Abstract

Pendugaan korelasi antar sifat menentukan keberhasilan seleksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) mengetahui korelasi antara karakter komponen hasil dan hasil dan 2) mengetahui korelasi antar karakter komponen hasil. Percobaan dilakukan di Kabupaten Banyumas pada bulan April sampai dengan Agustus 2012. Bahan yang digunakan adalah padi populasi F5 keturunan persilangan G39 dan Ciherang. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Augmented Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1. Karakter komponen hasil yang berkorelasi positif dan nyata dengan hasil adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan total per rumpun, jumlah anakan produktif per rumpun, umur berbunga, umur panen, jumlah gabah total per malai dan bobot 1000 biji. Karakter persentase gabah isi per malai dan panjang malai tidak nyata berkorelasi dengan karakter hasil. 2. Terdapat korelasi di antara karakter komponen hasil.

Abstract

Current research was conducted with the objectives to identify the utmost traits that may be beneficial for the higher productivity of the grains on high protein content genotypes lines by path coefficient. Path coefficient can define coefficient correlation directly and indirectly to gain information about nature relationship between yield component and protein content to grain yield. Research material consisted of 61 selected plants from G39×Ciherang and 66 selected plants from Mentik Wangi×G39 at F4 generation. Plants were planted in Banyumas in May 2011. Number of panicles per plant, panicle length, 1000 g of grain weight, percentage of filled grain per panicle, protein content, and grain yield were correlated by using Pearson correlation and were followed by path coefficient. Number of panicles per plant, panicle length, 1000 g of grain weight, percentage filled grain per panicle, and protein content were used as dependent variable, while grain yield was used as independent variable. The result showed that protein content in both populations was not correlated with all yield components. The numbers of panicles, followed by panicle length, had highest positive direct effect to yield. The number of panicle was a positive mediator variable to yield from another variable.Keywords: correlation, direct effect, indirect effect, mediator variable, path analysis

Abstract

Upland rice plays an important role in supporting food security for community in dryland areas. Genotype × environment interaction is an important factor to be considered in the development of upland rice in Indonesia, because they affect rice yield stability. Genotype × environment interaction and yield stability of rice genotypes are important information to be considered for the development of upland rice. The study was conducted over two years on a dry land area of Banjarnegara, Central Java, using 10 genotypes of upland rice (UNRAM 1E, 4E UNRAM, UNRAM 17E, 9E UNRAM, Unsoed G10, G19 Unsoed, Unsoed G39, G136 Unsoed, B12644F-MR-2, B12498C-MR-1) and two varieties (Situ Patenggang and Way Rarem) as control. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance. Results showed that planting time affect yield and yield components of the upland rice tested. Effect of the genotype x planting time interaction was shown on plant height, flowering date, harvest age, and crop yields. The upland rice genotypes that showed a stable high yields over years of planting were UNRAM 4, Unsoed G10, G136 Unsoed, B12644F-MR-2, and Situ Patenggang and Way Rarem.

Abstract

Diversity of the physical environment which is followed by the diversity of genetic resources in agriculture in Indonesia is very wide. The potential of specific environments can be used by breeders in determining the applicability distribution of a superior new cultivars, such as releasing the rice cultivars tolerant salinity with high yield potential for a wide range of spatial and specific. We growed 10 genotypes of rice and Siak Raya as check in three locations with low to moderate levels of salinity, Kebumen (140 µc/cm-350 µc/cm), Batang (861 µc/cm-5783 µc/cm), dan Pekalongan (670 µc/cm-1416 µc/cm). Genotypes showed difference performance, which indicated diversity of agronomic characters at three location. Genotypes stability were tested refer to Eberhart and Russell (1963), UNSOED 8 is a stable genotype with higher gran yield than the total average of genotypes.

Abstract

Tegaljaya and Mekarjaya are farmer groups in Tinggarjaya Village, Jatilawang District, Banyumas Regency. The narrow land area causes the welfare of farmer groups members to be still low. In order to improve well-being, it is necessary to increase rice productivity using high yield and high quality varieties, namely Inpago Unsoed 1. The purpose of this activity is to increase rice production in Tinggarjaya Village through the application of Inpago Unsoed 1 cultivation technology. This activity was carried out through the Inpago Unsoed 1 Rice Crop Management Field School approach which was translated into three activities, namely 1) Technology Transfer; 2) Plotting Demonstration; and 3) Evaluation of activities. The results of this activity were farmers of the Tegaljaya and Mekarjaya Farmers who received the Inpago Unsoed 1 superior variety and were willing to replan and the farmer gets a new superior variety alternative, Inpago Unsoed 1 which has good competitiveness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk informasi tentang nilai Daya Gabung Umum (DGU), nilai Daya GabungKhusus (DGK) dan nilai heterosis karakter hotikultura Capsicum annuum.. Percobaan ini menggunakan 21genotip yang terdiri atas 6 tetua dan 15 hibridanya. Rancangan acak kelompok lengkap dengan tiga ulangandigunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan pendugaan daya gabungkhusus, nilai heterosis dan nilai tengah karakter maka 12 hibrida berpotensi untuk dijadikan varietas hibridaberdaya hasil tinggi. Kedua belas hibrida tersebut adalah IPB C2 x IPB C14, IPB C2 x IPB C4, IPB C2 x IPBC9, IPB C2 x IPB C10, IPB C14 x IPB C9, IPB C14 x IPB C10, IPB C14 x IPB C1, IPB C4 x IPB C9, IPB C4x IPB C10, IPB C4 x IPB C1, IPB C9 x IPB C10 dan IPB C10 x IPB C1.Kata kunci: Capsicum annuum, DGU, DGK, heterosisABSTRACTThe objectives of this research were to estimate general combining ability (GCA), specific combiningability (SCA) and heterosis of horticulture character. Abstract

