Abstract

The movements and abundance of tuna are strongly influenced by the temperature and water depth. Bungus-based fishermen catch bigeye tuna (BET, Thunnus obesus) and yellowfin tuna (YFT, Thunnus albacares) using handlines operated on light-equipped fishing boats. Purpose of the research : (1) to measure the sea surface temperature (SST) and swimming layer bigeye tuna (BET) and yellowfin tuna (YFT) around Mentawai Island, (2) to identification the effect of light on the vertical distribution, and (3) to determine length of hookline the best catch tuna. Based on the length of the line and configuration of line, weight, hooks and live-squid baits, their hooks were at 45, 53, 60, and 68 meters below sea surface. A total of 8 YFT were caught at 45, 53 and 60 m depths; their total weight was 354 kg. One BET of 45 kg was caught at 60 m depth. This study confirmes that these large-sized tunas were caught at a swimming layer of 15-60 m depth. The sea surface temperature (SST) in the fishing ground around Mentawai Island was 28.9 oC in average where fishermen successfuly caught a total of 15 tunas consisting of 3 BETs and 12 YFT. Adult tuna were caught mostly at 23-60 m depth while the juveniles were caught at 15-45 m. This research indicated an effect of light on increasing the position of adult tuna swimming layer. Handline with line of 53 m is the best gear for catching adult tuna in the area.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conductedinMai 2013inOceanFishingPort Bungus, Province West Sumatra. The aim of this study was to determine the construction and operation of the hand line, as well as the feasibility. The method used in this study is asurvey method. The results of the business analysis calculations indicate that the hand line gives benefit to fishermen and deserves to be developed due to the value of the benefit cost ratio is obtained at 2.0 while the financial rate of returnis 68,1% and payback period of capital is 17 month.Key words : construction and operation of the hand line

Abstract

As a means of transportation in the process of catching fish, ship must be owned by fishermen. The purpose of this study was to determine the durability of ship made of fiberglass material and to know when the ship run and stopped. This research was conducted for 4 months in a fishing laboratory assisted by 2 lecturers and 3 students. Students were involved in order to gain knowledge and experience in making boats made of fiberglass. With an experimental methods, data collection was done by direct observation of the design process, material testing, durability, and stability of the ship at sea. The results of this research were obtained in terms of making boats, in which it had a quite long stage starting from knowing the place where the boat was used, designing, making, and testing it in the manufacture. Thus, it is necessary to be careful during the work in order to get better results. Based on the endurance and leak tests, the boat had good resistance and did not leak, so it could be further developed.

Abstract

Sriminosari coastline is surrounded by mangroves and has high eco-tourism potential. Therefore,the local community initiatives to establish a Pandan Alas fishermen association to manage thefisheries and mangrove commodity. The commodity potential of the village is not only themangroves but also the presence of green mussel seeds which naturally found in the coastalwaters. This project intends to empower the Pandan Alas Fisherman Association in SriminosariVillage, the eastern region of Lampung, Indonesia. The local community is trained to culture thegreen mussels by introducing the rack culture system technology. This program carried outthrough a survey, focus group discussions (FGD), simulations, installation of rack culturetechnology, and evaluation. Green mussel cultivation has been run successfully in Sriminosari andhopefully to be a profitable and sustainable business.

Abstract

Wilayah pesisir dan laut sangat rentan terhadap berbagai ancaman pencemaran baik yang berasal dari aktivitas domestik manusia (marine debris), industri (pengolahan perikanan), perhubungan laut seperti tumpahan minyak (oil spill), maupun aktivitas lainnya. Pencemaran di lingkungan laut (pollution of the marine environment) yaitu dimasukkannya oleh manusia, secara langsung atau tidak langsung ke dalam lingkungan laut yang mengakibatkan dapat buruk sedemikian rupa seperti kerusakan pada keberlangsungan kehidupan laut sehingga berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia, gangguan terhadap kegiatan di laut termasuk penangkapan ikan (UNCLOS. 1982). Tujuan yang diharapkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan bagi para nelayan GAPOKAN tentang bahayanya ghost fishing. Ghost Fishing merupakan salah satu akibat dari jaring ikan yang dibuang atau hilang di perairan laut. Pemahaman tentang pencemaran laut yang mungkin dilakukan oleh nelayan dapat dipahami oleh kelompok nelayan GAPOKAN.  Salah satu kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan oleh nelayan di Bandar Lampung untuk mengurangi sampah yang dihasilkan oleh alat tangkap menggunakan adalah menggunakan kembali sebagai substrat budidaya kerang hijau.

Abstract

Sibolga fishing port is is a type B port located in the western Sumatran coastal, located in North Sumatra Province. The catch landed by fishermen at PPN Sibolga is included in economically important fish. Data on the types of economically important fish landed at PPN Sibolga have not been identified as a whole. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the total catch, production value, and fish resources that have high economic value landed at Sibolga fishing Port from 2017 to 2021.Primary data collection was obtained from observations and secondary data collected from catch data landed at Sibolga PPN from 2017 to 2021. Primary data collection was obtained from observations and secondary data collected from catch data landed at Sibolga Fishing Port from 2017 to 2021. The total catch landed at Sibolga PPN increased from 2017 to 2018 and decreased from 2018 to 2021. Types of fish that have important economic value in the period 2017 to 2021 include skipjack 57,84% with a value of Rp.1.025.925.917,016, Mackerel scad 21,38% with a value of Rp.379.229.298.642, Yellowfin tuna 12,33% with a value of Rp.218.612.925.700, Frigate tuna 6,56% with a value of Rp.116.292.175.417 and Bentong selar 1,90% with a value of Rp.33.674.972.000.

