Abstract

Lobster  merupakan komoditi ekspor perikanan laut. Kebumen merupakan daerah penghasil Lobster, selama tahun 2014 menghasilkan Lobster sebanyak 8.571 kg senilai Rp. 3.397.000.000,00. Nelayan Kebumen biasa menangkap Lobster dengan jaring insang dan jenis perangkap krendet. Di Negara maju penangkapan Lobster sudah menggunakan bubu karena konstruksinya dapat dimodifikasi sesuai tingkah laku ikan targetnya. Lobster cenderung merambat daripada berenang sehingga modifikasi dilakukan pada kemiringan dinding bubu yaitu kemiringan 45° dan 60°. Lobster lebih mudah mencapai mulut bubu, memungkinkan terjatuh dan terperangkap di dalam badan bubu. Lama perendaman dibedakan menjadi 12 jam mempertimbangkan efektifitas umpan dan 18 jam sesuai kebiasaan nelayan. Sehingga diketahui lama perendaman dan kemiringan dinding bubu yang baik untuk menangkap Lobster dan interaksi keduanya. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Januari 2015 di perairan Argopeni, Kebumen. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental fishing dan deskriptif studi kasus. Penentuan lokasi penelitian dengan metode simple random sampling. Penelitian diulang 12 kali. Analisis data menggunakan Ms. Excel dengan uji t-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan 12 jam, t hitung bubu dengan kemiringan dinding 45° adalah 5,06 sedangkan bubu dengan kemiringan dinding 60° adalah 4,59. Perlakuan 18 jam, t hitung bubu dengan kemiringan dinding 45° adalah 6 sedangkan bubu dengan kemiringan dinding 60° adalah 6,8. Simpulan yang dapat diambil, alat tangkap yang baik digunakan adalah bubu kerucut terpotong dengan kemiringan dinding 60°. Sedangkan lama waktu perendaman alat tangkap yang baik adalah 18 jam. Interaksi keduanya adalah bubu kemiringan dinding 45° sebaiknya direndam selama 12 jam sedangkan bubu kemiringan dinding 60° sebaiknya direndam selama 18 jam. Lobster is one of the fisheries export commodities. Kebumen was district which centra of Lobster, during 2014 producted as many 8.571 kg valuable Rp. 3.397.000.000,00. Fishermens in Kebumen caught Lobster by gill nets and krendet. In the develop countries the activity to catch Lobster had used bubu becaused the construction could be modified according to the behavior of fish target. Lobster prefer tend to creeping then swimming so the wall of bubu was modified to 45° and 60° slope. Lobster easier to touch the mouth of bubu and would be trapped on the body of bubu. The immersing of fishing gear divided into 12 hours (bait effectivity) and 18 hours (fishermens habit). The research had been done on January 2015 in Argopeni water, Kebumen. The method used was experimental fishing and descriptive case studies. The locations of research were taken by simple random sampling. Each experiment were repeated 12 times. Analysis of the data using Ms. Excel with t-Test. The results showed that the t value of bubu with 45° wall slope and immersing 12 hours is 5,07 however immersing 18 hours is 6,01. The t value of bubu with 60° wall slope and immersing 12 hours is 4,59 however immersing 18 hours is 6,8. The research conclude that the best gear used was truncated cone traps with 60° wall slope and 18-hour immersing. Interaction both are bubu with 45° wall slope should be immersing for 12 hours while bubu with 60° wall slope should be immersing for 18 hours.

