Abstract

Perceraian adalah pemutusan hubungan pernikahan secara legal. Dampak dari perceraian bukan hanya dirasakan oleh suami dan istri, namun juga oleh anak dari keluarga itu termasuk mereka yang sedang dalam tahap perkembangan remaja. Remaja membutuhkan dispositional forgiveness untuk dapat mengurangi resiko akibat perasaan negatif yang dirasakan. Pada konteks ini dispositional forgiveness pada remaja dikaitkan dengan sikap mindfulness remaja mengenai kondisi keluarga setelah perceraian orang tuanya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara mindfulness dan dispositional forgiveness pada remaja dengan orang tua bercerai. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 54 remaja berusia 15-21 tahun yang mengalami perceraian orang tua dalam rentang usia 12-21 tahun. Teknik sampling yang digunakan untuk mencari partisipan adalah convenience sampling. Alat ukur 15-items Five Facets of Mindfulness dan Heartland Forgiveness Scale digunakan untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian. Uji korelasi dilakukan terhadap data yang diperoleh dari kedua alat ukur ini. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara mindfulness dan dispositional forgiveness pada remaja dengan orang tua bercerai. Mindfulness dapat membantu individu untuk mengidentifikasi dan menerima perasaan serta pikirannya sehingga membantu terjadinya dispositional forgiveness dalam individu. Peneliti menjabarkan beberapa saran yang penting untuk dipertimbangkan untuk penelitian selanjutnya. Divorce is the legal dissolution of a marital relationship. Divorce does not only affect both husband and wife, but also the children, including those who’s going through adolescence. In order to decrease the detrimental effect caused by the negative feelings towards their parents’ divorce, adolescents need to have dispositional forgiveness. In this context, dispositional forgiveness in adolescent can be related to mindfulness about their family condition after the divorce. The purpose of this study is to see whether there is a significant relationship between mindfulness and dispositional forgiveness among adolescents of divorced parents. The participants of this study were 54 middle and late adolescents that went through parental divorcement in the age of 12-21. The participants were obtained by convenience sampling technique. Fifteen items Five Facets of Mindfulness and Heartland Forgiveness Scale were used to answer the purpose of this study. A correlational test was performed to analyze data. Correlation test results show that there is a significant relationship between mindfulness and dispositional forgiveness among adolescents of divorced parents. Mindfulness can help adolescents identify and accept their feelings and thoughts, which can lead into dispositional forgiveness in adolescents. Researcher outlined some important suggestions to be considered for future research.

Abstract

Appropriate support can be provided by parents if early adolescents self-disclose from parents. However, through self-disclosure, early adolescents also need to perceive their parents as individuals who are able to accept their self-disclosure and are able to provide support. Therefore, parents need to show supportive communication that can encourage the desire of adolescents to perform self-disclosure. The purpose of this study is to see whether there is a significant relationship between early adolescent’s self-disclosure and early adolescent’s perception of supportive parental communication. The participants of this study were 614 early adolescents within the age range of 13-15 years who had undergone education, living with both parents, and domiciled in Jakarta. The participants were obtained through a non-probability sampling method by convenience sampling technique. To answer the purpose of this study, The Jourard Self-Disclosure Questionnaire and the Parental Supportive Communication Scale were used to conduct a correlation test. The correlation test results indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between early adolescent’s self-disclosure and early adolescent’s perception of supportive parental communication. For future research, the researchers outlined some important suggestions to be considered.

