Abstract

This training was conducted at the Sang Timur Boys' Dormitory in the city of Yogyakarta. This activity aims to increase the knowledge, insight, and skills of residents and hostel administrators in vertical care, and also assist government programs in adapting new habits by reducing outdoor activities and increasing food security in urban areas. The methods used at the time of implementation included socialization, mentoring in planting vegetable seeds (water spinach and mustard greens), training in the manufacture of liquid fertilizer, and provision of lettuce, spinach, and water spinach seeds for the next planting period. The result of the activity is that the vertical installations owned by the hostel can be managed and utilized properly. In addition, the residents and administrators of the hostel gain knowledge, insight, and skills in plant care in verticulture techniques and the manufacture of liquid fertilizer that can be used on their plants.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of combination benzyl amino purine(BAP) and naphtalene acetid acid (NAA) on tissue culture of Chrysanthemum. Theexperiment was conducted at The Tissue Culture Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty,Stiper Agriculture Institute. The Completely Randomized Design was applied in thisexperiment, consisting of two factors; those were BAP and NAA application. Each factorconsisted of four treatments. Each combination of treatment was carried out with ninereplications. The conclusion from this study were: Application of higher BAP and NAAconcentration increased budding of explant, whereas application of higher NAA thanBAP concentration increased the growth of bud and leaf number, also increased rootingof explant.

Abstract

Dendrobium is a genus of orchids whose flowers vary in shape and color, making them much in demand as ornamental plants. In vitro propagation requires the proper composition of culture media to speed up the growth of seedlings, but media composition is still relatively quite pricey for orchid producers. It is necessary to alter popular culture, especially the utilization of abundant natural resources, such as seaweed (Gracilaria sp.). This study aims to determine the effect of adding seaweed extract (Gracilaria sp.) to the culture media on the growth of Dendrobium sp. seedlings. The study was carried out in Central Laboratory INSTIPER Yogyakarta. The study used a factorial experimental method which was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD). The first factor was the type of seaweed with 2 levels, namely seaweed variant 1 and variant 2. The second factor was the concentration of seaweed extract with 4 levels (0 gram/liter, 0.5 gram/liter, 1 gram/liter, and 1 .5 gram/liter). Parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, leaf color, number of roots, root length, and fresh weight. The results of the observations were analyzed using DMRT test at the 5% level. The results showed that the addition of 1 and 1.5 grams/liter of seaweed extract could significantly increase the parameters of plant height and the number of leaves of Dendrobium sp.INTISARIDendrobium merupakan salah satu marga anggrek yang bervariasi bentuk dan warna bunganya sehingga banyak diminati sebagai tanaman hias. Perbanyakan anggrek secara in vitro membutuhkan komposisi media kultur yang tepat sehingga mampu mempercepat pertumbuhan bibit, namun komposisi media tersebut masih terhitung mahal bagi produsen anggrek. Modifikasi media kultur perlu dilakukan khususnya yang memanfaatkan bahan alami dengan kemelimpahan tinggi, salah satunya adalah rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ekstrak rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.) pada media kultur terhadap pertumbuhan bibit anggrek Dendrobium sp. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Sentral INSTIPER Yogyakarta. Penelitian menggunakan metode percobaan faktorial yang disusun dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Faktor pertama adalah jenis rumput laut dengan 2 aras yaitu rumput laut varian 1 dan rumput laut varian 2. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi ekstrak rumput laut dengan 4 aras yaitu 0 gram/liter, 0,5 gram/liter, 1 gram/liter, dan 1,5 gram/liter. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, warna daun, jumlah akar, panjang akar, dan berat segar. Hasil pengamatan dianalisis sidik ragam dan uji lanjut DMRT jenjang 5 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak rumput laut 1 dan 1,5 gram/liter mampu meningkatkan secara signifikan parameter tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun bibit anggrek Dendrobium sp.

