Abstract

Today, the current development of Batam City is not only in the development of industrial and tourism areas but also leads to the development of agriculture and plantations. This was done as a form of effort in maintaining food security for areas in Batam City, where initially a lot of food needs were supplied from areas on the island of Sumatra. The city of Batam, whose territory consists of islands, creates obstacles in the development of agricultural land and plantations. Among them are types of soil that are difficult for seasonal crops to grow; water resources that depend on rainwater; as well as access to agricultural and plantation locations that are spread across several islands, making it difficult to deliver logistics and agricultural products. Soil conditions greatly affect the quality of the plants produced, and the type of soil will affect the types of plants suitable for planting. Based on these obstacles, the Batam State Polytechnic formed a Community Service team to support the agricultural land development program, one of which was the development team for portable soil condition measuring devices in collaboration with a partner from “Kelompok Tani Maju Mandiri” on Setokok Island. Community service activities are carried out in stages, apart from field surveys in order to identify the needs of farmer groups, the current community service period has reached the development of portable soil condition measuring devices with test results still in laboratory testing and not yet testing on actual agricultural land. The field survey results describe the condition of the partner's agricultural soil, which is brownish-red in color, mostly clay. Plants that are quite successful in the form of green curly chili plants. The water source comes from small rain-fed reservoirs prepared around agricultural land. The results of the measuring instrument design have reached the laboratory testing stage, which has shown the value of soil nutrition. Testing measurements on agricultural land directly and assisting partners in operating measuring instruments will be carried out at the next community service stage.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of four Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) methods in identifying failure indicators in power transformers. Transformer failures can occur in the form of thermal and electrical failures, producing hazardous gases known as fault gases. The insulating oil used in power transformers plays a role in cooling and dissolving these dangerous gases to prevent unrestricted circulation. Determining the type and concentration of gases dissolved in the oil can provide information about transformer failure indicators. Therefore, DGA analysis is conducted to determine effective methods for identifying these failure signs. Oil samples were taken from transformers and analyzed using four different DGA methods. The DGA analysis results revealed varying levels of gas concentration. Based on the analysis results using the Key Gas Method, Roger's Ratio Method, Doernenburg's Ratio Method, and Duval's Triangle Method, it was found that the transformers experienced thermal damage. The Duval's Triangle Method analysis concluded that two transformers had overheated. Thus, the Duval's Triangle Method analysis can be considered an effective method for identifying disturbances in power transformers due to its simple yet effective calculations

Abstract

Elevator are one of the most important transportation these days. Elevator is a link in a tall building that has many floors. The role of the elevator which is always used by the public requires a high level of precision. In this study, researchers made a prototype elevator system using a stepper motor and obtained test results with a maximum error rate of 2% on the 10 cm elevator input using a ruler as a testing tool. The largest comparison of testing result using a ruler and using a rotary encoder is 0.2 cm or 2 mm at the 40 cm elevator input. The precision of the elevator prototype still can be improved by using half step mode when controlling the stepper motor.

Abstract

The rainy season is an obstacle for everyone, especially drying shoes, because rain can hinder the process of drying shoes. Currently, shoes are still dried using the conventional method, namely by utilizing the sun's heat. The next development is a system for drying shoes using gas fuel, but it has the potential for fire. In this final project, a shoe drying system is designed which is controlled using PI control according to a specified setpoint to dry shoes when exposed to rain or at night. To get the appropriate room temperature, the output voltage from the heater needs to be controlled using the Digital Firing Angle. The ignition angle is regulated by the Digital Firing Angle circuit. To maintain the temperature conditions in a stable condition, namely 65°C, this tool is controlled using PI (Proportional Integral) control. This dryer is designed for a maximum of 1 pair of wet shoes. With final humidity results in the drying room ≤ 20%RH. With this final project, it can dry shoes in rainy conditions in 94 minutes for synthetic leather shoes and 104 minutes for leather shoes.

Abstract

Berdasarkan standar Peraturan Umum Instalasi Penangkal Petir (PUIPP) diproleh nilai indeks R yaitu 14 maka pemasangan sistem proteksi petir sangat perlu.