Abstract

Friends played significant role due to middle adolescents tended to imitate behaviour of their friends including the risk behaviour. Parental monitoring could minimize the risk. However, the excessive unreasonable parental monitoring tended to increase risk behaviour of middle adolescents. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to know whether perceived parental monitoring had a significant relationship with risk behaviour among middle adolescents. This study used quantitative method with two measuring instruments in the form of a questionnaire, Parental Monitoring Questionnaire which consisted of 25 items to measure parental monitoring and Adolescence Risk Behaviour Questionnaire which consisted of 15 items to measure risk behaviour. The participants in this study were 105 male senior high school student age 15-17 years, who lived with both of their parents in Jakarta. Correlation test results showed that there was a significant relationship between perceived parental monitoring and substance use, premarital sex, and criminal behaviour among middle adolescents. Based on these results, the researcher presented some discussion materials and the suggestions that needed to be considered for further research.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kekerasan seksual yang pernah dialami ibu pada masa kanak-kanak dapat berdampak negatif pada kehidupannya, terutama dalam menjalankan peran pengasuhan anak. Individu yang mengalami kekerasan seksual umumnya merasa kurang aman dan kurang mampu dalam mengendalikan lingkungannya.  Pada ibu, dampak psikologis ini berkaitan dengan keyakinan bahwa ia dapat memberikan pengasuhan yang baik untuk anak-anaknya, yang disebut dengan parenting self-efficacy. Dukungan sosial dibutuhkan untuk mengurangi dampak negatif dari pengalaman masa lalu tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meneliti hubungan antara parenting self-efficacy dan dukungan sosial pada para ibu yang mengalami kekerasan seksual saat masa kanak-kanak. Penelitian ini menggunakan 36 pertanyaan Self-Efficacy for Parenting Tasks Index dan 40 pertanyaan Interpersonal Support Evaluation List untuk menguji korelasi antarkedua hal tersebut. Hasil tes korelasi menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara parenting self-efficacy dan dukungan sosial pada para ibu yang mengalami kekerasan seksual pada masa kanak-kanak (r=0.709; p=0.000, L.o.S 0.01). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa para ibu yang mengalami kekerasan seksual masa kanak-kanak membutuhkan dukungan sosial berkelanjutan untuk dapat mengasuh anak-anaknya dengan parenting self-efficacy yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu, dukungan sosial bagi para ibu, penyintas kekerasan seksual, sangat penting karena berdampak pada masa depan penyintas tersebut dan juga individu lain yang dipengaruhi oleh penyintas tersebut. Kata kunci: ibu, parenting self-efficacy, kekerasan seksual masa kanak-kanak, dukungan sosial

Abstract

First-year students face academic and social challenges which will undermine their motivation to learn and emotional adjustment. Friends’ support helps them to cope which then influences their academic performance. This study aimed to investigate relations between friends’ support and academic performance, as mediated by a motivation to learn and emotional adjustment. Participants were 327 first-year university students at the end of their first year, recruited from random cluster sampling. Datawereanalyzed using Sobel Test indicated that motivation to learn and emotional adjustment fully mediated the relationship between friendship quality and academic performance, between lack of intimacy with friends and academic performance, and between conflict with friends and academic performance. Friends provide support which enables students to have discussion to solve their difficulties in facing academic challenges and to disclose their thoughts and feelings to face their emotional challenges. We recommend that further studies collect the data from students in each year and universities to design a curriculum that promotes supportive collaboration among students.

Abstract

Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) merupakan guru yang berwenang dalam memberikan bantuan psikologis terhadap siswa secara ilmiah dan profesional di sekolah. Namun peran yang ditampilkan guru BK saat ini tampak belum maksimal kerena masih ditemukannya berbagai keluhan mengenai kompetensi yang ditampilkan guru BK baik dari pimpinan sekolah, guru BK sendiri, maupun dari siswa yang menerima layanan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami gambaran persepsi guru BK lulusan pendidikan strata satu Bimbingan Konseling terhadap kompetensi dalam berperan sebagai guru BK yang bekerja di Kota Jakarta Selatan.Penelitian ini berupa deskriptif dengan metode kombinasi (mixed methods) tipe explanatory design. Pengumpulan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner yang disusun peneliti untuk memperoleh data numerik.  Terdapat satu kuesioner yang digunakan yaitu persepsi terhadap kompetensi guru BK (91 item, α=0.986). Teknik sampling incidental digunakan saat pengumpulan data kuantitatif terhadap 100 orang guru BK dan teknik homogeneous sampling saat pengumpulan data kualitatif terhadap 3 orang dari perwakilan kategori.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa umumnya guru BK mempersepsikan bahwa kompetensi yang dimilikinya berada pada taraf sedang dalam berperan sebagai guru BK di Jakarta Selatan. Hasil analisis data primer berupa pengolahan deskriptif didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat satu sub domain dari area pengetahuan dan lima sub domain dari area keterampilan yang masih membutuhkan penguatan berupa pelatihan. Data kualitatif menunjukkan hal yang serupa. Hal ini berarti bahwa guru BK masih memiliki pandangan bahwa kompetensi yang dimilikinya masih berada ditaraf cukup, namun masih membutuhkan berbagai pengembangan untuk memaksimalkan kualitas pemberian layanan bimbingan konseling di sekolah.

