Abstract

Degradation of rice field ecosystem by industrial waste contamination caused harmful impact for farming sustainability and crop production production. This study aimed to investigate the effect of various UZAAKH fertilizer dosage and its effect towards cation exchange capacity (CEC), pH, and Cr solubility reduction in contaminated rice fields from industrial waste. The experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of Agriculture Faculty Universitas Padjadjaran from April to September 2017. Randomized block design with six single treatments: A = UZAAKH 150 kg ha-1, B = UZAAKH 250 kg ha-1, C = UZAAKH 250 kg ha-1, D = UZAAKH 300 kg ha-1, E = UZAAKH 350 kg ha-1, dan F = Urea 200 kg ha-1, each treatment was replicated four times.  The result showed that the application UZAAKH fertilizer has significant effect on CEC, pH, and Cr solubility on the soil. The dosage of 200 kg ha-1 UZAAKH fertilizer showed the highest CEC 60 day after application. UZAAKH fertilizer with 350 kg ha-1 dosage was the best dosage to increase soil pH and decrease Cr solubility application compared with other UZAAKH fertilizer dosage with the decrease of 69,05 % from initial concentration. Keywords: UZAAKH fertilizer, contaminated rice fields, heavy metal, Cr

Abstract

Red curly chili production in Indonesia is currently falling short of expectations. The objective of this research was to evaluate the affectivity of bio fertilizer and compost combination in increasing growth and yield two varieties of red curly chili in Rancamaya, Bogor. Split plot design was used as an experimental design with different variety of red curly chili (OR Twist = V1 and Kencana = V2) as main plot and fertilizer (A = Control without chemical fertilizers + Compost + POH, B = 50% Chemical Fertilizer + Compost + POH, C = 75% Chemical Fertilizer + Compost + POH, D = 100% Chemical Fertilizer + Compost + POH, E = 100% Chemical Fertilizer + manure, F = 100% Chemical Fertilizer) combination as sub plot. The collected data was analysed by using ANOVA with 5% of significancy, a further test is performed using duncan mutiple range test. OR Twist variety showed the highest growth performance on plant height with 26.4 cm (21 DAP), 56.3 cm (35 DAP), and 82.8 cm (DAP) and leave number by 86.8 and 285 leaves at 35 and 39 DAP. The highest cumulative yield of red curly chili was resulted by OR Twist variety from 1st until 5th harvesting period. OR Twist variety and 50% chemical fertilizer treatment with the addition of compost and POH was the best combination in increasing average fruit weight and cumulative of red curly chili at Rancamaya, Bogor.

Abstract

Agricultural land that has low nutrient status can inhibit plant growth, so it is necessary to add nutrients to the soil without causing enviromental damage.  The research was aimed to observed growth response of kangkong on combination NPK and level doses of POC fishery wasted on Inceptisol soil. The research was aimed to observed growth response of kangkong on combination NPK and level doses of POC fishery wasted on Inceptisol soil. This research used a split plot design, the main plot consists of: V0 (without used NPK) and V1 (used NPK).Data analysis using variance with the DSAASTAT application. If the variance shows a significant effect, then it is continued with Duncan’s multiple range test (UJBD) at the 95% level of confidence. The results showed  application of POC based on fishery wasted added with NPK can provide a good responses to the heigh of the kangkong plant, the number of kangkong leaves, the fresh weight of kangkong roots and leaves, the dry weight of kangkong roots and leaves and the increase in the number of AMF spores in the rhizosphere of kangkong plants. The best responsed influence of the growth of kangkong plants was combination of NPK and 75% POC doses based on fishery wasted. Utilization of processed fishery wasted as POC can be alternative as an enviromentally friendly organic fertilizer in increasing the yield of kangkong plants.

Abstract

The decline in chili commodity production is influenced by various factors, including climate anomalies, less than optimal cultivation techniques, decreasing land quality, and pest attacks. Kabandungan District, as one of the chili production centers, can be used as a reference for studying the presence and intensity of chili pest attacks in general. Information about pest attacks can be used as a basis for control that can be applied in any location with similar characteristics. This research was conducted in Kabandungan District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. This research was carried out from November 2021 to March 2022. The number of chili plants observed was 930 plants which were divided into 61 observation points spread across 6 villages, including Cianaga, Cihamerang, Cipeuteuy, Kabandungan, Mekarjaya, and Tugubandung Villages. The chili plants observed consisted of the local variety of cayenne pepper (CMR), cayenne red chili (CMR), curly red chili (CMK) variety TM 999, Darmais F1 large red chili (CMB), curly red chili (CMK), and chili curly red (CMK) OR Twist 42. The results of the study stated that the incidence of pest attacks was dominated by S. Litura attacks 26.40%, and Colletotrichum capsici 25.60% in the vegetative phase, as well as S. Litura 27.21%, and Gemini Virus 47.35% in the generative phase. S. litura attacks are reported to dominate all villages in Kabandungan District, while Mekarjaya Village is dominated by mites.