In Indonesia, low soil P availability is the major constraint in upland area.  Therefore, it is needed to find soybean varieties with characters efficient in P and high yield.  The objective of this study was to evaluate P uptake, P efficiency, yield, morphological and physiological characters for selection of P efficient varieties.  A Randomized Completely Block design was used with three replications.  Seven varieties i.e. local, Slamet, Leuser, L1 503, S1 131(2), SL3 113(6), S1 053 and P applications i.e. without P and 36 kg P2O5 ha-1 were tested.  Some variables such as plant height, shoot weight, leaf number, branch number, filled and unfilled of pod number, grain weight, P content, P uptake and efficiency were analyzed.  Data was analysis by F test and followed by DMRT.  The results showed that there were different responses on P uptake among genotypes under low P condition. Slamet, S1 053, SL3 113 (6) and Leuser had characters of high potential of yield and efficient in P uptake under P stress.  Some characters could be used for variety selection of P efficient with high yield i.e. shoot and grain weight, and P efficiency.

Abstract

AbstrakInpago Unsoed Protani dan Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh adalah padi (Oryza sativa L.) daya hasil tinggi yang memiliki kandungan protein beras tinggi yang pertumbuhannya dipengaruhi oleh pemupukan nitrogen.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui respons komponen hasil dan hasil padi protein tinggi terhadap pupuk nitrogen dan memperoleh dosis optimal pupuk nitrogen untuk varietas Inpago Unsoed Protani dan Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh. Percobaan dirancang dengan RAK pola faktorial dwi faktor yang diulang tiga kali. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk N yaitu: 0 kg N ha-1, 46 kg N ha-1, 92 kg N ha-1, dan 138 kg N ha-1. Faktor kedua adalah genotipe padi yaitu Inpago Unsoed Protani, Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh, dan Inpago Unsoed 1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai komponen hasil meningkat seiring dengan penambahan dosis pupuk nitrogen. Respons daya hasil terhadap dosis pupuk nitrogen varietas Inpago Unsoed Protani dan Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh lebih baik dari Inpago Unsoed 1.  Dosis pupuk nitrogen yang optimum untuk Inpago Unsoed Protani adalah 94 kg N ha-1 dan untuk Inpago Unsoed P20Tangguh adalah 86 kg N ha-1.Kata Kunci: Daya hasil, Nitrogen, Padi, ProteinAbstractInpago Unsoed Protani and Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh are high-yielding rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties with high protein content, whose growth is affected by the nitogen fertilizer. The objectives of this study were i.e., (i) to determine the response of yield components and yield of high protein rice varieties to nitrogen fertilizers and (ii). to obtain optimal doses of nitrogen fertilizers for the Inpago Unsoed Protani and Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh varieties. The experiment was arranged in the randomized completely block design, with two factors and replicated three times. The first factor was the dose of N fertilizer, i.e., 0 kg N ha-1, 46 kg N ha-1, 92 kg N ha-1, and 138 kg N ha-1. The second factor was rice variety , i.e., Inpago Unsoed Protani, Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh, and Inpago Unsoed 1. The results showed that the yield component values increased with the addition of nitrogen fertilizer doses. Yield response to nitrogen fertilizer of Inpago Unsoed Protani and Inpari Unsoed P20Tangguh was better than Inpago Unsoed 1. The optimum dose of nitrogen fertilizer was 94 kg N  ha-1 for Inpago Unsoed Protani and 86 kg N ha-1 for Inpago Unsoed P20Tangguh.Keywords: Nitrogen, Protein, Rice, Yield

Abstract

One of the goals of Indonesia's rice improvement program is to develop high-yielding varieties with long and slender rice grains. This study aimed to estimate the genetic parameters affecting gene action, amount of gene action, number of gene control, magnitude of genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, and correlations between yield components and yield of Inpari 31 x Basmati Delta 9 in the F2 generation. The experiment was carried out at an experimental farm at the Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto, Central Java, Indonesia. The genetic material used was seed from an F2 population crossed between Inpari 31 and Basmati Delta 9 with the two parental genotypes. Estimates of skewness, kurtosis, genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlations between traits and path analysis were calculated for yield and yield component traits. Results show that additive and complementary epistatic action control yield-related and yield traits. Yield-related trait components and yield are controlled by a monogenic or polygenic genes, depending on the observed trait. Wide genetic variability, high broad sense heritability and high genetic advance were found in the number of productive tillers per hill and grain weight per panicle.  These traits show a significant positive correlation and have a direct effect on the yield; therefore, they can be used as traits in the selection to produce high-yielding rice, with long rice sizes and slender shapes.   Keywords: F2 population; genetic parameters; interrelationship among traits; rice
