Abstract

This article deals the role of formal education in the process of enculturation, including six aspects: education and encul-turation, educational policy in Indonesia, educational aspects as cultural phenomena, the functions of culture in education, the role of formal education in the process of enculturation, and the process of enculturation through formal education. The policy of equal right for education is designed to give equal opportunity to all people to get education without discrimination to any ethnic group. Education is an endeavour of developing the community culture to be a modern society, developed and harmonious based on the shared cultural values. Enculturation process is an attempt to guide someone’s attitude and behaviour based on science and skill.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: Pertama, menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan tanggapan mahasiswa melalui penentuan tema dan penokohan dalam cerpen Asa dan Hutan Kalimantan. Kedua, menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan fenomena lingkungan dalam cerpen melalui tanggapan mahasiswa sesuai konsep Garrard. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori ekokritik Greg Garrard (2004). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Populasi sebanyak 247 mahasiswa. Sampel sebanyak 28 mahasiswa. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan cara purposive. Sumber data penelitian, yaitu: 1) cerpen diunduh melalui web https://www.scribd.com, 2) angket berisi tanggapan mahasiswa. Data penelitian adalah tanggapan mahasiswa sesuai angket yang telah diberikan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik angket, baca, dan catat. Keabsahan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi teori dan sumber. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan: (a) pereduksian; (b) penyajian; (c) penyimpulan; dan (d) verifikasi hasil. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) Tema dan penokohan. Tema cerpen Asa dan Hutan Kalimantan adalah tema perlindungan/menjaga hutan, tema perburuan hewan, dan tema variatif. Penokohan, yaitu diperankan oleh tokoh Asa yang tidak pernah melakukan pengrusakan terhadap hutan Kalimantan serta tokoh Asa memanfaat alam sesuai kebutuhan. Dengan kata lain, tokoh Asa memunyai karakter ‘melindungi’ dan tidak serakah pada alam; (2) fenomena lingkungan ditemukan melalui tanggapan mahasiswa adalah fenomena binatang, yaitu perusakan alam akibat perburuan orang utan Kalimantan.This study aims, (1) to analyze and describe student responses through the determination of themes and characterizations in the Asa and Forest Kalimantan short stories. Secondly, analyzing and describing environmental phenomena in the short story through student responses according to Garrard's concept. The theory used in this study is Greg Garrard's (2004) ecocritical theory. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population is 247 students. The samples were 28 students. Sampling is done by a purposive method. Research data sources, namely (1) short stories are downloaded via the web https://www.scribd.com, (2) questionnaires containing student responses. The research data is the students' responses according to the questionnaire given. Data collection is done through a questionnaire, read, and note down techniques. The validity of the data is done through the triangulation of theories and sources. Data analysis is carried out in stages: (a) reduction; (b) presentation; (c) the conclusion; and (d) verification of results. The results of this study indicate (1) Themes and characterizations. The theme of the Asa and Forest Kalimantan short stories is the theme of protection/preservation of the forest, the theme of animal hunting, and varied themes. Characterization, which is played by Asa figures who have never done damage to the forests of Kalimantan and Asa figures use nature as needed. In other words, the character of Asa has the character of ‘protect’ and is not greedy to nature; (2) environmental phenomena discovered through student responses are animal phenomena, namely natural destruction due to the hunting of Bornean Orang Utans.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini berfokus pada kajian linguistik forensik yang membahas mengenai Kasus Hoaks Pandemi Covid-19 yang beredar di media sosial. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kategori kasus hoaks Covid-19 dan menganalisis karakteristik kebahasaan pada kasus kejahatan berbahasa yakni kasus hoaks dimasa pandemi Covid-19. Data dalam penelitian ini didapatkan melalui laman resmi kementrian komunikasi dan informatika (kemenkominfo). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik dokumentasi, teknik baca, teknik catat. Proses analisis data dalam mendeskripsikan kategori hoaks pandemi Covid-19 dengan mengidentifikasi data berdasarkan pemahaman teori kasus hoaks dan memahami hukum sesuai peraturan perundang-undangan. Sedangkan dalam proses menganalisis karakteristik kebahasaan pada kasus hoaks pandemi Covid-19 dengan menggunakan pendekatan semantik, sintaksis dan teori konteks Halliday. Hasil dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua bentuk kategori kasus hoaks mengenai pandemi Covid-19 yang banyak beredar di sosial media, yakni kasus hoaks berjenis misinformasi dan kasus hoaks berjenis disinformasi. Hasil analisis karakteristik kebahasaan yang menjadi penanda kebohongan berupa 1) penggunaan kosa-kata atau diksi 2) bentuk kalimat pada teks kasus hoaks 3) analisis konteks berisi fakta serta tujuan pelaku.KATA KUNCI: Covid-19; hoaks; linguistik forensik. THE CASE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC HOAX: AN OVERVIEW OF FORENSIC LINGUISTICS ABSTRACT: This research focused on forensic Linguistic Review which discussed about hoax case of Covid-19 pandemic circulated in social media. The purpose of this research is to describe the category of Covid-19 hoaxes and to analyze the linguistics’ characteristic of language wickedness’ case which is hoax case of Covid-19 pandemic. The date in this research was gained by the official website of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics. The techniques of data collection were documentation technique, reading technique, and notepad technique. The process of data analysis to describe the category of Covid-19 hoaxes were data identification based on theoretical comprehension of hoax cases and legislation-based-law comprehension. Meanwhile, in processes of linguistics’ characteristic analysis on the hoax case of Covid-19 pandemic were semantics approach, syntax and Halliday context theory. The result of this research found that there are two categories on hoax case of Covid-19 pandemic which were circulating in social media, namely hoax cases caused by misinformation and hoax cases caused by disinformation. The linguistics’ characteristic that became the sign of lies are 1) the using of vocabulary and diction; 2) the sentence structure in the hoax case text; 3) the context analysis which includes the fact and the goals of the perpetrators.KEYWORDS: Covid-19; forensic linguistics, hoax.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the use of Indonesian standard in headline news in newspaper discourse relate to the diction/vocabulary; writing; sentence structure; and use of vernacular languages, and foreign terms. This research focuses on the use of Indonesian standard in the headline newspaper of Harian Fajar newspaper. This research is a qualitative method of content analysis. The source data are from daily Harian Fajar Tajuk Newspaper. The result showed that the diction or vocabulary in the discourse of headline news used language hyperbole, oxymoron, and personification. The writing word such as acronyms, technical terms. The majority of the style of language used by the writer is hyperbole. The writer used many acronyms. The technical terms are dominated by English vocabulary. The writing is not appropriate, namely: the writing of the word, the error in the writing of letters, capital letters, the compound word, and preposition di. Particle that often arise in the writing errors is pun. These of punctuation is not appropriate, namely the use of comma, in the details of words and the use of hyphen in the decoding in the words. The sentence structure in the form of the head line news of Harian Fajar is to be a symbol (+), proverbs, advice, and imperative sentence. The ambiguous sentence, conjunction occur due to improving is not appropriate, ie: untuk kemudian, padahal agar, mesti, sehingga, jadi, karena, disebabkan oleh, dan bahwa. Many sentences found in the data are ineffective. One of the reasons is became of a combination of the two ideas in a sentence. There is a tendency of the writer to write down his words affix me- writer the based words only and many sentences do not have clear subject.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to elaborate on the use of grammatical cohesion student assignment. The research method is content analysis. Data source is the text contained in the student assignment Indonesian Language and Literature Education. The data in the form of grammatical cohesion. Data analysed with the method content analysis. The results showed that: first, the pronouns. The use of pronouns we and they are often used in stringing sentences students conducted again. Second, the substitution. Substitution that occurs in the tasks students are generally limited to the replacement of the word or group of words with pronouns. Third, the elepsis. Elepsis in student assignments sometimes occur due to the removal of appropriate words must be present in the sentence. Fourth, conjunctions. Conjunctions are used in student writing right there and some are not appropriate. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengeksplorasi nilai-nilai karakter dalam fabel media daring di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data berasal dari web http://repositori.kemdikbud.go.id. kumpulan fabel Sulawesi Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik noninteraktif dengan melakukan pembacaan intensif pada fabel dan melakukan pencatatan secara aktif dengan metode analisis isi. Validitas data untuk menguji validitas penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi data dan triangulasi metode. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis interaktif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengikuti model Miles dan Huberman (1994), yaitu: (1) melakukan identifikasi fable sebagai objek penelitian, (2) melakukan reduksi data, (3) menyajikan data, (4) menginterpretasikan data yang diperoleh sesuai teori, dan (5) menyusun simpulan. Pendidikan karakter yang ditemukan ada empat belas yaitu: peduli, hormat, kerja sama, penolong, demokrasi, berbakti, rendah hati, kreatif, pemaaf, pemberani, disiplin, kerja keras, jujur, dan religius. Pendidikan karakter dalam fabel dapat diterapkan pada pembentukan karakter anak usia dini dengan pengasuhan anak usia dini (sejak bayi) dan pendidikan dini anak-anak dengan cara yang sejalan dengan orientasi perspektif anak, yaitu:1.Melihat anak itu sebagai pribadi; 2.Keikutsertaan yang empati dengan anak; 3.Sikap interpretatif menghormati anak ungkapan-ungkapan dan arti kehidupan dunia; 4.Membimbing anak dengan cara yang sensitif 5.Perawatan dini dan pendidikan adalah proses dialogis antara anak dan pengasuh/guru

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze adverbial anaphora resistance in students’ descriptive texts at the Department of Indonesian Language Education and Literature, Faculty of Languages and Literature, Universitas Negeri Makassar. The problem “How is adverbial anaphora (resistance) was presented in the descriptive texts written by the students? A descriptive qualitative content analysis was employed in the research. Data collection was performed through documentation of the five-semester students’ descriptive texts. The results show that adverbial anaphora resistance in the students’ descriptive texts consists of: (1) anaphora within adverbs of place (ini “this” and di sana “there” that occupy a different position); (2) anaphora within adverbs of time (tahun “year”, pagi hari “in the morning”, and malam hari “at night”); (2) anaphora within adverbs of purpose (bagi “for” and untuk “to”); (4) anaphora within adverbs of comparison (seperti “like”); (5) anaphora within adverbs of cause (sebab “cause” and karena “because”). Adverbial anaphora is highly associated with the placement of words, the relationship between words and phrases, or interrelationship among sentences. The limited number of adverbial anaphora produced by the students originates from the students’ lack of competence in writing a text.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan, yaitu: (1) mendeskripsikan tanggapan mahasiswa dalam cerita pendek “Apakah Rumah Kita Akan Tenggelam” melalui tema dan penokohan; (2) mendeskripsikan tanggapan mahasiswa mengenai fenomena lingkungan dalam cerpen. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian, yakni tanggapan mahasiswa. Sumber data penelitian, yakni: (1) angket; (2) teks cerita pendek diunduh secara daring melalui web lakonhidup.com. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori resepsi sastra dan teori ekokritik. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 247 mahasiswa. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 80 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian, yakni angket dan cerpen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik angket, baca, dan catat. Teknik penarikan sampel, yakni teknik purposive sampling (pengambilan data secara acak). Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) tema dan penokohan. Dalam tanggapan mahasiswa ditemukan tema banjir, tema bencana alam, dan tema variatif; selanjutnya (2) fenomena lingkungan yang ditemukan dalam tanggapan mahasiswa, yakni fenomena bencana alam dan binatang. This study aimed, namely: (1) to describe students' responses in the short story "Is Our House Will Drown" through themes and characterizations; (2) describe student responses about environmental phenomena in short stories. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Research data, namely student responses. The sources of research data, namely: (1) questionnaire; (2) short story texts can be downloaded boldly through the web lakonhidup.com. The theory used in this research was the theory of literary reception and ecocritic theory. The population investigated was from 247 students. The research sample was 80 students. Research instruments, namely questionnaires and short stories. Data collection was carried out through questionnaire techniques, reading, and taking notes. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique (random data collection). The results of the research were as follows: (1) themes and characterizations. The students' responses found themes of natural disasters and varied themes; then (2) environmental phenomena found in student responses, namely natural disasters and animals.

