Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding soursop leaf flour (Annona Muricata L.) to the level of grit and protein content of salted duck eggs. This study used a Complete Reasoning Design (CRD) with 4 levels of treatment and 3 replications, namely P0 = no treatment, P1 = addition of 10 grams of soursop leaf flour, P2 = addition of 20 grams of soursop leaf flour, P3 = addition of 30 grams of soursop leaf flour. The results showed that with the addition of soursop leaf flour on the level of grit, no significant effect on salted duck eggs and no significant effect on protein content. The average value of the highest to the lowest level of cleanliness is P1 of (4.44), P3 of (4.39), P0 of (4.02) and P2 of (3.88). The average value of the highest salt content to the lowest is P3 of (22.85), P2 of (22.43), P1 of (22.42) and P0 of (22.40).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving cinnamon flour in the ration to the carcass percentage and carcass weight of broiler ducks. This research was conducted in September-October 2021, Maritengae sub-district, Sidrap Regency. The design model used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications so that there were 12 units of observation and where each unit consisted of 5 birds so that a total of 60 observations were made. The feed was arranged according to the nutritional needs of the ducks. The treatments were: P0: No control treatment 0%, P1: Cinnamon bark flour 1% of the total feed, P2: Cinnamon bark flour 3% of the total feed and P3: Cinnamon bark flour 5% of the total feed. The results showed that the addition of Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) flour to quail feed had no significant effect (P>0.05) on carcass weight, while the addition of Cinnamomum (Cinnamomum burmanii) flour to quail feed had no significant effect (P>0.05). to the carcass percentage.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Eggs are products from livestock that are easily damaged so that further handling is needed so that their nutritional value does not decrease. The problems faced by partners are: 1) The current Covid-19 pandemic, the economy is starting to decline this also has an impact on partners, products from livestock have decreased prices because market demand has also decreased; 2) knowledge of partners about handling, post-harvest livestock products and how to improve the quality of livestock products; 3) the absence of cooperation between partners and other parties in the aspect of product marketing, and 4) marketing systems are still carried out traditionally. The solutions offered to overcome this are: 1) conducting training and counseling on the management of livestock products through preservation, namely salted eggs substituted with dragon fruit skin, aimed to improve egg quality and increase the shelf life of the product; 2) providing assistance and training on salted egg processing and product packaging; 3) providing assistance in collaborating with parties related to product marketing; and 4) mentoring and training in online marketing through social media. The strategy is to increase the demand and selling price of salted eggs by substituting dragon fruit peel extract (Hylocereus polyrhizuz). Salted duck eggs are substituted with dragon fruit peel extract which is expected to meet macronutrient needs during the Covid-19 pandemic. The macronutrient in question is the need for animal protein derived from eggs. Keywords: Covid-19, Salted eggs, Dragon fruit skin, Macronutrients.

Abstract

There are several studies which state that Cinnamomum burmannii flour can be used as a natural feed additive for livestock at a certain level. This research was conducted to determine the effect of adding cinnamon bark powder (Cinnamomum burmannii) to laying quail (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) feed on consumption and conversion. This study used 120 laying quails. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The four treatments included K0: control or without administration of cinnamon bark flour, K1: addition of 2.5% cinnamon bark flour, K2: addition of 5% cinnamon bark flour, and K3: addition of 7.5% cinnamon bark flour to feed. The research was conducted during the grower period until the peak of production. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by the average difference test using Duncan. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the effect of adding cinnamon bark powder to the feed had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption and conversion. The highest ration consumption was the K1 treatment with a cinnamon bark powder concentration of 2.5% with an average of 17.79 g/head and the lowest was the K3 treatment with a cinnamon bark powder concentration of 7.5% with an average of 17.73 gr /tail. Whereas in the conversion value the average value in the K0 treatment is relatively the same as the K1 and K2 treatments, while the K3 gets the highest average value.
