Abstract

ABSTRACT               This writing discuses about the phenomenon that mostly happen during English session at VIII A class in SMP Angkasa Kuta. The problems occurred when the students tried to write the sentence. They found the difficulties in using regular and irregular verb form, using of copula be, using of adverb of time and using of negative form in past tense. This study was classroom action research that collected descriptive data. The data collected by taking the sample of student sentences and analyzed the student ability in writing simple past tense. Based on the observation, there were two kinds of factors influences the student ability in writing simple past tense of VIII A SMP Angkasa Kuta’s student. First, The internal factors were made by the student itself. It impeded learning process in class during the English session. Abstract

ABSTRACT                      The increase in tourist visits to Bali has become a growing place in various sectors in Bali which have an impact on health support facilities in the form of international hospitals. In its supporting activities, English language is the main thing in this field health workers, especially nurses who are able to communicate in English are needed to achieve good communication with international patients who visit the hospital. English language proficiency possessed by nurse nurses is professional in providing care to patients where nurses must be able to explain nursing procedures, drug administration, appropriate handling that allows patients to speak accurately and correctly. The lack of ability of a student in English is a phenomenon that occurs due to various factors. This study raised the ability of 5th semester nursing students in Stikes Bina Usada Bali. In this study, Stikes Bina Usada Bali students majoring in Nursing were the object of research. This study aims to analyze the problems faced by students of Stikes Bina Usada Bali in the pronunciation and analysis of factors that influence the ability of English Language on students at Stikes Bina Usada Bali. Descriptive data was used to analyse data in this study. This study shows that nursing students at Stikes Bina Usada Bali experience problems in English as the influence of the mother tongue (main language of each student) and second language (Indonesian). Several factors also influence the ability of students to speak in the form of internal and external factors such as language components and content components and the environment during the learning process.  Keywords: speaking ability, pronunciation, nurse, diabetes mellitus

Abstract

This writing discuses about the phenomenon that mostly happen in the class during English session at VIII A SMP Angkasa Kuta?s students. The problems occurred were students found the difficulties in understanding the changing of regular and irregular verbs, sentence?s pattern of Simple Past Tense, the using of capital letters, and other mechanic errors. This could be seen from their score in Simple Past Tense where out of 31 students only 5 students got the score above  78 as Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) that stipulated by the school, it means 26 students failed.There were 4 errors found in writing materials of the students of VIII A SMP Angkasa Kuta those (1) errors in forming second form of regular/irregular verb,  (2) errors in using second form of to be , (3) errors in using  adverb of time and (4) errors in negative sentences. Based on the observation, factors that influenced students writing skill in writing simple past tense are out of 31 students only 16 students brought their dictionaries school, while the other did not during English session in their class. The results were they did not really know the changing of verbs especially first and second forms, the forms of to be, and adverb of time. Other factor is students did not have much attention during teaching learning process because they were lazy to do the exercises in their Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) and memorized the form of irregular verbs, besides the students, it could be seen that the teacher was really active to give motivation to the students to do the exercises on their LKS. Tulisan ini membahas fenomena yang sering terjadi di kelas bahasa Inggris siswa Kelas VIIIA SMP Angkasa Kuta. Permasalahan yang ditemukan pada para siswa adalah mereka sulit memahami perubahan bentuk yang terjadi pada regular dan irregular verbs, pola kalimat Simple Past Tense, penggunaan huruf kapital dan kesalahan mekanik yang lainnya. Rendahnya ketrampilan menulis siswa dalam bentuk Simple Past Tense dapat dilihat dari nilai menulis mereka yang sangat rendah di mana dari 31 orang siswa hanya 5 orang siswa yang memenuhi nilai 78 sebagai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) yang ditetapkan oleh sekolah dan ada 26 yang tidak. Ditemukan 4 jenis kesalahan   dalam penulisan kalimat past tense oleh siswa kelas VIII A SMP Angkasa Kuta yaitu (1) kesalahan penggunaan bentuk past regular/irregular verb, (2) kesalahan penggunaan to be bentuk past, (3) kesalahan penggunaan adverb of time dan (4) kesalahan penggunaan bentuk VI kalimat negatif atau kalimat menyangkal. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan  diketahui faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi terjadinya kesalahan dalam penulisan kalimat past tense oleh siswa adalah bahwa dari 31 orang siswa ditemukan 16 orang siswa tidak membawa kamus ketika terjadi proses belajar mengajar bahasa Inggris di kelas. Hal itu menyebabkan mereka kurang  memahami perubahan kata kerja khususnya kata kerja bentuk I dan II, perubahan to be¸ dan keterangan waktu lampau. Faktor lainnya adalah siswa kurang aktif dalam proses belajar karena malas mengerjakan soal-soal dalam lembar kerja siswa (LKS) dan menghafal pola perubahan regular/irregular verb. Dari penelitian, selain siswa yang kurang aktif guru pun kurang aktif dalam memberi dorongan kepada siswa untuk membawa kamus ke sekolah dan mengerjakan tugas yang ada pada LKS.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris adalah salah satu kemampuan komunikatif yang harus ditingkatkan pada era globalisasi karena bahasa Inggris sangat penting. Bagi mereka yang bekerja di sektor kesehatan, memahami Bahasa Inggris juga merupakan suatu kewajiban, terlebih lagi dengan diberlakukannya MEA (Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean) yang salah satunya meminta para perawat untuk dapat bersaing di era globalisasi ini. Menulis merupakan fokus pembahasan dalam penelitian ini karena beberapa perawat masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis deskripsi keluarga akibat kurangnya pembendaharaan kata dan mereka juga merasa kesulitan dalam menggabungkan kata menjadi suatu kalimat yang padu. Guided writing dapat digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah dalam menulis dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre eksperimen atau single group pre-test and posttest. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes untuk menentukan keberhasilan dalam proses pembelajaran. Terdapat dua jenis tes yang digunakan yaitu pretest dan post test. Berdasarkan data yang telah didapatkan, kebanyakan dari mereka mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya kesiapan dan terlalu banyaknya beban yang dirasakan oleh mereka.

