Abstract

Personal hygiene of food handlers in nutrition installations affects the transmission of infection through food that will be given to inpatients and outpatients. In the survey results, it was found that food handlers still did not apply hygiene in food processing, such as 79% still chatting when processing food, 47% scratching habits, 58% using jewelry, and 42% long nails. Therefore, the researcher wanted to know the relationship between personal hygiene of food handlers and the number of food germs at the Nutrition Installation of Lubuk Attitude Hospital in 2020. The type of research carried out was descriptive analytic with a cross sectional approach. In this study, total sampling was used, where the sample in this study was the same as the population, namely 19 food handlers (supervisors, waiters, and cooks) and 19 food samples at the Nutrition Installation of Lubuk Attitude Hospital carried out within a working day at the time of the study. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate with Chi-Square test. From the results of the univariate analysis, it was found that personal hygiene was poor (57.9%), the number of germs in food met the requirements (73.7%), and the results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between personal hygiene of food handlers and the number of germs in food with p = 0.045. The Head of the Nutrition Installation of Lubuk Attitude Hospital and PPI (Prevention, Control and Infection) officers must work together in increasing guidance to food handlers regarding personal hygiene in food processing.Keywords: Personal Hygiene; Number of bacteria.

Abstract

Masalah kebisingan akibat kebisingan lalu lintas yang padat di daerah perkotaan bukan masalah baru, sehingga sulit untuk mendapatkan lokasi sekolah yang tenang agar kegiatan belajar mengajar dapat berlangsung dengan baik. MAN 2 Padang merupakan salah satu dari banyak sekolah yang terletak di pinggir jalan. Kebisingan di sekitar lingkungan sekolah dapat mengganggu konsentrasi belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan intensitas kebisingan dengan keluhan subjektif pada siswa MAN 2 Kota Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan desain cross sectional dengan populasi adalah semua siswa MAN 2 Padang sebanyak 1330 siswa dan sampel sebanyak 83 siswa. Data yang diperoleh dengan melakukan pengukuran kebisingan menggunakan alat Sound Level Meter dan data keluhan subjektif siswa yang diperoleh melaui kuesioner, pengukuran langsung, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan intensitas kebisingan di MAN 2 Padang didapatkan 4 titik yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan dan 1 titik yang memenuhi persyaratan perbedaan hasil tersebut dapat diakibatkan oleh jarak setiap titik pengukuran dengan sumber bising padatnya aktivitas lalu lintas dan suara-suara yang dihasilkan oleh kendaraan yang melintas seperti suara knalpot. Dari hasil penelitian keluhan subjektif yang dirasakan siswa didapatkan hasil sebanyak 51 orang (61.4%) yang mengalami keluhan subjektif dan 32 orang (38.6%) yang tidak mengalami keluhan subjektif. Maka hal yang dapat dilakukan oleh pihak sekolah dengan cara penanaman pohon yang memiliki tajuk tebal dengan daun yang rindang, peletakkan jendela dan ventilasi tidak terlalui banyak terutama bukaan yang langsung mengarah ke jalan dan menggunakan gorden dengan banyak lipatan, bergelombang dan berpori.

Abstract

The dense volume of traffic on the Pitameh Tanjung Saba highway has the potential to increase air pollution. The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk of respiratory tract disorders for traders due to exposure to total suspended particulate dust in ambient air on Highway Pitameh Tanjung Saba, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City in 2023. This type of research uses a descriptive analytic design with an environmental health risk analysis approach. Which was carried out from January to May 2023. The sample for this study was dust measuring ≤100 µm taken at 3 measurement points and a sample of 43 traders. The research data were obtained by measuring dust levels and interviews using a questionnaire. The results of the study stated that the TSP dust content at point 1 which was located at the Indarung by-pass traffic light intersection was 242.42 µg/m3, at point 2 which was located in front of the Muhammadiyah Great Mosque of 211.44 µg/m3 and at point 3 which was located at Intersection Pitameh of 232.39 µg/m3 . Based on the calculation of the TSP exposure risk analysis performed, it can be seen that as many as 8 respondents to real time exposure and 1 respondent to life time exposure with an exposure duration of 30 years had a risk characterization value of > 1 and as many as 74.4% experienced symptoms of respiratory tract disorders while trading in Highway Pitameh Tanjung Saba, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City.

Abstract

Researchers conducted research on car repair business activities to see the negative impacts on the liquid waste produced which is mixed liquid waste. One of the control efforts is to use aeration and sedimentation methods. This research aims to determine the reduction in oil/fat content, BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demad) and TSS (Total Suspended Solid) in car repair shop wastewater using aeration and sedimentation in 2023. The research carried out is experimental, the object to be studied is wastewater car repair shop at PT Capella Padang using a simple tool designer using three buckets with each bucket 25 liters. The results of the study showed that there were differences in oil/fat and TSS, before treatment the results of fatty oil were 12 mg/l, BOD 32 mg/l and TSS 107 mg/l after using a simple tool and given nine repetitions, the oil/fat results were 0.4. mg/l, 73.2 mg/l and TSS 12.1 mg/l. In conclusion, the efficiency value after treatment experienced a significant decrease in oil/fat, 96%, BOD efficiency value - 1.23%, while TSS experienced a significant decrease, namely 88%. It is hoped that for further research using aeration and sedimentation, better results will be obtained in accordance with the regulations of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia Number 68 of 2016 concerning Waste Water Quality Standards and also as knowledge, information and guidance for health polytechnic students.
