Abstract

Abstract

The experimentally research was governed to estimate the external (source) and internal signal combined system without separate each other. Referring to that, the Lumped Parameter System (LPS) analytical modeling method by Matko et al (2001) as looked as possible is significance and accurately to estimate the internal pressure or difference pressure fluctuation of fluid lines. By using the LPS method were known that the horizontal fluid lines dynamic system with longitudinal grooves number variation (in fractal geometry image) for which will be used as an object in this research are fulfilled as a low frequency model class and small gain pressure fluctuation for every measurement acquisition result It’s properly in the LPS modeling method, the hydraulic fluid lines should be looked as a compressible fluid and over pass storage of energy charging so the response is not only affected by resistance but also by inductanc e and capacitance of the fluid. The three fluid elements respectively for a pipeline length unit are constant, have positive values eventually and modified as a function of the pipeline hydraulic diameter. It’s confirmed that the result could be given to predict the locally linearly stability character of the fluid flow energy flux different between upstream and downstream pipeline positions.Keyword: Energy flux different stability, hydraulic flow, horizontal pipeline, Longitudina grooves number variation, Lumped parameter system analytical modeling

Abstract

The combination between treatment time of the addition and directon fiber orientation wasused to get maximum mechanical properties of Purun Tikus fiber composites. The purpose ofthis study was to construct composite of polyester matrix and Purun tikus natural fiber by mixing2 % KMnO4 with 1 liter aquades for 15 minutes and 30 minutes. It is applied to determine tensile strength and flexural strength. The variation of volume fiber fraction are 20%, 30%, and 40%. The directon of Purun Tikus fiber are 0 and 90%, and the polyester matrix type 157 BTQN with1% concentration of MEXPO hardener. The dimension of tensile specimen refered to standart ASTM D638-03. The flexural strength was obtained trough bending test based on ASTM 790-03. The combination of these 2 variables can improve interfacial adhesion between fiber andmatrix. The highest tensile strength was 2% KMNO4 for 15 minutes of natural fiber composites Purun Tikus with volume 40@ about 55.54 N/mm2. The variation of 2% KMnO4 for 30 minutes the volume fraction of 40% was 41.07 N/mm2. The obtained of variation without KMnO4 treatment and fraction volume 40% about 40.03 N/mm2 The highest flexural strength of the composite fiber Purun tikus in the variation treatment 2% KMnO4 for 15 minutes with the volume fraction 40% was 119.70 N/mm2, for 30 minutes the fraction volume 40% was 80.88N/mm2, and the fraction volume 40% without treatment was 62.66 N/mm2.Keywords:purun tikus fibers, kalium permanganate, polyester, tensile strength & amp; flexuralstength

Abstract

Pressure distribution along a series of guide and runner blade passages of the Francis turbine are useful to be known in order to predict flowing water pressure through the passages whether the pressure under the vapor pressure or not. Furthermore, when at any section of the passages the water pressure under the vapor pressure a cavitations will occur. In this study, the pressure of flowing water throughout the blade passages were measured at four sections along the passages by using four mercury deflection manometers and conditions of the flowing water were recorded by using a stroboscope and camera. The turbine was operated at 5 different heads with the same guide blade openings. Water pressures at the inlet and outlet turbine were measured by a Bourdon manometer of each. The flow rates were measured by using an orifice plate equipped with a mercury deep well manometer. The forces were measured by using a prony brake and turbine rotations were detected by using a digital tachometer. The result of the research state that head drop on the guide and runner blades, and turbine efficiency changing as the head, flow rate and turbine speed changed. The head drop on the runner was greater than that on the guide blade. Cavitations were not occoured because the lower pressure along the passages were still higher than vapor pressure. Water pressure decreased from the guide blade inlet to the runner outlet. Keywords : Francis turbine, Pressure distribution, guide and runner passages, head drop, cavitations, efficiency.

Abstract

The process of extracting oil from the leaves or stems cells by damaging the cell which usually done before or during distillation process. Damaging the cell can be done by mechanical process or freezing process. Chopping the leaves was done to damage the cells through the mechanical process, however the damage have not been able to destroy up to the celular level. While the freezing process could be expected to damage the tissue at the cellular level. Pure research on laboratory scale was used as the experiment method in this study. Freezing temperature pasca-distillation was variated on -13,4 ºC, -19,6 ºC and -24,8 ºC and without freezing process. While distillation process was varied on 95 ºC, 105 ºC dan 115 ºC. In this study, patchouli was distilled on wet and dry condition. LPG was used with automatically combustion control system of for keeping the temperature stability, increasing the capacity and quality of patchouli oil and reducing the production cost and the distillation time to less than 6 hours The stable distillation temperature was able to raise the volume of oil per kilogram of dry weight raw material and decrease the distillation time to less than 5 hours. Patchouli oil volume produced per kilogram of dry raw materials post freeze predistillation increased with increasing the distillation temperature. The low freezing temperature of the pre-distillation produced the high volume of patchouli oil per kilogram of raw material. Pre-distillation on the freezing process of dried patchouli was able to shorten the time of maximum distillation only in 3 hours. The range of distillation temperature on 95 ⁰C, 105 ⁰C and 115 ⁰C produced the different colors of patchouli oil from light brown to dark brown color. Keywords : optimalisation, distillation, dry patchouli, freeze pre-distillation
