Abstract

Background & Purpose: Stations are one of the public places that have sanitation facilities and enable environmental pollution and diseases including diarrhea, dysentery, typhus, malaria and filiarisis. The aim of finding out the sanitation conditions at Station Karang Asem in Banyuwagi. Material and Methods: this study is an observational study conducted through a sheet of instrument that has been made based on applicable laws and interview sheets. The assessment instrument consists of 3 main variables that are used as the foundation in the assessment including the main building variables, sanitation facilities and supporting facilities at the station. of the 3 variables there are sub-variables and also sub-variables used as ratings. Assessment is done by looking at the total final score of the sum of 3 variable scores. Results: The total score of the main building variable 140 means fulfilling 100% sub-variable requirements, 77 sanitation facilities means fulfilling 50% of the assessment requirements of sub-variables and supporting facilities 97.5 means meeting the 21.5% assessment requirements of sub-variables. The total score of Karang Asem station sanitation is so that station x sanitation is 314.5. Which means in the Good category. Conclusion: Karang Asem Station in Banyuwangi has a Good category in station sanitation assessments, although there still needs to be an increase especially in its sanitation facilities.Keywords: station, sanitation, public place.

Abstract

Pool sanitation needs to be monitored and monitored against the physical environment that affects human health in order to prevent the occurrence of transmission and source of disease in the pool. The swimming pool business standard is set in the Minister of Tourism of Republic of Indonesia Regulation No. 16 of 2015. Based on SWOT analysis conducted by the researchers, the position of swimming pool X in Banyuwangi is in quadrant IV. The purpose of this research is to know the description of sanitation of swimming pool X in Banyuwangi. This research uses observational method which analyzed with descriptive. The time of the research on June 3, 2016 took place in the swimming pool X Banyuwangi. Observations were performed using a research instrument. The research instrument contains 5 variables ie place, building, swimming pool, supporting facilities and infrastructure facilities. Intrumen is prepared based on the Minister of Health Regulation No. 61 of 1991 that has been processed. The results showed the total value of place variables (3.45), building variables (3.6), pool variables (6.6), supporting facilities (6.0), and infrastructure (2.2) swimming pool X in Banyuwangi is in good condition with value 82,7% (21,85). Suggestions for pool manager X in Banyuwangi to separate chemical warehouse with First Aid Equipment (P3K) equipment and hygiene kits such as broom, waste shovel, sprinkler of swimming pool filtration, vacuum equipment and others.

Abstract

The increasing household activity is increasing also the amount of vegetables waste produced will cause a pile of decomposed waste, so that proper waste management is needed. The processing of waste done by the Community is still conventional that takes a long time so needed an innovation by re-utilizing garbage into compost with the method Takakura. This research aims to determine the comparison of physical parameters (temperature, pH, humidity, smell, color and texture) between the control group and the treatment group in making compost with Takakura method. This research method utilizes an experimental semi-quasi design with a control group and a treatment group conducted in the Environmental Health Laboratory of PSDKU Airlangga University in Banyuwangi during February-April 2019. The results showed that the parameters of physical quality compost vegetable waste without the addition of bioaktivator is the temperature of 29oC, pH 6.8, humidity 45%, colored blackish, smelling soil and texture like soil. While the parameters of physical quality compost vegetable garbage with the addition of Bioaktivator EM4 is 30oC temperature, pH 6.8, humidity 50%, colored blackish, smelling soil and texture like soil. Conclusion of making compost with vegetable garbage method Takakura obtained the temperature parameter of the treatment group higher than the control group, the pH of both groups, the humidity of the treatment group is higher or moist than With the control group as well as the color, smell and texture of both groups in accordance with the guidelines SNI 19-7030-2004. Abstract

