Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of research were to find out: (1) which one have better learning achievement, the students receiving TPS, those receiving GI or those receiving PBL learning models, (2) which one have better learning achievement, the students with high, those with medium or those with low spatial ability, (3) in each learning model, which one have better learning achievement, the students with high, those with medium or those with low spatial ability, and (4) in each spatial ability, which one have better learning achievement, the students receiving TPS, those receiving GI or those receiving PBL learning models. This study was a quasi-experimental research with a 3 x 3 factorial design. The population of research was all of the 8th graders of Public Junior High School throughout Surakarta City. The sample was taken using stratified cluster random sampling. The instruments used for collecting data were mathematics learning achievement and spatial ability tests. Before used for data collection, the instruments of achievement and spatial ability tests were tried out first. Technique of analyzing data used was a two-way analysis of variance test with unbalanced  cells. Considering the result of hypothesis testing, the following conclusions could be drawn. (1) PBL type of cooperative learning have better learning achievement than the GI and TPS types did, GI type have learning achievement as good as the TPS type did. (2) The students with high spatial ability have better learning achievement than those with medium and those with low spatial ability, while those with medium spatial ability have better learning achievement than those with low spatial ability. (3) In various learning models, the students with high spatial ability have better learning achievement than those with medium and those with low spatial ability, while those with medium spatial ability have better learning achievement than those with low spatial ability. (4) In each category of spatial ability, the students receiving PBL type of cooperative learning have better learning achievement than those receiving GI and TPS types did, those receiving GI type have learning achievement as good as those receiving TPS type did.Keywords: TPS, GI, PBL, Learning Achievement, Spatial Ability

Abstract

For the Bima people, the Mbojo tribe's Peta Kapanca tradition has very sacred symbols and meanings that must be carried out in every wedding procession. The Peta Kapanca tradition not only reveals a cultural identity and marriage tradition, but it also examines the Islamic values that are embedded in it. The objectives of this paper was to see how the Peta Kapanca tradition was carried out at Mbojo Tribe weddings in terms of procession and Islamic values. This is a descriptive qualitative study using an ethnographic approach. The findings show that the process of implementing the Peta Kapanca tradition at a Mbojo Tribe wedding is as follows: (1) the prospective bride sits on the stage (uma ruka), (2) the straight hand is placed on a pillow on the banana leaf, and the straight legs are straight and grounded with banana leaves, (3) the divine kalam is read, followed by the remembrance of Kapanca in the form of istigfar, creed, prayers, recitation of the verses of the Qur'an, and (4) crushing henna leaves which are mashed in the palms of the bride-to-be. This Peta Kapanca's cultural process contains good values such as aqidah, worship, and moral values.

Abstract

This research is located in SMA Islam Panglima Besar Soedirman 1 Bekasi. This research aims to perceive and obtain empirical data related to marketing strategy in educational service and market positioning. This research is conducted since March 2017 until July 2017. The approach that used in this research is qualitiatve with descriptive method. Data collection is done through interview, observation, and documentation study. The sources of research data came from key informants namely the headmaster of Islamic Senior High School Panglima Soedirman 1 Bekasi, as well as several supporting informants namely Vice Principal of Student Affairs, Vice Principal of Curriculum and Vice Principal Division of Public Relations and Infrastructure. The results of this study indicate that: (1) market segmentation analysis conducted by SMA Islam Panglima Besar Soedirman 1 Bekasi includes demographic segmentation including segment of education level, economic level, religion and geographical segmentation covering residence segment, (2) SMA Islam Panglima Besar Soedirman 1 Bekasi determines the target market by evaluating the attractive segment, (3) SMA Islam Panglima Besar Soedirman 1 Bekasi determines the market position by showing the superiority and characteristic owned such as school achievement, complete facilities, curriculum with additional religious education Islam, and the quality of schools that have received "A" accreditation and ISO 9001: 2015 certificates, and submitted them to specified target markets. Abstract

