Abstract

AbstractVoluntary Counseling and Testing or abbreviated as VCT is one of the public health strategies which has a role as an entry point for all HIV/AIDS health services. The implementation of VCT is influenced by the perception of risk, wherein individuals who perceipts themselves at risk of HIV/AIDS will consider to perform VCT. The purpose of this activity is to increase trust in health (Health Belief Model) in VCT services. The method used is pre-test counseling and HIV test. VCT activities ran smoothly, which was indicated by the cooperativeness of VCT service recipients when they were asked for information required by providers. VCT service should be improved by providing counseling on the prevention of transmission as well as signs and symptoms of HIV/AIDS Keywords: Voluntary Counseling and TestingAbstrak: Konseling dan Testing Sukarela yang dikenal sebagai Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) merupakan salah satu strategi kesehatan masyarakat dan sebagai pintu masuk ke seluruh layanan kesehatan HIV/AIDS. Pemanfaatan VCT salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh persepsi terhadap risiko yakni individu yang memiliki persepsi bahwa dirinya berisiko terhadap HIV/AIDS akan mempertimbangkan untuk melakukan VCT. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan terhadap kesehatan (Health Belief Model) pada layanan VCT.  Metode yang dilakukan yaitu konseling pra test dan tes HIV. Kegiatan VCT berjalan dengan lancar yang ditandai dengan kooperatifnya penerima layanan VCT saat diminta informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh petugas. Meningkatkan layanan VCT dengan memberikan konseling mengenai mencegah penularan serta tanda dan gejala HIV/AIDS. Kata Kunci: Voluntary Counseling and Testing
