Abstract

: This study aims to explore the message or principle of Thomas Aquinas' philosophy of perennialism in education and its relationship to the implementation of student character building at the elementary school level. The method used in this research is literature study. Perennialism philosophy is a philosophy that also has thoughts about how humans must adapt and adapt to changes in the world. The cultivation of personality or character building through the philosophical approach of Perennialism emphasizes how humans behave in accordance with the good values ​​that exist in themselves, character education is very appropriate if it starts from the elementary school education level where elementary school education is the foundation for further education. Perennialism in education is a cultural heritage from the previous generation to the new generation, in the form of eternal values ​​that are not limited by space and time, always aiming to shape the character of students who can adapt to the times without leaving values ​​and culture national personality.

Abstract

Obstacles that occur when teaching early reading in low grades are the lack of media used to help students learn to read and the lack of human resources in the use of technological devices, especially in the current pandemic era. This study aims to develop an Android-based interactive learning media for beginning reading with the help of Articulate Storyline software and determine the feasibility of the learning media. The method used is the Research & Development (R&D) method. The data collection technique was done through a questionnaire, the research instrument used a questionnaire sheet. This study resulted in Android-based applications and products assessed from the feasibility of using media as measured by the quality of content and objectives and instructional quality. Assessors are conducted by peers, on the assessment of the quality of content and objectives, the assessor states that the learning media is in the appropriate category, and based on the instructional quality assessment questionnaire on the trial, the learning media is also declared to be in the appropriate category so that the learning media can be used to assist the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to discuss the motivation of the family environment affecting the character and learning outcomes of elementary school students. Basically, the environment is very influential in shaping a person's attitude and personality, and because each child is a unique person, the family environment and its motivations also affect children's learning behavior. If the child is in a good environment, it will have a positive impact on personality development, learning behavior and education. The purpose of this study is to clarify how much parental motivation can affect the character and learning outcomes of elementary school students. This research was conducted through a literature study, taking into account the results of related journals available in electronic media. The conclusions of this article are as follows: Motivation The family environment plays an important role in shaping the character of basic education students, a harmonious home environment fully supports the process of developing the personality character and learning behavior of children, thus enabling optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hasil dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah soal cerita matematika materi bangun ruang berdasarkan model Polya. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah kelas 5 di MI Tholabiyah Gaji yang terdiri dari 30 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan MI Nurul Huda Sidokumpul yang terdiri dari 30 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yaitu deskriptif eksploratif dengan menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan validitas butir soal, reabilitas tes, dan tingkat kemampuan siswa. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan persentasi tinggi yaitu 63%, persentase sedang yaitu 27%, dan persentase rendah yaitu 10%. Hal ini bisa di simpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah soal cerita model polya mempunyai hasil yang cukup tinggi pada siswa kelas V. Kata kunci: Model Polya, Pemecahan Masalah, Pembelajaran Matematika

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan peserta didik untuk dapat mengaplikasikan pengalaman belajarnya dikelas yang berkaitan dengan literasi statistika matematika dan merujuk pada pengertian, pemahaman, penalaran serta pengetahuan pada materi statistika untuk menghadapi masalah yang harus dipecahkan di kehidupannya sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan ialah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi statistika matematika yang disesuaikan dengan cara berpikir peserta didik sesuai dengan usia perkembangan sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian ini ialah melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstual dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi statistika matematika peserta didik pada jenjang sekolah dasar. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan penilaian hasil pembelajaran dari 39 orang peserta didik, sebanyak 35 orang atau  89,74% peserta didik dapat membaca, menulis, berbicara, menghitung dan memecahkan masalah pada materi statistika matematika yang telah diajarkan secara kontekstual. Penilaian tersebut pada aspek kogitif, afektif dan psikomotorik. Penggunaan pembelajaran kontekstual sebagai upaya untuk mengembangkan penguasaan kemampuan literasi statistika matematika.

Abstract

This research conducted further research on services for children with special needs at MI Muhammadiyah Special Program Schools for Inclusive Education (SPPI), Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency. This research is phenomenological research using qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants in this study were school principals, class teachers, subject teachers, and special supervising teachers who participated in serving children with special needs. Data validity in this research using source triangulation and technique triangulation. While data analysis used qualitative methods, there are data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusion. The results show that ABK services special program use the Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP) and modify/develop special curricula for students with special needs. The facilities and infrastructure are different from ordinary schools, usually, there is a road connection for students with special needs, a special room to help children with special needs, tools for therapy, and computers. games specially designed for students with special needs. The special companion teachers of MI Muhammadiyah Kartasura are by the tasks they will carry out. Trainers with degrees in Psychology, Special Education, and teachers who have attended training courses for inclusive education. MI Muhammadiyah Kartasura District also develops life skills and extracurricular activities

Abstract

Learning mathematics in elementary schools is a subject that is mandatory for students to learn. one of the direct objectives of mathematics lessons which also plays an important role in learning is the inculcation of concepts from mathematics itself. Several previous studies have identified learning difficulties for students in understanding the place value of numbers. Therefore, mathematics learning media on two-digit value material can be developed using interactive media which will be designed and developed with the help of Articulate Storyline. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) using the Borg & Gall development procedure which has been modified into 10 stages, but in this study it was only limited to stage 4. The simplification and limitation of the 10 stages to 4 steps is due to the limited manpower and time factors. The first stage is needs analysis, the second stage is Planning, Product Design Engineering, Design Validation Stage. The results obtained from the validation of material experts. The quality of the content and the purpose of the developed media get a value of 36, 80% with a feasible category. The quality of learning from the developed media gets a score of 20, a percentage of 80% with the appropriate category, the learning media that is developed is in accordance with the context of the application of the place value material for two-digit numbers. While the results of the validation from media experts stated that the technical quality of the media developed received a total score of 56, a percentage of 80% with a feasible category, the learning media developed was declared appropriate and valid for the feasibility test.