This study aims to examine teachers’ perceptions of professional learning community. The study was conducted from July 2017 – October 2017 in six state senior high schools in Central Jakarta. The method employed in this study was descriptive quantitative. The samples of this research were 108 teachers in Central Jakarta was determined by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by using Professional Learning Communities Assessment – Revised developed by Olivier, D.F., & Hipp, K.K. (2010) that has been translated into Bahasa Indonesia. The research found that there were 60 teachers (54%) have high perceptions on school as professional learning community, while 48 teachers (44%) have low perceptions. Subsequently, based on the analysis of each dimension, all the dimensions of the professional learning community variables were perceived low by the teacher. Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the effect of empowerment toward procedural justice of SDN regrouping teacher in South Jakarta. This research use quantitative approach with survey methods. The sample of this research is 200 Civil Servant teachers (PNS) of regrouping Elementary Public-School teachers which is appointed randomly from 59 Elementary Public-School in South Jakarta. Data collection was carried out by using instruments in form of questionnaires to measure four research variables. The result of this study indicate that empowerment has a direct positive effect toward procedural justice.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the world of education in preventing corruption through inculcating anti-corruption values ​​in the curriculum. The method used in this article is a qualitative method. Judging from the type, this article is a literature review. From the research, the results show that the instilling of anti-corruption character values ​​in the curriculum can be implemented at every level of education, and can be implemented in all subjects with due regard to management, principles and principles of the curriculum. Anti-corruption in chemistry learning in schools can be implemented by inserting each lesson, the Problem Basic Learning (PBL) approach model, making LKPD with the ADDIE approach model, the ethnoscience approach, integrating chemistry material with increasing faith and piety, instilling religious attitudes by inserting verses of the Koran and the Prophet's Hadith on learning materials, strong cooperation of all stakeholders to create conducive conditions.

Abstract

Salah satu kelemahan mendasar dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas X-3 SMAN 2 Lembar yaitu kurangnya aktivitas siswa, siswa cenderung pasif, jenuh dan kaku dalam proses pembelajaran. Hal ini disebabkan karna metode yang digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran bersifat konvensional, dimana dalam proses belajar guru mendominasi proses pembelajaran. Hal ini berdampak pada rendahnya aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika. Salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi siswa dalam melajar adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe berkirim salam dan soal.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe berkirim salam dan soal. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 2 Lembar dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 28 orang dan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, evaluasi, dan diakhiri refleksi tiap akhir siklus. Dari hasil penelitian, aktivitas siswa pada siklus I memperoleh rata-rata skor 11,33 dengan kategori cukup aktif dan hasil ketuntasan belajar pada siklus I terdapat 15 orang siswa yang tuntas dari 28 siswa yang mengikuti tes atau ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 53,57%. Ini menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar siswa belum tercapai.Pada siklus II aktivitas siswa meningkat menjadi 14,31 dengan kategori aktif dan ketuntasan belajar siswa terdapat 25 siswa yang tuntas dari 28 siswa yang mengikuti tes atau sebesar 89,28%.Hal ini menunjukkan aktivitas siswa dan ketuntasan belajar sudah tercapai karena aktivitas siswa tergolong aktif dan ketuntasan belajar mencapai kurang lebih atau sama dengan 85% dalam satu kelas dengan perolehan skor lebih besar atau sama dengan 68. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe kooperatif tipe berkirim salam dan soal dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas X-3 SMAN 2 Lembar tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 pada materi pokok Logika matematika.

Abstract

This study aims to shed some light on the use of Project Based Learning (PBL) in teaching translation at an Islamic university. Involving 35 students of English department, a Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles and semi-structured interview were adopted to examine the effectiveness of PBL and to explore the students’ perspectives toward strengths and weaknesses of the method. The results revealed that PBL was proven effective to enhance students’ translation performances (p-Value 0.000 < 0.05). The results further demonstrated that PBL was an effective method to develop students’ soft-skills such as communicative competence, critical thinking, problem solving ability, and creativity. However, the students also pointed out that doing translation project using PBL method required sufficient time allocation since it based on contexts and experiences as in real working environments. The results contribute to providing fruitful insights for teachers and college authorities to incorporate PBL as an alternative method for teaching translation. Last but not least, it is a worth saying that project based learning is a promising method for teaching translation at university level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the work program of supervision, implementation of supervision, and the constraints of school principals in implementing educational supervision. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative with a case study research design that focuses on teacher performance. The research subjects included the principal, vice-principal/Guardian Angel (GA), and classroom teachers at MIM PK Kartasura. The main data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis procedures are data reduction, data display, and verification. The results showed: (1) The educational supervision work program carried out by the head of the MIM PK Kartasura Madrasah already had a good design for the next one year period and was reformulated in the coming year; (2) The implementation of educational supervision implemented by the head of MIM PK Kartasura is carried out with a direct approach. Assessment of educational supervision is compiled in the form of a teacher report card. There are three forms of educational supervision at MIM PK Kartasura, namely plan to lesson/RPP assessment, teaching supervision, and disciplinary assessment, (3) Obstacles faced by school principals in the implementation of educational supervision, among others; (a) educational supervision approach, the principal has little time so that the implementation of supervision is difficult to synchronize, (b) educational supervision techniques, paying more attention to the psychological aspects of teachers and this factor greatly determines the implementation of the educational supervision program, and (c) behavior teachers at the time of educational supervision, the conditions of the teachers were very varied and highly dependent on the techniques used by the principal.