Pencemaran logam timbal berdampak bagi kesehatan manusia seperti kerusakan saat pembentukan eritrosit dan sifat logam berat yang akumulatif sehingga jika masuk ke dalam tubuh akan menimbulkan efek jangka panjang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur kadar timbal pada makanan secara kuantitatif. Metodologi penelitian ini bersifat observasional deskriptif dimana peneliti menggunakan alat Rapid Test Kit Pb yang dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kesehatan Lingkungan PSDKU Universitas Airlangga di Banyuwangi pada tanggal 18 Februari 2020. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh sampel berupa makanan jenis hasil laut dan makanan kaleng. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak pada 15 pedagang yang berada di pasar tradisional, tiap 1 pedagang diambil 1 sampel dengan menggunakan total sampling yaitu sebanyak 15 sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 1 sampel yang mengandung timbal yaitu pada terasi udang yang memperoleh hasil test strip Pb dengan kadar 20 mg/l Pb2+ sedangkan 14 sampel lainnya masih berada dalam batas aman yaitu hasil test strip Pb dengan kadar 0 mg/1 Pb2+. Hasil Pb pada terasi udang melebihi batas maksimum yaitu sebesar 1,0 mg/kg sesuai dengan peraturan Kepala Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan Republik Indonesia Nomor HK.00.06.1.52.4011 tahun 2009. Saran bagi pemerintah, bidang industri pangan dan konsumen diharapkan dapat bekerjasama untuk mencegah dampak negatif terhadap tubuh akibat logam timbal pada makanan.

Abstract

Air adalah kebutuhan vital dalam kehidupan sehari-hari karena semua makhluk hidup membutuhkan air. Seiring berjalannya waktu, pemenuhan kebutuhan akan air minum bagi masyarakat sangat bervariasi. Kondisi ini membuat masyarakat memiliki alternatif lain untuk mengkonsumsi air minum yaitu air minum yang diproduksi oleh Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang (DAMIU). air minum isi ulang memiliki harga yang lebih murah namun tidak semua depot air minum isi ulang kualitasnya terjamin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan higiene sanitasi DAMIU di Kecamatan Banyuwangi, Kabupaten Banyuwangi, Propinsi Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode observasi dan wawancara kepada pengelola atau karyawan depot air minum isi ulang yang menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi higiene dan sanitasi depot air minum yang diadopsi dari Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor 43 Tahun 2014 tentang Higiene Sanitasi Depot Air Minum. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat 2 (6,67%) DAMIU yang tidak memenuhi syarat kelaikan fisik dan 28 (93,33%) DAMIU memenuhi syarat kelaikan fisik. Kesimpulan penelitan ini adalah kondisi higiene dan sanitasi di 30 DAMIU di Kecamatan Banyuwangi secara umum sudah baik, namun perlu dilakukan upaya pembinaan dan pengawasan secara intensif oleh Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Banyuwangi terhadap Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang di Kecamatan Banyuwangi.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang selalu berkembang seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk di Indonesia ialah sampah. Semakin banyak barang yang dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat maka akan semakin meningkatkan volume sampah. Belum adanya kebijakan khusus yang tegas terhadap sampah, sistem dari Tempat Pembuangan Akhir yang kurang memadai, kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam meminimalkan jumlah sampah ialah permasalahan yang terjadi di Indonesia. Desa Jelun merupakan salah satu wilayah di Kabupaten Banyuwangi dengan masalah sampah yang tergolong masih tinggi dan belum mendapatkan pemecahan masalah yang sesuai. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan sebuah upaya kegiatan dengan tujuan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada masyarakat dalam hal pengelolaan sampah. Dimana dalam hal ini dibentuklah program pemberdayaan masyarakat berupa Bank Sampah melalui adanya serangkaian sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Setelah Bank Sampah dijalankan, hasil yang dapat diperoleh dari pengabdian masyarakat ini ialah kemandirian masyarakat dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan sampah dengan peningkatan kemampuan dan keterampilan dalam melakukan pengelolaan sampah di wilayahnya serta dapat memberikan keuntungan secara finansial untuk keluarganya.