Abstract

Penurunan fungsi fisiologis berbagai sistem organ yang terjadi pada lansia sering mengakibatkan kecemasan yang dapat mengganggu fungsi-fungsi lain di antaranya fungsi sosial dan kesehatannya. Kecemasan yang tidak ditangani dengan baik dapat berlanjut menjadi depresi bahkan sampai melakukan bunuh diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh musik gamelan selonding Bali terhadap kecemasan pada lansia yang ada di Banjar Selat, Buahan Kaja, Payangan, Gianyar. Desain yang digunakan pre eksperimental dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling berjumlah 41 orang lansia. Data kecemasan dikumpulkan menggunakan Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS) di analisis menggunakan uji statistik Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% (α 0,05). Hasil uji Wilcoxon Sign Rank ditemukan p = 0,001, < 0,05. Kesimpulannya adalah ada pengaruh yang signifikan musik gamelan Selonding Bali dalam menurunkan kecemasan lansia. Disarankan dalam upaya menurunkan tingkat kecemasan lansia, dapat menerapkan terapi musik gamelan Selonding.

Abstract

Background: The length days of treatment for appendectomy is due to the presence of wounds that require healing The length days of hospitalization can be overcome by providing Left Turn/ Right Tilt oblique as early as possible in post appendectomy surgery patients. Objective: This study purpose to determine the effect of Left Turn/ Right Tilt mobilization exercises on the length of hospitalization in post appendectomy patients at RSD Mangusada. Method: The research was conducted with a Post-test design Only With Control Group Design. The number of samples were 21 people from each group using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using observation sheets for length day of stay. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney. test. Results: The results of the study in the experimental group with an average length of stay of 2.61 days, while in the correlation between the effect of left turn/ right tilt mobilization exercise on the length day of stay in post appendectomy patients obtained p value <0.001. Conclusion: The effect of left turn/ right tilt mobilization exercise on length of hospitalization in post- appendectomy patients at RSD Mangusada. The recommendations of this study are expected to be input for nurses to always provide right and left oblique as early as possible in postoperative patients.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out how far the use of role-play technique could help the students of Triatma Jaya Badung Vocational High School in grade XI Hospitality Accommodation 1 to improve their speaking ability especially in using the simple past tense. Some theoretical frameworks are used in this research, such as the theory of teaching speaking by Richard and the theory of teaching grammar by Williams. Before the treatment was carried, a pretest was conducted to know the students’ basic ability, so that the achievement can be compared with the next circles after the treatment was given. The result of quantitative data showed that the use of role-play technique could improve the speaking ability of students of Triatma Jaya Badung Vocational High School. It can be seen from the result of the students’ achievement tests which increased continuously during the application of the role play technique. Those speaking aspects which were used as an indicator are vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and comprehension.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research on improving English vocabulary in kindergarten students through health education video. The purpose of this study is to find out the improvement of English vocabulary through early health education video. The results of this study indicate an increase in English vocabulary through the health education video on preschool students of Pradnyandari I Kindergarten. The research method used in this research is Action research with the subject of TK Pradnyadari I Kindergarten student. Data collection techniques are using observation, documentation interviews and a collection of English words about dental and oral health through early health education video. This research was conducted in 3 cycles. The results showed an increase in vocabulary ability in English through early health education video on Pradnyandari I Kindergarten. The increase in the first cycle was 40.65%, in the second cycle, 48% and a significant increase of 65.9% was in the third cycle. It can be concluded that the increase in vocabulary through early health education videos is effectively implemented to students of Pradnyandari I Kindergarten.Keywords: English, vocabulary, health education video

