THE EFFECT OF HOUSEHOLD INCOME ON BROILER MEAT CONSUMPTION AT Â KLEAK URBAN VILLAGE OF MALALAYANG SUB DISTRICT Â MANADO. The study was done to determine Â the amount of broiler meat consumption in each household based on the level of household income at Kleak urban village Â of Malalayang sub district in Manado. The survey was Â used to get primary and secondary data. Primary data were taken from 30 samples of respondents obtained through interviews using the questionnaire.Â Kleak is one among urban village in Malalayang Sub District with the total Â of 806 households and consist of 2.705 population. Data Based on the variables and their measurements, the results of this study showed that income had the positive effect on broiler meat consumption of households on the Kleak urban village Â Â Â Malalayang Sub District in Manado following the formulation, Y = 19368.49 + 0.013 X. This implied that as income increases per IDR Â 1Â consumption increased by 0.013 kg assuming the other variables are fixed (ceteris paribus).

ABSTRACT RENTABILITYÂ ANALYSISÂ OF LAYINGÂ DUCKÂ FARMÂ ATÂ Â THE WOLAANGÂ VILLAGE LANGOWAN TIMUR DISTRICT OF MINAHASA REGENCY. Study was conducted at Wolaang village, East Lagowan district of Minahasa regency on August 8 to September 5, 2015. The objective of this study was to evaluate the rentability laying duck farmÂ at the Wolaang village. Survey method was applied in this study. Wolaang village was defined as study location and chosen the purposive sampling based on consideration of the highest duck population (5924 heads), widest wet rise areas of 161.35 ha, and more than 20 animal farmers. Data of primary and secondary bases were used in this study. RentabilityÂ analysis model was applied using formula, R= L/M x 100%. Results showed that animal farmer education was 60 percents passed the elementary school, 25 percents passed junior high school and 15 percents passed senior high school. The period of raising animals of the 1- to 10-year experience was 25 percents, the period of the 11- to 20 year experience was 20 percents, that of the 21- to 30 year experience was 25 percents, that of the 31- to 40-year experience was 15 percents, that of the 41- to 50-year experience was 10 percents, and that of more than 50-year experience was 5 percents. The rentability analysis found the value of 69 percents indicating that the use of infestation financial capital of IDR 100,000.- was able to gain the benefit of the IDR 60,000.-. The reach of the values of R was more than the deposit rent of the BRI bank of 6.5 percents. Therefore, it can be concluded that farm rentability of laying duck was more than the BRI bank deposit rent. Â Key word: Laying duck, rentability.

INTRODUCTION OF TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT FARMING OF DUCK IN PASLATEN VILLAGE DISTRICT OF KAKAS REGENCY OF MINAHASA.The purpose of raising ducks by members of the Kinakas Jaya group was to produce eggs and meat. The eggs produced were around 60-70 percent of the total number of duck members owned by group members. The low production andÂ productivity of ducks causes low income received by group members and not continuous whereas the demand for duck products has increased from year to year. Duck farming in North Sulawesi has a very large development prospect in terms of the population that tends to increase every year. The problem with raising ducks by group members was still traditional and the availability of DOD was not continuous. Based on these problems, empowerment of group members was carried out, namely extension and introduction of hatching machines. The research was conducted with the aim to find out the extent of empowerment activities in supporting duck business in Paslaten Village, Kakas District. The research method used was a survey method. The sample location was Paslaten Village, which was determined by purposive sampling (a village with a group of duck farmers). Respondents were members of the Kinakas Jaya group who were empowered through the introduction of technology. The age of the respondents ranged from 42-50 years with junior high school level (37.5%) and high school 62.5%. Extension was done and responded well by group members. Furthermore, the process of hatching eggs was carried out by group members. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the technology was successfully adopted by group members, but the success rate of hatching eggs was still low. Suggestions submitted need to increase the frequency of counseling and application of technologyÂ