Abstract

Catches handling is one of the factors that affect the freshness and quality of fish catches. The effort made by the government in maintaining the quality of fishery products is by issuing KEPMEN-KP 52A/2013 concerning in Quality Assurance and Safety Requirements for Fishery Products in the Production, Processing, and Distribution Process. Government alignments by issuing KEPMEN-KP 52A/2013 are expected to produce good, safe, and healthy fishery products. The purpose of this reseacrh is to determine the activities of catches handling and determine the suitability of handling activities in KM Bina Maju with KEPMEN KP 52A/2013. The research method is a case study. The object or location of fish handling activities in KM Bina Maju that have implemented the 3C1Q Clean, Careful, Cold, and Quick principles. The suitability of handling activities in KM Bina Maju with KEPMEN KP 52A/2013, is the availability of hatch used for storage of catches that are separate from the engine room and ABK room. It's just that the hatch is not yet equipped with a sea water cooling engine and automatic air temperature control. The suitability of the workers with KEPMEN KP 52A/2013 is a condition of ABK that is healthy, does not smoke, and not spits in the storage area. The discrepancy is in the case of lack of awareness in the use of work clothes and hand washing activities before catch handling activities.

Abstract

The fisheries sector has a strategic role in national development. WPP 572 and 573 are the broad waters and located in the Indian ocean. This area has a quiet fish potential, especially from group of pelagic fishes as skipjack tuna, bigeye tuna, mackerel scad, yellowfin tuna, Indian mackerel, and mackerel tuna. However, in terms of utilization of fish resources, WPP 572 and 573 are currently experiencing a fully exploited period, especially for small and large pelagic fish. One of the methods to overcome fully exploited conditions is by managing the limitation on the size of fish that are fit to be caught. The method used in this research was a descriptive method. The sample was taken based on the purposive sampling method, by taking several types of fish caught according to their respective types which were considered to represent all the fish that had been caught. The number of fish samples adjusts to the capacity of the large pan which contains 18-20 large fish, and 50-100 small fish. The total number of catches was 75,878 kg. The main catch was 57,435 kg and bycatch was 18,443 kg. Percentage of catches were skipjack tuna (72% feasible, 28% unfit), baby tuna (100% unfit), yellowfin tuna (51% feasible, 49% unfit), mackerel scad, mackerel tuns, dolphinfish, and other fish (100% feasible). The whole fish caught in KM Bintang Sampurna-B according to the number of samples measured shows that 74% are fit to catch and 26% are not fit to be caught.

Abstract

ABSTRACTHang-in ratio (HR) will determine the characteristics of lobster caught by bottom gillnet, e.g number, size (weight and length) and quality. Higher hang-in ratio means more net material needed per length unit to develop a set of bottom gillnet.  At the same time, higher hang-in ratio may increase the probability of lobster being entangled, so it can decrease the quality of the catches. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum design of bottom gillnet in Palabuhanratu, West Java by considering the effect of different hang-in ratio (52%; 41% and 29%) on the characteristics of lobster caught, easier of releasing the catches from the net, and the material needed. A field work was carried out to perform an experimental fishing consisted of 23 fishing trips during October to November 2016. Statistical tests did not show any effect of the hang-in ratio. Based on scoring method, the best hang-in ratio is 29% due to capture the number of types of catches at least, easier of releasing catches from the net and fewest material needed.Keywords: bottom gillnet, hang-in ratio, lobster, PalabuhanratuABSTRAKPenggunaan hang-in ratio (HR) akan berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik hasil tangkapan lobster yang ditangkap dengan jaring insang dasar, seperti: jumlah, berat, panjang dan kualitas (kelengkapan tubuh). Penggunaan hang-in ratio yang besar akan meningkatkan penggunaan bahan atau mata jaring persatuan panjang dalam pembuatan satu unit jaring insang dasar. Penggunaan hang-in ratio yang besar pada jaring mengakibatkan semakin sulit lobster dilepaskan dari puntalan jaring karena tingkat kekenduran jaring yang tinggi. Jika tidak berhati-hati saat melepaskan lobster dari puntalan jaring dapat mematahkan bagian tubuh lobster (menurunkan kualitas hasil tangkapan). Tujuan penelitian adalah menentukan desain terbaik jaring insang dasar dengan melihat perbedaan hasil tangkapan, kemudahan melepaskan hasil tangkapan dari jaring dan penggunaan bahan jaring dari hang-in ratio yang berbeda, yaitu (52%, 41% dan 29%) di Palabuhanratu, Jawa Barat. Penelitian eksperimen ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober sampai November 2016 dengan 23 kali trip penangkapan. Uji statistik penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga jenis hang-in ratiotidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap karakteristik hasil tangkapan lobster. Namun, berdasarkan skoring HR terbaik yang digunakan pada jaring adalah 29% karena menangkap jumlah jenis hasil tangkapan paling sedikit, lebih mudah melepaskan hasil tangkapan dari jaring, membutuhkan bahan jaring paling sedikit.Kata kunci:  jaring insang dasar, hang-in ratio, lobster, Palabuhanratu

