Abstract

Growth media composition needs to be considered because it can affect the growth and development of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). Wood factory waste in the form of sawdust is commonly used as oyster mushroom’s growth media. However, problem arises when the source of growing media is difficult to access from the cultivation location. There’s a need for an alternative mushroom growing media that is cheap and accessible. Some of them are rice bran, soybean husk, and bagasse which are agricultural wastes. Therefore, this study aimed to obtain the best media composition for oyster mushroom’s growth and production. This study was compiled using one factor completely randomized design (CRD) namely, (M1) 1 kg of sengon sawdust and 1 ounce rice bran; (M2) 1 kg of sengon sawdust and 1 ounce soybean husk; (M3) 1 kg of sengon sawdust and 1 ounce bagasse; (M4) 1 kg of sengon sawdust, ounce rice bran and ounce soybean husk; (M5) 1 kg of sengon sawdust, ounce rice bran and ounce bagasse; and (M6) 1 kg of sengon sawdust, ounce rice bran, ounce soybean husk and ounce bagasse. Result showed that M2 and M4 media composition with soybean husk as one of the constituents was able to increase mushroom’s stem diameter, number of mushroom caps, and the fresh weight of the mushroom. More than ounces of rice bran and soybean husk was more optimal for supporting oyster mushroom growth than < ounces dosage.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan mangga podang di Kelurahan Mojoroto Kota Kediri masih terbatas hanya untuk buah meja dan jus. Padahal mangga podang berpotensi dijadikan produk olahan yang memiliki nilai jual lebih tinggi seperti bolu kukus. Selain itu, bolu mangga juga dapat dijadikan oleh-oleh khas daerah. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan sosialisasi dan bimbingan teknis pemanfaatan mangga podang sebagai bahan baku bolu kukus. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan pendampingan serta tahap evaluasi. Sasaran dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakta ini adalah ibu PKK Kelurahan Mojoroto Kota Kediri. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa peserta bimbingan teknis antusias terhadap sosialisasi yang telah diberikan. Selan itu, peserta juga dibimbing untuk melakukan uji kesukaan terhadap produk bolu mangga podang yang telah diproduksi. Peserta bimbingan teknis juga mendapatkan nilai diatas 80 untuk hasil evaluasi yang menunjukkan bahwa proses transfer ilmu telah berhasil dilakukan. Peserta bimbingan teknis juga ada yang berkeinginan untuk mengembangkan pembuatan bolu mangga podang sebagai bisnis skala kecil.

Abstract

There are various types of herbal plants in Indonesia, such as ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, and others. Each herbal plant contains various bioactive compounds that have antioxidant activity. Antioxidants can function to increase immunity. The immunity of the residents of Kawedusan Village decreased during the transition period which was marked by many people experiencing symptoms of cough, runny nose, and fever. Due to this phenomenon, it is necessary to conduct training to manufacture immunity-enhancing drinks made from various herbal plants. Community service was carried out for two months starting from January to March 2022 in Sadon Hamlet, Kawedusan Village, Plosoklaten District, Kediri Regency. This community service employed three methods: the preparation stage, lectures, and field practice. The ingredients used in making an immunity-boosting drink include lemongrass, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, rock sugar, lime, and honey. Community service activities for the manufacture of an immunity-boosting drink were successful and valuable. The Kawedusan Village apparatus supports the activity and the participated residents were highly enthusiastic Tumbuhan herbal di Indonesia beragam jenisnya seperti jahe, kunyit, sereh, kapulaga, cengkeh, kayu manis, bunga lawang, dan sebagainya. Setiap tumbuhan herbal mengandung senyawa bioaktif beragam yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan. Antioksidan dapat berfungsi untuk meningkatkan imunitas. Imunitas warga Desa Kawedusan mengalami penurunan di masa pancaroba yang ditandai dengan banyaknya orang yang mengalami gejala batuk, pilek, dan demam. Adanya fenomena tersebut maka perlu dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan wedang penambah imunitas dari bermacam-macam tumbuhan herbal. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan selama 2 bulan mulai bulan Januari hingga Maret 2022 di Dusun Sadon Desa Kawedusan Kecamatan Plosoklaten Kabupaten Kediri. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan 3 metode yaitu tahap persiapan, ceramah, dan praktek lapang. Bahan yang digunakan dalam pembuatan wedang penambah imunitas antara lain batang sereh, kunyit, jahe, kayu manis, gula batu, jeruk nipis, dan madu. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat pembuatan wedang penambah imunitas berjalan dengan sukses bermanfaat. Perangkat Desa Kawedusan mendukung kegiatan ini dan antusiame warga sangat tinggi.

Abstract

Zea mays saccharata or sweet corn has become a leading horticultural commodity. It is not only limited to vegetables that are consumed normally but come with a variety of preparations. Therefore, there is a need for research on sweet corn productivity due to the interaction effect of herbicide spraying time treatment and plant spacing. In this study, sweet corn seed planting materials of TALENTA variety and selective herbicide PAG (Anti-Weed Package) were used with the active ingredients of Atras 600 sc and Aleron 60 sc. The research was carried out using the RAK environmental design (Randomized Block Design) with 3 replications and 2 treatment factors, namely 3 levels of spacing and herbicide spraying time which also consisted of three levels. Observations using destructive and non-destructive methods. By observing the variables of plant height, the number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf width, length of ear, the weight of ear, and diameter of the ear. The data obtained from the observational variables were processed by the F test using the ANOVA method. If there are treatments that are significantly different, a 5% Least Significant Difference test will be carried out. Planting distance J2: 70 x 30 cm and spraying herbicide PAG at P2:14 DAP was the best spacing and spraying time for sweet corn cultivation. Optimal spacing and proper spraying time can reduce the level of competition between cultivated plants and cultivated plants with weeds.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the dose of liquid organic fertilizer in rabbit urine on the growth and yield of three varieties of red spinach. This research was conducted in Watulimo Village, Watulimo District, Trenggalek Regency at an altitude of 154 meters above sea level from August 23 to October 15, 2021. The study used a two-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which was repeated 3 times, namely: First factor: Dosage of rabbit urine (U) which consisted of 3 treatments, repeated 3 times, namely: U0 = Without fertilizer U1 = dose of rabbit urine 60 ml/plant U2 = dose of rabbit urine 120 ml/plant, Second factor: Red spinach variety (V) which consisted of 3 treatments repeated 3 times, namely: V1 = Mira variety, V2 = Clara variety, V3 = Variety BA-285. From the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that there was a very significant interaction between doses of rabbit urine and red spinach varieties on plant height at age 14; 21; 28; and 35 days after planting, wet weight per plant and dry weight per plant at harvest time for the best results from the combination of U2V3 treatments. The treatment dose of rabbit urine was significantly different to plant height at 7 DAP, the number of leaves at observation age at 7 DAP, 14 DAP, 21 DAP, 28 DAP, 35 DAP the largest yield was U2, (rabbit urine dose 120 ml/plant). The treatment of varieties of red spinach was significantly different to plant height at 7 DAP, the number of leaves at the observation age at 7 DAP, 14 DAP, 21 DAP, 28 DAP, 35 DAP, and the largest yield was V2, (red spinach variety BA285).