Abstract

Teluk Hurun telah menjadi daerah penangkapan ikan oleh nelayan di sekitar pesisir Lampung. Penangkapan ikan menggunakan purse seine biasanya memerlukan alat bantu pengumpul ikan, atau biasa disebut rumpon. Penggunaan rumpon dimaksudkan agar nelayan tidak melaut terlalu jauh untuk mencari daerah penangkapan ikan, sehingga efisiensi biaya operasional melaut dapat diminimalisir. Sejauh ini, rumpon ditenggelamkan beberapa waktu sebelum trip penangkapan berlangsung. Padahal, rumpon tradisional dengan atraktor daun kelapa membutuhkan waktu tunggu untuk dapat berfungsi secara efektif sebagai pengumpul ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memonitor secara berkala hingga didapatkan gambaran kondisi rumpon perminggunya dan memperkirakan usia rumpon dapat efektif digunakan sebagai alat bantu penangkapan ikan. Underwater survey dilakukan diakhir minggu, selama lima minggu berturut-turut yang meliputi pencatatan, perekaman dan pendokumentasian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rumpon memerlukan sekitar 4 – 5 minggu untuk dapat efektif sebagai pengumpul ikan. Ikan akan mendekati rumpon untuk mencari makanan di substrat yang menempel di dinding rumpon dan sebagai tempat berlindung

Abstract

PPP Lempasing merupakan prasarana perikanan tangkap yang menjadi sentra kegiatan penangkapan, pengelolaan, dan pemasaran hasil perikanan di kota Bandar Lampung. Mini purse seine merupakan salah satu alat tangkap yang dipergunakan nelayan Lempasing melakukan operasi penangkapan ikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji tentang faktor-faktor produksi yang berpengaruh terhadap hasil tangkapan mini purse seine di PPP Lempasing. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey dengan observasi langsung dan wawancara nelayan. Analisis regresi berganda dipergunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor produksi terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor produksi yang berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil tangkapan adalah ukuran GT kapal, daya mesin, jumlah jumlah awak kapal(ABK) dan panjang jaring. Sedangkan faktor produkksi yang berpengaruh negatif adalah pengalaman melaut dan lebar jaring dengan koefisien determinasi 97,9%.

Abstract

Kaki naga ikan merupakan produk pangan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai lauk pauk dan juga sebagai cemilan. Karakteristik khas kaki naga ikan adalah memiliki tekstur yang kering, renyah, dan pada lapisan luar berkerak namun lembut dan basah di bagian dalam produk, sebagaimana produk gorengan. Berbagai jenis ikan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk produk kaki naga, salah satunya adalah ikan cakalang. Tujuan yang diharapkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan bagi ibu-ibu nelayan GAPOKAN tentang pembuatan olahan ikan kaki naga, memberikan edukasi/kesadaran kepada masyarakat nelayan tentang manfaat konsumsi makanan olahan ikan sebagai pangan yang kaya gizi dan digemari terutama oleh anak-anak. Target pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah masyarakat pesisir kota Bandar Lampung. Masyarakat ibu-ibu nelayan pesisir yang terdiri dari nelayan, pembudidaya, pengolah dna pemnasar hasil perikanan merupakan masyarakat yang langung bersentuhan dengan laut. Produk-produk perikanan mengandung nilai gizi yang tinggi serta tergolong dalam pangan fungsional yang baik untuk kesehatan. para wanita istri nelayan harus mempunyai pengetahuan tentang bagaimana menangani dan mengolah ikan yang benar disaat hasil tangkapan melimpah, serta memahami pentingnya memberi makanan yang sehat bagi keluarga terutama anak-anak balita.

Abstract

The character of the coastline is one of the important things to know, this is related to beaches where processes occur due to the influence of coastal conditions in achieving balance with the impacts that occur from natural factors and human activities. Geographically, the beach in the Banten shipping polytechnic area faces the open sea. Abrasion and accreation are very likely to occur on the coastline in the Banten Polytechnic area, soil texture and sedimentation have a big influence on changes in the coastline. This research aims to determine the characteristics of the coastline in the Banten Polytechnic area. The research method uses a descriptive method by tracking along the coastline and taking sediment samples using the methodpurposive sampling. Sampling was carried out in August 2023 with 3 observation stations and each station consisted of 4 observation points. Sample analysis uses the Granulometry method. The results of research on the character of the coastline in the Banten Shipping Polytechnic area show that there are thick piles of rubbish consisting of vegetation and the coastline is experiencing abrasion. The type of coastline sediment in the Banten Polytechnic area has an intermediate sand fraction (4.8%-80.8%) located at soil points A2 and C1, intermediate clay (2.4%-64%) located at soil points B4 and C3, and intermediate dust (15.2%-80.8%) is located at Soil points C1, C2, C3 and A2 with an average texture class having a clay fraction.
