Abstract

A research entitled “Reading al-Mutanabbi> and Its relation to the Three Caliphsof Abbasid: A Semiotic Analysis” aims to describe semiotically a relation betweenal-Mutanabbi> and the three Caliphs of Abbasid. The relation shows the role andsuccess of al-Mutanabbi>> as an outstanding Arabian poet. The research results inshowing the relation between al-Mutanabbi> and the three caliphs of Abbasid determinedby some factors, namely the character of al-Mutanabbi> , i.e. loyal, stiff,helpful, smart, polite, and arrogant; the characteristics of the poetries, i.e. diplomatic,contradictive, hyperbola, pars pro toto; and the pattern of the relation created,i.e. patronage, friendship, and mutual relation. Although the character is animportant element to maintain the quality of the relation, the special characteristicof the al-Mutanabbi>‘s poetries is the most significant element to create the goodrelation with the three caliphs. In addition, the characteristics of al-Mutanabbi> ‘spoetries are needed by the caliphs to increase their image in front of their publicand enemies.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper attempts to look at the tradition of orality in pre-Islamic Arabic literature based on the elements of the conceptual Ruth Finnegan on oral tradition and verbal art, namely Performance, Composition, and Transmission. In terms of performance, Arabic poetry grew from geographical conditions of the  Arabian Peninsula so that they make their communities in search of solace in the form of poetry. Poetry is displayed at various moments and each tribe has a poet certainly reliable. In terms of composition, Arabic poetry is an old literary tradition and the strongest. This tradition is able to form a system that is so strong convention. Until the 19th century, Arabic poetry systems are difficult to break away from this convention. Even now, it has not been fully able to break away from one aspect of this convention. From the aspect of the transmission, Arabic poetry submitted, either verbally or in writing just that it could be inferred from some clues that lead to the first option. Keywords: -Tradition, -Arabic literature, -Pre Islamic

Abstract

This study aims to describe terrorism through figurative language styles, both comparisons and linkages. This studyuses a stylistic approach that focuses its study on forms of linguistic formation, especially those contained in literarytexts. Stylistics is intended to explain the function of beauty in the use of certain linguistic forms, from aspects of sound, structure, lexical, figurative language, rhetorical means, to graphology. Based on the results of the above research on the poem ? ??????? by Nizar Taufik Qabbani, it was found that the types of figurative language styles in the lines of the poem, among others, are simile ( ?? ? ? ? ?? ), metaphor (???? ? ? ??? ), allegory ( ?? ? ?? ?? ), metonymy ( ? ??? ? ?? ). ), and synecdoche ( ?? ?? ?? ) in the type of pars pro toto and in the type of totum properte, but dominates in the description of the term terrorism in this poem.

Abstract

Community Service with the theme Marketing the Potential Tourism of Pagaralam for the Middle East people is aimed to advocate the public to be aware of tourism and to become independent tourism ambassadors for their own region. The team from the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program collaborated with the community represented by the academic community of the Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School to develop a social media-based tourism marketing pattern (Youtube). This process begins with brainstorming, composing a narrative text, translating text into Arabic, taking pictures and video, editing, and downloading video to Youtube. The result of the program is the appearance of a short video in Arabic as a form of marketing the potential tourism of Pagaralam to the Middle East people.

Abstract

Abstrak Puisi Arab telah berumur ribuan tahun. Keberadaannya sebagai media ekspresi, hiburan, dan informasi membuat puisi terus bertumbuh hingga sekarang. Keindahan puisi Arab dengan pola ritme dan sajak juga menarik banyak orang, baik masyarakat awam maupun masyarakat ilmiah. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mencoba menjadikan pembacaan puisi Arab sebagai cara untuk memotivasi pelajar agar lebih mencintai bahasa Arab. Penerima sasaran PKM mendapatkan manfaat dari program ini dengan tumbuhnya kecintaan pada bahasa Arab setelah mendengar pembacaan puisi Arab yang merdu secara musikalitas.

Abstract

Bangsa Arab dan sastra adalah identik. Oleh karena itulah al-Qur’an diturunkan, yaitu untuk menandingi kedigdayaan sastrawan Arab. Perjalanan para sastrawan itupun tetap eksis hingga zaman modern. Di antara yang memiliki nama besar dalam percaturan sastra Arab modern adalah nama-nama berikut ini; Mustafa Lutfi al-Manfaluti (1876), Toha Husein (1889), Taufiq al-Hakim (1898), Ali Ahmad Bakasir (1910), Najib Mahfuz (1911), Yusuf Siba’I (1917), Yusuf Idris (1927), Najib el-Kilany (1931), Nawal as-Sa’dawy (1931), dan Samirah binti al-Jazirah (1943). Dua sastrawan berikut: Ali Ahmad Bakasir dan Najib Kailany ternyata memiliki kedekatan dengan Indonesia. Ali Ahmad Bakasir merupakan sastrawan Arab kelahiran Indonesia yang menampilkan drama tentang Indonesia di Mesir dan berperan dalam persiapan kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia. Sementara Najil el-Kilany memiliki perhatian terhadap peristiwa G-30/S-PKI.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity is intended to enhance motivation and to improve the four fundamental skills in learning Arabic Language for students of Darussalam Islamic Boarding School in Lampung. In order to achieve this goal, the activity uses the drama method with a lecturing approach, mentoring, rehearsal, and culminates in a performance. The result of this activity is that the selected students who become actors are highly motivated in the learning process (writing, reading, speaking, and listening). The composition of the text of the legend 'Pulau Kemaro' is also easier to perform as it is associated with the cultural context of the legend.
