Abstract

Dyscalculia is a learning disability. It affects the arithmetic ability of student, and usually can’t be separated from mathematical learning difficulty. It is usually occurred in early stage of learning, and unless an intervention (traditional or digital) is given, the disability will persist until adulthood. This paper will present an overview of current condition of dyscalculia in Indonesia. Researches in traditional and digital intervention and the role of computer-assisted instruction are also discussed.

Abstract

In 2016, we have started to develop a collaborative system for Friday prayer scheduling. The system was intended to cope with some problems that corresponded with the high probability collision occurrences while compiling a timetable. In order to measure the effectiveness of the system implementation, we undertook a survey that started from late 2017 to September 2019. We observed the implementation of the system throughout the years and investigated the impact of its implementation. The objective of this research is to determine whether the system can diminish the collision rates and foster a user-friendly experience both for MTM and client users in managing, requesting, compiling, viewing and organizing the schedules. The pre and post- questionnaires clearly indicated that the system managed to diminish or almost deal with all the problems that regularly occurred during timetable compilation. In regard to usability, users found that the system was useful and easy to use as the system gained the highest possible score for overall satisfaction.

Abstract

The right decision in national economy sector can only be obtained with excellent national economic data quality. Unfortunately, the collection process of true, accurate and complete national data is still expensive and time-consuming. Therefore, this study offers crowdsourcing as an alternative method towards the collection process of national data with low cost and dynamic. With case study basic commodity prices data collection nationwide, this method proved to empower the public as the owner of the data on self-reported commodities price in their region through an Android application, available for free on Google Play Store. This study was conducted for a year starting from January 2 to December 31, 2015. At the end of the study period, there were 7,442 people who have participated actively with an even distribution in all provinces in Indonesia. The amount of new user is 34 people per day with data entry is more than 400 data per day, and continues to increase.

Abstract

Kondisi sumber daya manusia Indonesia di bidang Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi, khususnya pengembangan perangkat lunak dan pemrograman cukup mengkhawatirkan. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah tidak seimbangnya permintaan dari industri dengan lulusan yang disediakan oleh perguruan tinggi. Oleh sebab itu, perguruan tinggi perlu meningkatkan proses belajar dengan menggunakan teknologi yang telah umum digunakan oleh industri, yaitu version control system (VCS). Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap 89 mahasiswa Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak Aplikasi, Universitas Telkom, didapat hasil bahwa penggunaan VCS terbukti memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap proses belajar pemrograman mahasiswa dalam pengembangan sebuah perangkat lunak, diantaranya kemudahan berkolaborasi dalam tim, meningkatnya motivasi coding mahasiswa dan proses penilaian yang menjadi lebih transparan karena kontribusi yang terukur.