Abstract

Abstract: Slang language and the learning of  Indonesian. This study aimed to describe slang language and its influence on the Indonesian language. The data was collected through interviews, records, stimulating-writing,, and introspection. The source of the data was the conversation of the teenagers especially those who lived in Rawamangun eastern part of Jakarta. The results showed that the slang language produced by teenagers, were in the form of vocabularies of : acronyms, abbreviations, replacements of phonemes at the beginning of the second or third syllable, English terms, terms of reference, and flipping spoken word. The structure of the slang language were in the form of words that have formed in a simple, short, methatesis, and English term, words that have been formed in complex formation, and also words that have been formed in unclear way. While the  pattern of meaning of slang language is based on : figure of speech, irony, euphemisms, and methapores. Abstrak: Bahasa Prokem dan Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan men-deskripsikan bahasa prokem dan pengaruhnya terhadap bahasa Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, rekam, pancing, catat, dan instrospeksi. Hasil penelitian menun-jukkan percakapan remaja yang berdomisili di Kota Jakarta, khususnya remaja yang ada di Jakarta Timur, Rawamangun kosakata bahasa prokem berupa: akronim, singkatan, penggantian fonem pada awal suku kata kedua/ketiga, bahasa Inggris, istilah acuan, dan membalik kata. Struktur ba-hasa prokem  berupa kata yang menga-lami bentukan secara sederhana, singkatan, metatesis, isti-lah bahasa Inggris, kata yang mengalami bentukan kom-pleks, dan kata yang tidak jelas proses pembentukannya. Pola makna bahasa prokem berdasarkan majas: ironi, eufe-misme, dan metafora. Kata kunci: bahasa prokem, struktur, dan makna

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh tergerusnya budaya lokal. Mappitu sebagai proses mengundang tamu kehormatan tujuh hari sebelum acara pernikahan dilaksanakan sebagai salah satu rangkaian prosesi pernikahan pada suku Bugis. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis bentuk dan isi percakapan mappitu etnis Bugis. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data diambil dari dialog lisan  tuturan masyarakat Bugis di Kabupaten Wajo, Sulawesi Selatan. Data dikumpulkan  dengan  menggunakan metode observasi partisipan. Pengambilan data dengan teknik perekaman. Selanjutnya data dianalisis berdasarkan pendekatan etnografi komunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bentuk tuturan dalam  undangan mappitu berbentuk frosen. Pada undangan pihak yang mengundang saja yang menggunakan bahasa genre undangan  mappitu, frozen dengan menggunakan pakaian adat. Pihak yang diundang menggunakan percakapan sehari-hari. Genre mappitu adalah dialog  lisan. Undangan mappitu dalam penelitian ini mencapai hasil yang diharapkan karena tamu kehormatan yang diundang secara mappitu menghadiri pesta pernikahan. Mappitu memiliki unsur: Setting: bola arung ’rumah bangsawan’ partisipan tujuh orang berpakaian adat dan seorang tuan rumah, ends: mengudang, act: mappacci, akad nikah, dan maparola, key: formal, norma: sipakatau, dan genre: mappitu.