Abstract

Perselingkuhan dalam pernikahan adalah kondisi di mana ketika salah satu pasangan melanggar komitmen dalam hubungan pernikahan, meliputi satu atau lebih elemen yaitu kerahasiaan, aktivitas seksual, dan keterlibatan emosional, berlangsung dalam jangka waktu tertentu. Perselingkuhan merupakan alasan utama perceraian di Jabodetabek. Namun, tidak semua perselingkuhan berakhir dengan perceraian. Self-forgiveness dijelaskan sebagai proses yang membuat pelaku perselingkuhan mengakui kesalahan dan berusaha memperbaiki diri. Penelitian sebelumnya lebih banyak membahas dampak pada korban padahal pelaku juga mengalaminya, seperti dikucilkan, malu dan bersalah. Untuk dapat menghadapi dampak tersebut, self-forgiveness merupakan kunci bagi pelaku yang ingin mempertahankan rumah tangganya dengan cara mengakhiri perselingkuhan. Hal tersebut menjadi tanda bahwa dia mempertimbangkan makna hidup (meaning in life) yang dimiliki terutama tujuan menikah sehingga mampu memaknai perselingkuhan sebagai masa lalu yang dijadikan pelajaran untuk memperbaiki pernikahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat gambaran dinamika self-forgiveness dan meaning in life pada pelaku perselingkuhan dalam pernikahan. Penelitian dilakukan pada pelaku perselingkuhan yang tetap pada ikatan pernikahan, kedua pihak saling mengetahui perselingkuhan, sudah mengakhiri perselingkuhannya dan memiliki orientasi seksual heteroseksual. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed-methods. Sebanyak 27 partisipan diperoleh menggunakan teknik sampling non-probabilty. Uji korelasi dilakukan dalam penelitian ini dan hasilnya terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-forgiveness dan meaning in life pada pelaku perselingkuhan dalam pernikahan. Sebanyak empat partisipan diperoleh melalui teknik purposeful sampling. Hasil analisis data kualitatif mampu menjelaskan gambaran self-forgiveness dan meaning in life pada pelaku perselingkuhan dalam pernikahan.

Abstract

Thesis writing problem at XYZ University has emerged since a few years ago. Therefore, this study aims to understand the existing conditions in the field regarding stress conditions, causes, coping strategies, and expected social support. This research uses the mixed methodology, involving XYZ University students who cannot complete their thesis in two semesters (including “Seminar”). Based on data from 84 students who participated, is known that the main obstacles are difficult in writing down ideas to a scientific form, bad relationship with the thesis advisor, courses that should be taken, and emergency psychological disorders symptoms. Furthermore, the most used coping strategy is emotional-focused coping. While the most expected social support is emotional support, networking (e.g., study groups) and information (e.g., feedback, discussion, and suggestions), qualitative data shows that "deadline" is essential to motivate students in completing a thesis. This research provides an intervention plan to help the students to complete their thesis. For example, the university manager can provide a system and providing facilities that can help these students to complete their thesis. Also, it also requires an emphasis on scientific writing tasks carried out in small groups or individually to students, with the aim of honing students' scientific writing skills before finally taking thesis.

Abstract

Mothers are expected to have good relationships with their adolescents. However, there aremany conflicts between mothers and their adolescents, which cannot be resolved properly bymothers. Therefore, mothers who have early adolescent child need to have a mindful attitudeto avoid conflicts and resolve conflicts that occur with teenagers. The aim of this study is tofind out the relationship between mindfulness and conflict among mothers who haveadolescents aged 13-15 years. Participants in this study were 118 mothers who haveadolescents aged 13-15 years, which were collected using 15-item Five Facet MindfulnessQuestionnaire (FFMQ-15) and Konflik Ibu-Anak (KIA) and convenience sampling method.Correlation analysis show that there is a significant negative relationship between mindfulnessand conflict among mothers who have adolescents aged 13-15 years (r(117) = -0.272; p <0.05,one-tailed). This finding confirmed previous study, that the mor mindfulness the mother is, themore mother aware and process her emotion, and the less conflict they she has with herdaughter. It is recommended that further analysis needed to the context of respondents.