Abstract

Introduction:  Improving health care-seeking behavior of the coastal communities is a pathway to improve their health. This analysis aims to explore the health care-seeking behavior of the coastal communities in Banyuwangi District to recommend the room for improvement for health promotion and health service improvement for these communities.Method: Data from a cross-sectional survey of metabolic syndrome and mental health conducted in coastal communities in Banyuwangi was used for analysis.  Randomly selected participants from a list of members of Family Welfare Development Group (Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga /PKK) were asked for an interview at corresponding village office in Ketapang, Bangsring, Bulu Agung, Grajagan and Kampung Mandar village.  Distribution of health care-seeking behaviors was analyzed individually and where possible were segregated by gender and age.Results: More than half of the coastal communities in Banyuwangi District went to health care service to seek health and 7 out of 10 turned to health care service to seek health for their family members.  Women more than men turned to health care service when they or their family members fell ill.  Private doctors rather than Puskesmas were more popular.  Private midwives were the most popular service for antenatal care (ANC) and delivery.  Although there was not a clear increase in health care service utilization over time, we found that contraceptive utilization increased with time.Conclusion: The utilization of health care service in Banyuwangi needs to be more promoted especially for men’s health.

Abstract

Introduction: Blood glucose is an important component in the body produced by the consumption of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. A blood glucose imbalance causes an increase in the blood glucose level in the body. The occurrence of economic changes due to tourism may lead to a change in diet that can lead to increased blood glucose levels. This study aims to analyse the factors related to random blood glucose in people living in coastal tourism areas in BanyuwangiMethods: The study used a cross-sectional survey. A total of 112 respondents were recruited using the random sampling method, using two-stage cluster sampling techniques taken from the Head of household data in multiple villages. The factors studied included demographic, socioeconomic, lifestyle, and family health history.Results: The results showed that men had 28% higher random blood glucose compared to woman. People living in Bangsring had 31% higher random blood glucose compared to those in Buluagung.Conclusion: Local health care services should put extra effort into include men and those living in Bangsring in programs to prevent Diabetes Mellitus in coastal areas.

Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang : Kabupaten Banyuwangi merupakan kabupaten dengan jumlah kasus pernikahan dini tertinggi di Jawa Timur tahun 2019 sebanyak 352. Pernikahan dini memberikan dampak yang serius terhadap kesehatan reproduksi dan mental perempuan. Remaja perempuan yang menikah usia muda berpotensi mengalamai kehamilan berisiko tinggi dan bahkan kematian. Pernikahan dini juga membatasi perkembangan kedewasaan fisik, emosional, dan pribadi yang diperlukan untuk keberhasilan dan keamanan transisi menuju dewasa. Secara umum, pernikahan dini memiliki dampak yang besar bagi kesehatan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, remaja penting dibekali pengetahuan dan kemampuan untuk menangkal pengaruh negatif, informasi kesehatan yang tidak benar (hoax) dan mencegah terjadinya perilaku yang berisiko terhadap kesehatan.Tujuan : Pengabdian kepada masyarakat Siap Jadi Pemimpin bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang leadership dan decision making dalam kesehatan remaja pada generasi Z di Banyuwangi.Metode : Metode kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Siap Jadi Pemimpin adalah edukasi secara daring. Edukasi secara daring menggunakan aplikasi zoom meeting. Media edukasi yang digunakan adalah video dan poster. Edukasi dilaksanakan sebanyak 3 sesi. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah siswa kelas VII sampai XI di Kecamatan Licin dan Kecamatan Banyuwangi Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2020. Evaluasi pengabdian kepada masyarakat meliputi kehadiran peserta, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan pengetahuan peserta. Hasil : Jumlah peserta yang hadir adalah 120 orang (27,21%). Evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Peningkatan pengetahuan peserta kegiatan sebesar 3,63%. Jumlah peserta yang pengetahuannya meningkat sebesar 36,36% dengan peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 15,63%.Kesimpulan : Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta kegiatan tentang leadership dan decision making dalam kesehatan remaja pada generasi Z di Kabupaten Banyuwangi.  Kata Kunci : Edukasi, Generasi Z, leadership, decision makingABSTRACTBackground : Banyuwangi was the district with the highest early marriage number of cases in East Java in 2019, with amount were 352 cases. Early marriage has a serious impact on women's reproductive and mental health. The adolescent girls who married at a young age have the potential to experience high-risk pregnancies and even death. Early marriage also limited the development of physical, emotional, and personal maturity necessary for a successful and secure transition to adulthood. In generally, early marriage has a big impact on public health. Therefore, it was important for adolescents to be equipped with the knowledge and abilities toward off negative influences, false health information (hoaxes) and prevented behaviors that posed a risk to health.Objective : The purpose of Ready to be a Leader Community Services was to increasing the knowledge about leadership and decision making adolescent health in Banyuwangi District.Methods : Leadership and decision  making in adolescent health education for generation Z used the zoom meeting application. The media education  were video and poster. The method of Ready to be a Leader Community Services was online education. The education was carried out in 3 sessions. The target of this activity were students in grades VII to XI in Licin Sub-district and Banyuwangi Sub-district, Banyuwangi District. This activity was held in October 2020. Evaluation of community service included participant attendance, activity implementation, and participant knowledge.Results : The number of participants who attended were 120 people (27.21%). The result evaluation of the implementation of the activities was very good category. The increased knowledge of participants was 3.63%. Tthe number of participants whose knowledge increased was 36.36% with an increased knowledge was 15.63%.Conclusions : This community services activity increased the knowledge of participants about leadership and decision making of  generation Z adolescents health in Banyuwangi District. Keywords : Education,  Z Generation, leadership, decision making

