Abstract

Limestone is a sedimentary rock formed naturally from the died marine organisms. Limestone is used in various industrial fields, such as paint, plastics, carpets and soil pH regulator industries. PT. Sugih Alamanugroho is a limestone mining and calcium carbonate powder producer company. To produce calcium carbonate powder, limestone is dried, comminuted, and classified by size. The drying process reduces moisture content less than 4%. Then, the limestone is crushed by a jaw crusher and followed by secondary crushing by means of a hammer mill. The results of the secondary grind are crushed again using a modified grinding machine. Calcium carbonate powder will pass through an 800-mesh screen into the cyclone collector using a blower. In the cyclone collector, 800-mesh powder falls into the bottom of the cyclone, while 1200-mesh powder comes out of the cyclone and enters the cloth bags. The position of the feed on the side of the modified grinding machine is able to reduce collisions with the product. From the entire production steps, calcium carbonate powder products were produced, but did not meet the production amount target due to obstacles that occurred in the form of power outages, replacement of spare parts or equipment maintenance, machine breakdowns and late availability of spare parts.

Abstract

The development of a quality product to get good results requires a technology, one of which is the use of 3D printing machines. One type of material that is most often used in the 3D Printer process is Polylactic acid (PLA). The results of the 3D Print must be carried out several tests, such as tensile, shrinkage, and flexural tests to find out how strong the specimen is to withstand the load that will be given. One of the factors that affect the tensile, shrinkage and flexural test results of the 3D Printer is the type of filler (pattern). Therefore, in this study, 3 types of tests will be carried out on variations in the infill type, namely triangle, concentric and gyroid. Specimen design was made using Autodesk Inventor software with reference to the standard dimensions of ASTM D638 Type IV for tensile testing of specimens and standard dimensions of ASTM D790 for flexural tests of specimens. Samples are characterized by using specimen code A, specimen B and specimen C. For example, specimen code A is the code for specimens with an infill gyroid, specimen B is a code for specimens with a concentric infill type and specimen code C is a code for specimens with an infill. triangle type. Results Based on the shrinkage measurements on the tensile test specimen and the flexural test specimen, it was found that specimen C had a fairly large shrinkage value compared to other specimens, namely 2.210.97% and 20.21%. The results of the tensile test also showed that specimen C had a higher ultimate tensile strength than the other specimens, which was 39.230.93 MPa. Based on the results of the flexural test that has been carried out, it can be seen that the highest flexural strength value is found in specimen C, which is 48.693.17 MPa. While the results of the porosity of the specimen showed that specimen C had a smaller porosity than the porosity of other specimens. Based on the 3 types of specimen variations, it can be said that specimen C has better strength and resistance values than other specimens.

Abstract

Abstract

Water, serving as a vital resource, finds applications in diverse sectors such as agriculture (irrigation), drinking watersupply, flood control, and hydroelectric power generation. On a smaller scale, the construction of "Embung" or smallartificial reservoirs facilitates water storage during the rainy season for subsequent use in the dry season. Within thestudy area, a reservoir constructed in 2018 has never attained full capacity, a circumstance that piqued the author'sinterest. A combined approach utilizing aerial photogrammetry and ground observation is employed for comprehensiveanalysis. Aerial photogrammetry yields an extensive and accurately depicted geometric representation of geologicalstructures. The investigation focuses on the Semilir Formation, a volcanic formation. Findings reveal that the studyarea manifests a division into nine (9) segments discerned from distinct structural trends. These segments are delineatedby eight (8) faults, with the major fault identified as Fault F6. Fault F6 exhibits a prevailing NNE-SSW trend, consistent with the primary fault on the regional geological map. Notably, Fault F6 encompasses a substantial faultzone traversing the Baturagung Reservoir and stands accountable for the reservoir's leakage.
