in accordance with indicators of aspects of the context. The results of the analysis show, the two textbooks have applied content aspects of context with an unbalanced percentage. The scope of the dominating context is global space of 71.6%, and context of the discussion about hazards is 41.7%. Whereas the aspect of  context that is very few emerges is in the local / national context space of 4.6% and in the context of the field of discussion in the field of science which has a slight appearance of natural resources of 4.7%.Keywords : aspects of context, biology textbook curriculum 2013, environmental pollution

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jurnal belajar tehadap motivasi belajar dan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi sistem reproduksi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksprimen dengan desain randomized control group pretest-pascatest design.Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Anyar tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 dengan kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkandataadalah angket motivasi belajar, soal tes objektif, jurnal belajar, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Nilai rata-rata jurnal belajar siswa yaitu 73,43.Nilai rata-rata motivasi belajar kelas kontrol dan eksperimen secara berurut yaitu 62,84 dan 76.Nilai rata-rata kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas kontrol dan eksperimen secara berurut yaitu 64 dan 80. Hasil uji t diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh jurnal belajar terhadap motivasi belajar dan kemampuan kognitif siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merevisi dan mendesain ulang Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi sistem sirkulasi manusia untuk siswa SMA kelas XI MIPA serta untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan. Desain penelitian ini mengacu pada model pengembangan Sugiyono yaitu melanjutkan pada tahap revisi desain, dan uji coba produk. Revisi dilakukan meliputi penetapan ulang indikator pencapaian kompetensi pembelajaran, dan langkah-langkah PBL yang difasilitasi di dalam LKS. Hasil validasi ahli materi memperoleh nilai keseluruhan sebesar 81,2% dengan kategori sangat layak, sedangkan validasi ahli media memperoleh nilai keseluruhan sebesar 95% dengan kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan respon siswa terhadap penggunaan LKS berbasis PBL secara keseluruhan adalah 80,7% menunjukkan bahwa LKS berada pada kategori sangat layak

Abstract

Pembelajaran bioteknologi hendaknya tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek produk (konten/isi), yang sebatas memberikan suatu kumpulan fakta, hukum dan teori namun perlu melibatkan aspek proses, yakni mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir, sikap, dan psikomotor. Mahasiswa dilatih berpikir ilmiah secara kritis, kreatif dan mandiri melalui pembelajaran aktif dan bermakna, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (higher order thinking skills) mahasiswa pada pembelajaran bioteknologi dalam konteks pemanfaatan potensi lokal sumber daya hayati Pulau Tunda, Kabupaten Serang, Banten, dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah bioteknologi semester genap Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 sebanyak 70 orang.Kemampuan berpikir mahasiswa diukur menggunakan instrumen soal tes uraian, yang meliputi indikator interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, inferensi, elaborasi (memerinci), dan berpikir lancar (fluency). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata berdasarkan keseluruhan indikator adalah sebesar 66.89 (cukup). Dilihat dari setiap indikatornya, inferensi sebesar 91.79 (sangat baik), elaborasi 81.43 (baik), analisis 66.33 (cukup), interpretasi dan berpikir lancar termasuk kurang, masing-masing dengan nilai 57.88 dan 55, serta evaluasi termasuk sangat kurang dengan nilai sebesar 49.14.

Abstract

Critical understanding merupakan salah satu kategori literasi media. Media yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah media sosial facebook. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil critical understanding siswa SMA melalui media sosial facebook sebagai upaya dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran abad 21. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis dan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu 98 siswa yang berasal dari 7 (tujuh) SMA yang mewakili masing-masing akreditasi A, B, dan C di Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data non tes melalui angket, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui uji derajat kepercayaan dan kebergantungan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model analisis Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa critical understanding siswa SMA se-Kota Serang melalui situs jejaring sosial facebook berada pada level advance dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 72, 82. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa telah memiliki kemampuan memahami, menganalisis, hingga mengevaluasi konten dan elemen media yang digunakan

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the students' interest and cognitive ability through the implementation of comic media on the environmental pollution concept at one of Junior High School in Serang City, Indonesia. The method used in this study is a descriptive research. The subject in this study was class VII.2. The class was chosen because of the information from the subject teacher that it has students who are less active in learning and obtained the lowest average score of all class VII in the first semester. The data collection technique used non-test instruments in observation sheets and questionnaires to determine the students' interest. The test instrument was in multiple-choice questions and open-ended essay to determine the students' cognitive ability. The results showed students' interest as measured by observation and questionnaires were in the high category with 56% and 88%, respectively. The average value of the students' cognitive ability is 65.59, with a good category. It can be concluded that the implementation of comic media can foster students' interest in learning. The results of this study can be a suggestion for curriculum developers to use comics as an alternative media for an exciting learning process. Future studies can focus more on specific comic components that can attract students' attention in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa melalui pembelajaran PjBL yang diintegrasikan dengan STEM. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel penelitian yaitu mahasiswa yang mengambil MK Anfisman, yang dipilih dengan cara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah berupa soal essay. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa terdapat 19% termasuk kategori cukup, 29% kategori kurang dan 57% kategori sangat kurang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa ketika mengerjakan soal-soal yang berkaitan dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah biologi adalah kesalahan mentransformasikan informasi, kesalahan keterampilan proses, dan kesalahan memahami soal.
