Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has been increasing the demand for creative and innovative strategies for early childhood education in achieving adequate educational goals. The present study aimed to empirically find out the effect of the use of tutorial video and children worksheet on preschool children’s motivation and parents’ involvement in accompanying children during study from home period. This research is experimental with a one-group pre-test-post-test experimental design. The population of this study were parents of grade A kindergarten children consisting of 8 kindergarten schools through purposive. Each class consists of 12-20 parents. The research sample consisting of two classes was divided into class A as an experimental group and class B as control group. Data collection using parental involvement and motivation questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used used T-test and analysis of variance (ANAVA) paths. The results showed that there was a significant difference both in parents' motivation and involvement when using children's worksheets and tutorial videos obtained from the results of analysis with ANAVA by the sig. value of 0.01 0.05, which means the using children's worksheets and tutorial videos was enhancing parents' motivation and involvement in assisting children's learning process.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe prospective counselors’ perceptions of professional identity concepts in the guidance and counseling field. This study used a qualitative approach with an exploratory, descriptive design. Research data were collected through open questionnaires and focus group discussions. The data sources were fifteen guidance and counseling students from three different classes. Data analysis was carried out by searching for themes and determining the correlation between them to attain interpretation. The results of the study show that professional identity is conceptualized as a typical characteristic or a symbol of professional conduct in the profession of guidance and counseling. Meanwhile, the dimensions of professional identity according to students are categorized into professional competence, personality, personal appearance, knowledge of the profession, and professional ethos. Lastly, for the student, professional identity is something that moves dynamically. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi calon konselor terhadap konsep identitas profesional dalam bidang bimbingan dan konseling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif eksploratif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terbuka dan diskusi kelompok terfokus. Sumber datanya adalah lima belas mahasiswa bimbingan dan konseling dari angkatan yang berbeda. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mengidentifikasi topik dan menentukan keterkaitan untuk mencapai interpretasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa identitas profesional dikonseptualisasikan sebagai ciri khas atau simbol perilaku profesional dalam profesi bimbingan dan konseling. Sedangkan dimensi identitas profesional menurut mahasiswa dikategorikan terdiri dari kompetensi profesional, kepribadian, penampilan pribadi, pengetahuan profesi, dan etos kerja profesional. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga mempersepsikan identitas profesional bimbingan dan konseling merupakan sesuatu yang bergerak dinamis.

Abstract

The research aims to develop short movies as a medium for learning micro counseling. The short movies developed illustrate the basic skills of counseling through scenes from the counselor and the counselee. The short film consists of three parts: a short movie entitled Pulih, a short movie review, and a short movie entitled 'Do's and Don'ts'. The research uses a quantitative research approach with research and development methods. The research was carried out in four stages: the preliminary stage, the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the result formulation stage. The data were obtained through the assessments given by experts and prospective users which were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the product developed was feasible to be used as a micro counseling learning medium.

Abstract

Efforts to improve people's life skills are part of empowerment; however, many empowerment programs have not been fully utilized because they have failed to adapt to community needs. This phenomenon serves as the foundation for this study, which aims to analyze of community competencies centered on the ability to recognize potential and utilize the environment (ecoliteracy). A qualitative approach was used in this study, with an exploratory descriptive design. Interviews, observation, study documentation and focus group discussions were used to collect research data. 12 family representatives and 14 family facilitators provided data. Data analysis was carried out by each researcher by reading transcripts in an open coding process, looking for concepts, categories, characteristics, and dimensions that characterize each aspect found. The finding reveals that potential of the surrounding nature have awareness and knowledge of how to use ecological resources to sustain life, and are uneasy due to economic problems. Second, on an emotional level, they are satisfied when they see results from using the environment, realize the value of ecoliteracy for survival, and use the land for daily personal consumption. Third, in terms of land use and assistance programs as a source of income support the cost of living, taking into account economic aspects in meeting life's necessities. To sum up, he research results which are differentiated into three aspects, it shows that there is still a lot of potential that can be used as a basis for efforts to develop ecoliteracy learning models for the community

Abstract

After approximately 2 years of being closed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, currently, schools around the world are starting to open even with limited meetings. Online learning as the best alternative learning mode during the pandemic has caused a learning loss effect on students so that students must be able to adapt and have resilience when returning to the school environment to recover learning loss. The purpose of this article is to review the latest literature on recovery learning loss, including the strategies that schools, teachers, and parents should develop in developing student resilience in adapting to school new normal. The results of the literature review of the latest sources regarding recovery learning loss, there are several strategies that can be developed, involve the school community in school opening plans, ensure school health and safety protocols, ensure the psychological well-being of students, identify students who most need help, and improve pedagogical practice and teacher training.
