Abstract

Abstract: Social Reflection on the Novel Mei Merah 1998: Kala Arwah Berkisah by Naning Pranoto: A Study of the Sociology of Literature by Alan Swingewood. This study aims to describe phrases, sentences, or paragraphs that describe social reflections and reflections of the times contained in the novel Mei Merah 1998: Kala Arwah Berkisah  by Naning Pranoto using the study of sociology of literature by Alan Swingewood.  This research is qualitative.  The data in this study were obtained by the case study method.  The source of the data was obtained by reading the novel Mei Merah 1998: Kala Arwah by Naning Pranoto. The results of this study are forms of social reflection and reflection of the times that describe social phenomena that occurred during the reformation period where there were rebellions and looting and rape committed by demonstrators.

Abstract

The Narrative Structure in the Novel Cinta Is Never On Time by Puthut EA. This study aims to reveal the narrative structure contained in the novel Cinta Tak Never timely by Puthut EA based on Mieke Bal's narrative review. The type of research used is qualitative research. Data was collected by sorting out quotes in Puthut EA's Cinta Is Never On Time novel which contains a narrator, focalizer and fabula. The results of this study indicate that the narrator and focalizer are played by the character “I” in the story. Fabula has an important role in shaping the series of stories and plots in the novel being analyzed. Fabula which consists of events and the location of the events, as well as actors. Events and locations are combined in the analysis, so that the storyline can be arranged based on logical and chronological elements, namely arranged systematically (sequentially) starting from the mother's anxiety then meeting with several girls, the main character experiencing severe stress to healing and acceptance of himself.

Abstract

The Portrait Of The Character Needs In The Novel Of Kubah By Ahmad Tohari (The Humanistic Psychological Theory Of Abraham Maslow). This study aims to describe the needs of Karman as the main character in Ahmad Tohari's Kubah novel by using a review of Abraham Maslow's Humanistic Psychology. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data is in the form of text excerpts that reveal aspects of the needs of karman figures obtained from the sixth edition of Ahmad Tohari's novel Kubah. Data analysis techniques using documentation techniques. The results of this study will reveal the existence of five aspects of the needs of the karman figures as the main characters namely: (1) Physiological Needs, (2) Needs of security, (3) Needs of recognition and affection, (4) Needs of Appreciation, and (5) Needs Self-actualization.

Abstract

Abstract: Cultural Symbols in Novels Arrive Before Departure by Faisal Oddang (Charles Sanders Pierce's Semiotics Review). This study aims to describe the cultural aspects in terms of icons, indexes, and symbols in Faisal Oddang's Tiba Before Berangkat novel by studying the semiotic theory of Charles Sanders Pierce. This research is a descriptive qualitative research type. The data source for this research is the novel Arrive Before Departure by Faisal Oddang. The data of this research are quotations containing cultural aspects based on a review of Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory consisting of 3 signs. The data were collected using library techniques. The results showed that the cultural aspects in terms of icons, indexes and symbols are contained in Faisal Oddang's novel Tiba Before Berangkat.

Abstract

Study of Albert Camus' Absurdity in the Novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala: Psychoanalytic Riview. This research aims to study the validity in the novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala by Triskaidekaman based on the context of absurdity thought announced by Albert Camus with the concept of Freud. The method used is qualitative which is descriptive. Data is collected using reading and note-recording techniques. Analysis of character characters in the novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala by Triskaidekaman which is associated with the theory of absurdity camus is about rebellion and the results of this study showed that the rebellion contained in the character characters in the novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala by Triskaidekaman, this led them to the creation of a new meaning of happiness, in accordance with the theory of absurdity Camus later developed with the concept of Freud.