Abstract

Mucuna bracteata is a cover crop that is commonly used in oil palm plantations. It has many advantages, such as rapidly growing, preventing erosion on open land and suppressing weed growth. The research aims to determine the effect of various compositions planting medium with addition of organic and inorganic fertilizers and watering volume on the growth of Mucuna bracteata. The research was conducted in Kebun Pendidikan dan Penelitian (KP2) Institut Pertanian STIPER Yogyakarta, from April to July 2016. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors was applied as experimental design. The first factor was growing media consisting of four levels, namely P0 (regosol, without fertilizer), P1 (regosol + NPK), P2 (regosol + manure), P3 (regosol + compost). The second factor was watering volume consisting of three levels, namely V1 (200 ml/day), V2 (400 ml/day), and V3 (600 ml/day). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT), both with significance level of 5%, were then used to find out whether significant differences among treatments, were existed. Regression was used if ANOVA showed no significant differences among treatment. The result showed that there was no interaction between treatment, growing media and watering volume on Mucuna bracteata’s growth. Regosol and manure was the best media to support plant growth Mucuna bracteata, while the watering volume was not. Keywords : Growth, Mucuna bracteata, growing medium, watering volume

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian nutrisi secara infus pada batang karet terhadap produksi latex. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Perkebunan karet milik PTPN VIII di Garut, Tasikmalaya pada bulan April sampai Agustus 2015. Larutan nutrisi terdiri dari unsur ara makro dan mikro yaitu: N-NH2 + : 0,2 %, N-NO3 - : 2,3 %, P2O5 total: 1,0%, total K2O : 2,4%, total Ca : 0,08 %, total Mg : 0,07 %; total SO4 2- : 0,28 %.; total Fe :67,9 mg.kg-1 , total Cu : 28,9 mg.kg-1 , total Mn : 38,7 mg.kg-1 , total Zn : 16,4 mg.kg1 . Larutan nutrient diencerkan 100 x sebelum aplikasi, dengan nilai electrical conductivity 3,83 mS/cm dan pH 5,52. Larutan tersebut diaplikasikan dengan cara infus batang karet. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan adanya peningkatan berat latex dan kadar karet kering. Tanaman karet yang telah mengalami kering sadap akibat penggunaan stimulan sebelumnya, setelah dilakuakan aplikasi infus nutrisi, dapat memproduksi latex kembali.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to determine the effectiveness of LCC planting methods on replanting areal and to determine the best growth of LCC between lining, digging and broadcasting methods. This research was conducted in Ukui sub-district, Pelalawan district, Riau. This research was conducted by experimental method which was arranged in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The first factor is the method of planting which consists of lining system, digging system and broadcasting system. The second factor is land condition which consists of hilly area, flat area and low area. Each treatment combination with 3 replications. The data of the research were analyzed by analysis of variance at level of 5%. If there is a real difference, then tested by DMRT at 5% confidence level. The results showed that planting system gave the same effect to LCC growth. While the best condition of land for LCC growth is on flat area and low area than hilly area. Abstract

The study objective was to determine the response of growth and production of oil palm on frond fertilizer application. The duration experiment, from June 2017 to April 2018 at the Educational and Experimental Garden of the Stiper Agriculture Institute, Stiper Edu Agro Tourism (SEAT), Ungaran, Central Java, Indonesia. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized factorial design. The first factor was the age of plants consisting of 2 levels for 6 years old plants and 12 years old plants. The second factor was the dose of frond fertilizer application with 3 levels of application. As control (5 kg/plant/year NPK fertilizer), 2 kg/plant/year frond fertilizer, 4 kg/plant/year frond fertilizer. The experiment using 7 replications for each combination treatment. The result on vegetative growth of oil palm showing the same effect on control and frond fertilizer applications. However, significant increase of production shown in the frond fertilizer application. The total weight of fresh bunches based on harvest observations in January, February, March and April 2018, the highest at the age of 6 years old oil palm which was given 2.0 kg/plant/year frond fertilizer (63.2 kg FFB/4 months). Oil palm productivity with an application of 2.0 kg/plant/year frond fertilizer showing result of 18.96 tons of FFB/ha/year. Compared this to the productivity of control with gain of 6 tons of FFB/ha/year. The highest average weight of fresh bunch in oil palm age 12 years in 4.0 kg frond fertilizer application, with average weight of fresh bunch was 14 kg. Abstract