Abstract

Lobster is one of the commodities that Indonesia export fisheries worth selling high. The value of selling lobster is affected by type, size, and condition or completeness of her body. Palabuhanratu is one of the centers of the lobster fishery in the South of West Java. Research on condition of fishing lobster in Palabuhanratu was done in April through November 2016 include the type, gender, number, and size (carapace length and weight) and its relationship with regulatory. Observation and measurement of the collecting is done in the lobster that come for each/sold to the warehouse by fisherman and follows directly the activities of catching lobsters. The data already obtained tabulated and analyzed. The results showed that types of lobsters captured fisherman Palabuhanratu are Panulirus ornatus, Panulirus penicillatus, Panulirus versicolor and Panulirus homarus. The majority of lobsters are caught is a kind of lobster P. homarus and P. ornatus and then followed P. penicillatus and P. versicolor. The number of the male for P. homarus, P. versicolor and P. ornatus more than females while the females of P. penicillatus more than males. The majority of the lobster weights less than 300 grams and carapace length less than 8 cm. The body condition of fishing lobster in Palabuhanratu based on the lobster fishery regulations that exist for all types of lobsters is  a majority yet decent catch. Keywords: type, lobster, Palabuhanratu, size

Abstract

The fishery resources found in the waters of the Bali Strait are very high from small pelagic to large pelagic fish. The abundance of fishery resources in these waters makes fishermen choose the type of catch to be taken. The types of catches obtained by fishermen vary, this is influenced by the fishing gear used, one of which is handline fishing gear. This research was conducted from May to June 2021. Primary data collection was carried out by purposive sampling method. Researchers participate in fishing activities directly. From the results of the unloading activities of the catches of four fishing boats, the main types of catches on the ulur fishing boats are kenyar (Sarda orientalis), banyar cobs (Euthynnus affinis), and layur (Trichiurus lepturus).  Bycatch obtained from four fishing boats, there are seven types of fish, namely Lanjaman Shark (Carcharhinus falciformis), Squid (Loligo sp), Manta Ray (Mobula birostris), Blue Kite (Decapterus macarellus), Slengseng (Scomber australasicus), Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus albacares), and Marlin Black (Istiompax indica).