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Keamanan pangan adalah kondisi dan upaya yang diperlukan untuk mencegah pangan dari kemungkinan cemaran yang dapat mengganggu, merugikan dan membahayakan kesehatan manusia sehingga makanan aman untuk dikonsumsi. Pengolahan suatu makanan tidak terlepas dari adanya bahan tambahan pangan yang merupakan bahan yang ditambahkan ke dalam pangan. Salah satu bahan tambahan pangan yang dilarang penggunaanya adalah boraks karena sangat berbahaya jika dikonsumsi dalam tubuh manusia.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara kualitatif kandungan boraks pada makanan yang dijual oleh pedagang yang ada di wilayah Kota Banyuwangi.Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Februari tahun 2020 di Laboratorium Kesehatan Lingkungan PSDKU Universitas Airlangga Surabaya. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian berjumlah 15 makanan yang terdiri dari kerupuk, pentol, bakso, tahu walik dan cimol. Sampel didapatkan dari 15 pedagang makanan yang berbeda di daerah Kota Banyuwangi diantaranya wilayah Giri, Pakis, Glagah, Tukang Kayu, Sobo dan Kepatihan. Pengujian kandungan boraks ini dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Kesehatan Lingkungan yang salah satunya peneliti sendiri dengan menggunakan Test Kit Boraks.Hasil: Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa dari 15 sampel makanan yang dijual di wilayah Kota Banyuwangi sebanyak 10 sampel (66,7%) yaitu pada 5 sampel pentol, 3 sampel bakso serta satu sampel kerupuk dan tahu walik. Sementara sisanya yaitu 5 sampel (33,3%) yang negatif boraks diantaranya satu sampel kerupuk, 3 sampel bakso dan cimol.Kesimpulan: Masyarakat harus lebih berhati-hati dalam mengonsumsi atau membeli makanan dengan memperhatikan ciri-ciri yang ada pada makanan dan sebaiknya pengawasan serta pembinaan terhadap pedagang makanan yang ada di wilayah Kota Banyuwangi lebih ditingkatkan.Kata kunci: analisis kualitatif, keamanan pangan, pedagang, boraks