The aimed of this study was to determine the growth of oil palm seedlings at pre nursery in the nutrition modification and various types of media on hydroponic systems. The research was conducted at the education and research garden of the Stiper Agricultural Institute Yogyakarta, Maguwoharjo Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region in March to June 2016. The study used a split plot design. Main plot is a modification of nutrition consisting of three levels, namely nutrition A (15 g gandasil, 15 g hyponex, 0.78 g ZA, 7.5 g dolomite), nutrition B (15 g gandasil, 15 g hyponex, 1.17 g ZA, 11.25 g dolomite), and nutrition C (15 g gandasil, 15 g hyponex, 1.56 g ZA, 15 g dolomite). While the sub plot is a planting medium consisting of three types, namely rockwool, husk charcoal, and cocopeat. Observation data were analyzed by variance. To find out the significan difference between treatments is done by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significan level. The results of the analysis showed that nutrient modification had an effect on the number of leaves and leaf area, nutrients B and C were better than nutrition A, however, nutrition A, nutrition B, and nutrition C had the same effect on the growth of pre-nursery of oil palm with hydroponic systems. Various types of planting media influence the growth of pre-nursery oil palm seedlings, best on rockwool media. Keyword : oil palm, hydroponic, nutrition modification, planting media.

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor biotik, faktor abiotik dan faktor managemen yang mempengaruhi produktivitas tanaman cengkeh serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh masing-masing faktor biotik, faktor abiotik dan faktor managemen terhadap produktivitas tanaman cengkeh, telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2019 di 3 kecamatan, yaitu Kecamatan Munjungan, Kecamatan Panggul dan Kecamatan Pule. Kabupaten Trenggalek Provinsi Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan kegiatan survey berdasarkan judul yang akan di teliti. Pengamatan dilakukan untuk memperoleh data primer dan sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dari wawancara dengan petani dengan menggunakan quisioner. Data sekunder adalah data yang sudah tercatat pada dinas terkait berupa data-data produksi dan data pendukung lain seperti, data curah hujan dan iklim 5 tahun terakir, data produksi cengkeh selama 5 tahun terakir, luas areal tanam cengkeh 5 tahun terakir, peta wilayah, monografi desa dan kecamatan. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda yang di formulasikan sebagai berikut, Yi = β0 + β1X1 + β2X2 + E, Dimana: Y = Produktifitas Cengkeh, X1 = Luas Lahan (Ha), X2 = Curah hujan, E = error. Hasil penelitian Produktivitas tanaman cengkeh dipengaruhi faktor biotik berupa hama penyakit tanaman, dan faktor abiotik berupa luas lahan. Factor biotik berupa hama penyakit tanaman secara langsung menyerang tanaman hingga tanaman mati, sedangkan faktor abiotik berupa luas lahan menyebutkan semakin luas lahan maka semakin rendah produktivitas tanamam cengkeh atau sebaliknya. Kata kunci : produktivitas tanaman cengkeh, faktor biotik dan abiotik.

Abstract

Penurunan produktivitas kelapa sawit dapat terjadi karena adanya kesalahan penerapan teknik budidaya yang dipicu kurangnya pengetahuan petani dalam teknis budidaya kelapa sawit. Pengetahuan bisa menjadi hal vital dalam mempengaruhi perilaku seseorang dalam menjaga mutu lingkungannya, termasuk petani sawit dalam menghadapi penurunan produktivitas. Karakteristik internal petani berkaitan dengan tingkat pengetahuan petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan teknik budidaya pada petani plasma dengan produktivitas kelapa sawit di Desa Lubuk Kembang Sari, Kecamatan Ukui. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 86 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner. Uji korelasi yang digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan petani dengan produktivitas kelapa sawit adalah Spearman Rank Test. Hasil penelitian dengan uji Spearman Rank Test menunjukkan bahwa nilai p value 0,021 (p<0,005) yang artinya terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan teknik budidaya petani plasma dengan produktivitas kelapa sawit di Desa Lubuk Kembang Sari, Ukui. Kesimpulannya terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara tingkat pengetahuan teknik budidaya petani plasma dengan produktivitas kelapa sawit di Desa Lubuk Kembang Sari, Ukui.