Abstract

Cakalang merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan ekspor Indonesia yang memiliki nilai jual tinggi. Salah satu perairan Indonesia yang menghasilkan ikan Cakalang adalah Kawasan Indonesia Timur (KIT). Salah satu KIT yang menghasilkan ikan cakalang adalah perairan Maumere. Nelayan Maumere biasa menggunakan alat penangkap ikan jenis pancing untuk menangkap cakalang. Pancing yang digunakan adalah jenis pole and line (huhate) yang memiliki konstruksi sederhana terdiri dari Joran/bambu, benang, dan mata pancing. Walaupun alat tangkap ini memiliki konstruksi sederhana namun dapat menangkap ikan dengan nilai ekonomis tinggi. Hal tersebut yang melatarbelakangi dilakukannya pengamatan terhadap pengoperasian alat penangkap ikan jenis pole and line. Pengambilan data secara langsung dengan mengikuti kegiatan pengoperasian alat tangkap dan melakukan wawancara terhadap nelayan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di lapang, diketahui bahawasanya di Maumere nelayan menggunakan alat yang terdiri dari joran, tali kelapa, tali utama, tali sekunder, tasi, timah pemberat, pembungkus timah, cincin, tali rapia, bulu ayam dan mata pancing. Kapal yang digunakan dilengkapi dengan flying deck sebagai tempat para pemancing. Operasi penangkapan ikan diawali dengan persiapan perbekalan melaut. Pengambilan umpan di nelayan bagan dan pemancingan ikan cakalang. Ikan yang tertangkap akan dibersihkan dengan disiram air laut dan disimpan di palka dengan diselimuti es balok untuk menjaga kualitas ikan hasil tangkapan.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service were to improve the skills of Partner Village "Kampung Vaname" cultivators in making modified Cast Net so as to minimize deaths that occur after partial harvest. The methods used in this service were socialization and training. The target of this service is the cultivator of Partner Village "Kampung Vaname" Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic of Jembrana. The service activity began with the presentation of the material then continued with training in making Cast Net. Evaluation were done by giving pre-test and post-test to all training participants. Based on the service results, there was an increase in the understanding of the farming group in Partner Village about fishing gear that could be applied in the vannamei shrimp cultivation process, the vannamei shrimp farming group in Partner Village was able to make modified Cast Net fishing gear properly, and modified of Cast Net fishing gear could be one of solution for solving the problem of vaname shrimp farmers related to partial post-harvest shrimp mortality.

Abstract

Bali Strait included in the 573 Fisheries Management Area of Indonesia. One of the dominant commodities in these waters were Bali sardine (Sardinella lemuru). The dynamics of the lemuru fishery in the Bali Strait is fluctuating and tends to decrease. This study aims to determine the sustainability status of the ecological dimensions in the fisheries management of Bali sardine in the Bali Strait. Survey method were used in this study to obtain primary and secondary data related to ecological dimension attributes and then analyzed using the RAPFISH (Rapid Apraisal Technique for Fisheries) method. The results of this study indicate that the ecological dimension of lemuru fishery management in the Bali Strait has an index of 44.03 (less sustainable). There are three sensitive attributes that affect the sustainability of the ecological dimension, there were the level of utilization of fish resources, size of fish caught, and the number of catches. The recommended improvements for the sustainability of the ecological dimension were limiting fishing quotas, limiting the mesh size of fishing gear, and limiting areas and fishing seasons.

Abstract

Perikanan lemuru di Selat Bali memiliki potensi yang besar, sehingga nelayan melakukan eksploitasi besar-besaran terhadap ikan ini khususnya nelayan yang ada di PPN Pengambengan. Salah satu hal yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegah sumber daya ikan lemuru tetap lestari adalah menggunakan alat tangkap yang hanya menangkap ikan lemuru layak tangkap. Nelayan PPN Pengambengan menangkap lemuru menggunakan pukat cincin sebagai alat tangkap. Berdasarkan pengambilan data rata-rata panjang ikan lemuru hasil tangkapan terbagi menjadi ukuran kecil (14,9 cm), ukuran sedang (15,7 cm) dan besar (16,4 cm). Berdasarkan literatur, ukuran layak tangkap ikan lemuru di selat Bali adalah 17,3 cm. Hal ini menjadi alasan bahwa perlu perbaikan ukuran mata jaring dan panjang tali ris yang tepat yang juga disesuaikan dengan aturan Permen KP No. 59 Tahun 2020. Panjang tali ris yang digunakan di lapangan adalah 400 m dengan ukuran mesh size 0,75 inci. Berdasarkan perhitungan ukuran layak tangkap ikan lemuru, harusnya ukuran mata jaring purse seine yang digunakan sebesar 1,5 inci. Gambar desain jaring purse seine modifikasi dibuat 100 kali lebih kecil dari ukuran yang sebenarnya. Kata kunci: lemuru, pukat cincin, Selat Bali
