Abstract

The development of communication technology in Indonesia is currently growing, one of which is cellular telecommunications technology. Cellular communication technology developed from the first generation to the present time has entered the 4th generation known as 4G LTE. The writing of this final project discusses the analysis and optimization of the 4G LTE network of Telkomsel seluer operators in Jombang, East Java. Measurements were made using the drive test method to test the 4G LTE network in the inner area of Jombang district. This testing is done to check the network in the inner area whether it is optimal in providing network to customers. This drive test uses a nemo handy device and to analyze drive test results using a nemo analyzer. The results measured when doing a drive test are RSRP, SNR, and throughput parameters. The results of the RSRP parameter get 95% of the total sample RSRP values -100 dBm to 0 dBm. The SNR parameter gets 94% of the total sample which has a value of 0 dB to 25 dB. The throughput parameter gets 95% of the total sample value above 1Mbps. After a drive test and analysis there are 4 areas that need to be optimized because in terms of quality or SNR and the data speed or throughput is below the standards applied by the operator.

Abstract

Electrical distribution system is a component of electrical power system that is very important because it is closest to the customer. In its operation, the distribution system often suffers that causes the flow of electricity to the customer is interrupted. This situation is not expected by customers or by electric power companies. The more frequent and longer the occurrence of electrical power flow interruption, the lower the system reliability, and vice versa. Reliability of a distribution system can be analyzed based on SAIDI and SAIFI parameters. In this research, reliability analysis of distribution system on Gejayan substation. The analysis result using SAIDI and SAIFI parameters shows that Gejayan substation is reliable enough to national standard, while based on international standard still not reliable.

Abstract

This paper discusses the analysis of the performance of an induction motor using the motor current signature analysis (MCSA) technique. Induction motor is a type of electric machine that is widely used in industry. One of the industries that utilize induction motors is a steam power plant (SPP). The role of induction motors is very vital in SPP operations. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the performance, stability, and efficiency to anticipate disturbances that can cause damage or decrease the life of the induction motor. MCSA is a reliable technique that can be used to analyze damage to an induction motor. In this technique, the induction motor current signal is detected using a current transducer. The signal is then passed on to the signal conditioning and then into the data acquisition device. The important signal data is analyzed in adequate computer equipment. The results of this analysis determine the condition of the induction motor, whether it is normal or damaged. In this research, a case study was carried out at the Rembang steam power plant, Central Java, Indonesia. The results of the analysis of several induction motors show that most of them are in normal conditions and are still feasible to operate.

Abstract

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, as an educational institution, indeed uses the building as a supporting facility for all activities carried out. In each of the reviews, these activities, of course, use of electrical energy, but not infrequently the electrical energy used exceeds the limits of the reasonableness of the resulting use in financial swelling. An energy audit is an activity carried out periodically to determine the amount of energy consumption, irregularities in the system, and load imbalances that cause power losses in a building. These parameters can be obtained by measuring on the SDP panel using a power quality analyzer with IEEE 59-1992 as a obtained reference to the results of the average voltage fluctuations are still within the safe limits determined by PLN items, i.e., from 198 to 231 volts. THDv is still within the safe limit under 5%, as well as for the THDi is also still within the safe limit of tolerance of 15%. As a result of harmonic disturbances and load imbalances in the building G5 in 2018, the caused losses of power losses that need to be borne by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in the amount of Rp 9,210,133.09.

Abstract

In a developing country, the rate of electricity demand is increasing along with the increasing rate of population growth and the rate of economic development of the country. With the growing development of the use of electronic technology in power systems, more and more non-linear equipment is used in the industry. This non-linear equipment can affect power quality because this non-linear load is the primary source of harmonic interference. To minimize the impact of the harmonic generation that occurs on non-linear loads such as induction motors, harmonic filter equipment is needed. This study also compared the current and voltage THD levels based on the IEEE standard and performed calculations to design a single tuned passive filter. This calculation is done because of the emergence of harmonics on a 3-phase induction motor that has exceeded the standard limit, so it must reduce the harmonics. Moreover, disturbances that occur, such as torsion vibrations caused by the interaction of the fundamental harmonic magnetic field, causing higher noise. Furthermore, it leads to additional thermal stress on electric motors, which have an impact on reducing the life of motor insulation. Based on the comparison and analysis obtained that the measured current THD still exceeds the IEEE standard limits. Then the interference that arises in the 3-phase RAW MILL induction motor will have an adverse impact if not handled correctly and adequately.
