Abstract

Quality is an absolute image that must be owned by every educational institution. In general, quality can be seen from the accreditation of educational institutions and academic services. Likewise, graduates are a reflection of the quality of educational institutions. One of the absolute factors to produce quality graduates is to support the development of teacher quality. This study aims to describe the policy model for developing the quality of MTs teachers in Central Tapanuli. The research approach is a qualitative type, with a descriptive study method. Data was collected using observation, interview, and document study techniques. Furthermore, data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation, and data verification (to draw conclusions). Test the validity of research data using data triangulation techniques. The results of this study conclude that teachers have an important role in the progress of madrasas, the quality of teachers can be seen from the model of teacher quality development policies implemented in madrasas. The leadership of MTsN 1 and MTsN 2 in Central Tapanuli Regency implemented policies in the form of teacher quality improvement models according to needs, teacher quality development policies according to government policies, and instilling teacher discipline. Teachers are required to have high academic qualifications, and meet (four) competency standards, namely pedagogic, personality, social, and professional competencies. The teacher quality development policy at MTsN 1 and MTsN 2 Tapanuli Tengah has been implemented well, this can be seen from the ability of the madrasa principal to regulate all madrasa policies and programs so that the quality of education in Central Tapanuli can continue to improve.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of punishment and the implementation of extracurricular activities as an effort to discipline and shape the character of students at MTsN 2 Tapanuli Tengah. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytical study method. The process of data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and document studies. Furthermore, the researchers carried out data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, as the stages of data analysis. Finally, the validity of the research data is recognized after going through data triangulation (methods and sources). The results of this study indicate that punishment at MTsN 2 Tapanuli Tengah, is actively carried out to create student discipline. The punishment is given in accordance with the violation of the rules carried out and the light punishment applied in the madrasa in the form of cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the madrasa yard, and doing assignments, while the severe punishment is that students are given a warning letter calling their parents to create student discipline by not repeating the violation of school rules. the same one. In addition to giving punishments, MTsN 2 Tapanuli Tengah also provides extracurricular activities to instill character and student discipline, extracurricular activities include; Tahfidzul Quran, Scouts, Intra Madrasah Student Organization (OSIM), Science Olympiad, Pencak Silat, Drum Band, Futsal, Football, and Dance. Thus, students of MTsN 2 Tapanuli Tengah are expected to be competitive, both in the academic and non-academic fields globally, and can produce high-quality and dedicated achievements.

Abstract

Schools become very important to be established in various regions in Indonesia, on the other hand, the schools established must also be quality, the quality of a school is seen by its quality. Quality schools are schools that refer to the National Standard of Education which contains content standards, process standards, graduation competency standards, educator and education personnel standards, facilities and infrastructure standards, management standards, financing standards, and assessment standards. This research aims to determine the implementation of the National Education Standard to improve the quality of education in MTsN-2 Tapanuli Tengah. This research uses qualitative descriptive approach methods that aim to understand circumstances or phenomena using description in the form of words or language and describe real events encountered in the field. Data collection techniques from these studies use methods of observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used in this study through 3 activity flows, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study are the application of management functions, namely management functions in planning, implementation, and supervision and connecting with the implementation of the National Education Standard on planning, implementation of national education standards on the implementation, and implementation of national standards of education on supervision. According to researchers, MTsN-2 Tapanuli Tengah has implemented 8 National Standards of Education so the head of the madrasah hopes that the accreditation of MTsN-2 Tapanuli Tengah can increase from year to year.