Abstract

Language plays an important role in our life. Through language, we can transmit messages, communicate ideas, thoughts, and opinions. It is realized that language as the main tool for communication. In everyday communication, we are attuned not primary to the sentences we utter to one another, but also the speech act of those utterances. Communication will be successful when there is no misinterpretation. Communication can be held based on the situations, means that different speech situations will show the use of different speech acts too. One of the speech situations which can give us an idea of the usage of speech acts is in the health care sector. This study aimed at analyzing speech act in verbal communication between healthcare professionals and patients in Public Health Centre Branch Kerobokan Kelod.This study used the descriptive qualitative method with a total sampling technique. The population and sample of this study were the entire healthcare professional in Public Health Centre. The number of samples was 25 respondents.This study is expected to improve the healthcare professional’s skill in communicating based on the situation, therefore, the goal of health service which is targeted can be reached by the patients or patients’ family.

Abstract

Therapeutic communication is carried out in every nursing care delivery. Through good communication between nurse and patient or patient's family, a trusting relationship can be developed. Thus, the treatment provided can be received optimally which can affect patient satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nurse therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction. The measuring instruments used in this study were nurse therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction questionnaires that had been tested for its validity and reliability. The design of this research was a descriptive analytic correlation using cross sectional design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 67 respondents. The research data were analyzed using the chi square correlation test. The results of this study indicated that 53.7% nurses had good therapeutic communication and 55.2% patients were satisfied. Chi square test revealed p value 0.001 with a confidence level of 95%. It is concluded that there was a relationship between nurse therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction at the Regional General Hospital of Tabanan Regency. It is hoped that nurses' therapeutic communication can be improved and applied in nursing care, and further explore factors that can improve the nurses’ therapeutic communication skills to increse patient satisfaction. BAHASA INDONESIA Komunikasi terapeutik dilaksanakan pada setiap pemberian asuhan keperawatan. Melalui komunikasi yang baik antara perawat dan pasien atau keluarga pasien dapat membangun hubungan saling percaya antara perawat dengan pasien. Sehingga perawatan yang diberikan dapat diterima dengan optimal dan dapat memengaruhi kepuasan pasien. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan kepuasan pasien. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuisioner komunikasi terapeutik perawat dan kuisioner kepuasaan pasien yang telah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas sebelumnya. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitik korelasi dengan menggunakan rancangan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 67 responden. Data penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi chi square. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 53,7% perawat melakukan komunikasi terapeutikyang baik dan 55,2% pasien merasa puas. Hasil uji chi square didapatkan p value 0,001 dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan kepuasan pasien di Badan Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Kabupaten Tabanan. Komunikasi terapeutik perawat diharapkan dapat ditingkatkan dan diterapkan dalam pemberian asuhan keperawatan, dan peneliti selanjutnya dapat menemukan faktor-faktor lain yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi terapeutik perawat sehingga kepuasan pasien dapat lebih meningkat.
