Abstract

This research is an experimental research which aim to know whether the active learning strategy index card match is more effective than expository learning strategy used learning mathematic for students in class VII State Islamic Junior High School at Pitumpanua, Wajo Regency. The design of the research used Posttest Control Group Design. In this research therean experimental group namely VIID class with 32 students which was taught using ICM active learning strategies and one groupcontrolnamely VIIE class with the same number students taught by expository learning strategy. Technique collection data used result of the learning tests, observation sheets for student activity, and questionnaire sheets for the student respond. Data analyzed used description statistic analyzed and statistic inferential analyzed. According to description statistic analyzed obtained:1) In the experimental group, the result of the mathematics learningobtained average of 74,16 with the deviation standard of 12.972 in the high criteria, while in the group control the average learning result of student amount 66,12 with the deviation standard 12,973 in the medium criteria. 2) Learning activities of students in the experimental group showed a positive attitude with a percentage of 58.04% and 51.45% in the control group. 3) The Student responses in the experimental learning group showed a positive response with percentage of 89.87% while in the control group 63.73%. Statistic inferential analyzed shows t count> t table (2.476> 1.67) with a significance of 5%, So we can conclude that the hypothesis is accepted it mean that learning mathematics in grade VII students of State Islamic Junior High School at Pitumpanua country of Wajo Regency through ICM active learning strategies is more effective than expository learning strategies

Abstract

The Tarakan City Consumer Price Index (CPI) shows trend patterns. This research is applied research with the aim of determining the best parameters and forecast results of Tarakan City CPI from January to May 2019 with the Double Exponential Smoothing method from Brown. The results of the Tarakan City CPI forecasting with the best parameters  0,5 with MAPE value = 0,670 from January to May 2019, respectively are 147,652; 148,481; 149,309; 150,138  and  150,966. These results indicate that the forecast of CPI in Tarakan City has increased every month. The higher the CPI value, the faster the inflation rate will have an impact on the rising prices of goods and services. By knowing CPI forecasting that continues to increase, the purchase of inventory of goods and services can be accelerated in order to avoid purchasing higher inventory.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TB) merupakan penyakit menular yang menyerang paru-paru. Dalam program penanggulangan TB, sangat perlu diperhatikan jumlah pasien dengan hasil pengobatan lengkap, meninggal, gagal, default dan pindah. Pada artikel ini, dibangun sebuah model matematika yang menggambarkan tingkat penyebaran infeksi penyakit TB dengan menggunakan metode Dekomposisi Adomian. Kemudian melakukan simulasi terhadap model penyebaran penyakit tersebut. Tahapan metode penelitian meliputi membangun model epidemi SEIR untuk penyebaran penyakit TB; mencari solusi untuk penyebaran penyakit TB dengan menggunakan metode Dekomposisi Adomian; melakukan simulasi berbantuan perangkat lunak; menganalisis hasil simulasi; serta menyimpulkan perilaku model yang dianalisis tersebut. Dari hasil simulasi, ditemukan bahwa model ini cukup baik untuk menggambarkan penyebaran penyakit TB dengan menggunakan parameter yang bersesuaian.

Abstract

The research is experiment. The research design is One-Group Pretest Posttest Design. The research employed two experiment classes, namely class VII.1 consist of 29 students and class VII.2 consist of 33 students chosen by using simple random sampling technique. Both classes were given the same treatment, namely experience, language, pictorial, symbol, and application in Mathematics learning based on Bruner’s theory. Data collecting techniques were learning result test, observation sheet, and questionnaire sheet. Data analysis employed descriptive statistic, inferential statistic, and effectiveness analysis. The results of the research indicate that: 1) Mathematics learning result of  class VII students at SMPN 29 in Makassar after the implementation of experience, language, pictorial, symbol, and application in Mathematics learning based on Bruner’s theory is in high category, the improvement of Mathematics learning result (gain score) of class VII students at SMPN 29 in Makassar is significant and in high category. Mathematics learning result of class VII students at SMPN 29 in Makassar after the implementation of experience, language, pictorial, symbol, and application in Mathematics learning based on Bruner’s theory has not reached classical completeness; 2) the students activity with the implementation of experience, language, pictorial, symbol, and application in Mathematics learning based on Bruner’s theory is in active category; and 3) the students response toward the implementation of experience, language, pictorial, symbol, and application in Mathematics learning based on Bruner’s theory tended to be in positive category. Learning effectiveness score reveals that the implementation of experience, language, pictorial, symbol, and application is fairly effective in Mathematics learning based on Bruner’s theory to class VII students at SMPN 29 in Makassar

Abstract

The low level of public awareness of environmental cleanliness has led to the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that cause dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) using the Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detection (CHAID) method. This type of research is applied research, namely research conducted to apply, test, and evaluate the ability of a theory that is applied in solving practical problems. This research was conducted at the University of Kaltara by taking quantitative data on dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) patients recorded at the Bulungan District Health Office. The analytical method used is the Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detection (CHAID) tree-structured classification method with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program. Based on the study results, it was found that five factors caused the occurrence of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Bulungan Regency. They are Gender, Age, Work Status, Environment, and Household Income. Based on the CHAID analysis using the IBM SPSS Statistics computer program, a decision tree is formed, which consists of 5 nodes consisting of 1 main node (node 0), one decision node (node 1), and 3 terminal nodes (node 2, 3 and 4). The predictor variables that affect the formation of the decision tree are Age and Household Income. DHF patients can be classified into three different segments from the segmentation decision tree with an estimated risk of 0.273, which means the risk of the wrong classification for DHF status is 27.3%.

Abstract

Biomass is one of the solutions for Indonesia to obtain energy because Indonesia has the potential for biomass like biodiesel and bioethanol. The biomass to be studied is Bioethanol. One of the main ingredients in the manufacture of bioethanol is forest bananas, where this type of banana is very easy to find in rural areas around the district of Bulungan. Forest bananas are a type of wild plant that grows in the forest and it’s not consumed by residents because there are many seeds in the banana. Therefore, forest banana waste is increasing due to the lack of utilization of the waste. Based on these problems, it is necessary to conduct research that aims to test the characteristics of bioethanol from forest bananas to the variation of yeast mass. The stages of the research method that will be done include several stages, namely 1) the manufacture of bioethanol, 2) the stage of measuring ethanol levels, and 3) the stage of testing the characteristics of bioethanol. The stages of bioethanol testing are characteristic tests, including: 1) Ethanol Content Analysis, 2) Water Content Analysis, 3) Density Analysis, 4) Specific Gravity and API Gravity Analysis, 5) Heat Value Analysis. Based on the research results obtained, the quality of bioethanol produced has the value of density and specific gravity in accordance with the quality standard of bioethanol which is 0.78 in yeast 3% of raw materials. The caloric value that has a close relationship with API Gravity is close to the maximum value of the bioethanol quality standard which is 3702.30 kcal/kg in yeast of 5%. The value of the largest ethanol content was obtained at the total yeast content of 5% which is 24.8%. The lowest water content value is obtained at the total yeast content of 3% which is 75%.

Abstract

The high increase in energy use causes renewable energy solutions such as wind energy, geothermal energy, biomass and others. Biomass is one solution for Indonesia to obtain energy, because Indonesia has the potential for biomass, both biodiesel and bioethanol. The biomass to be studied is Bioethanol. The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of bioethanol from forest bananas. The stages of the research method that will be carried out include several stages, namely 1) making bioethanol, 2) measuring ethanol content, and 3) testing the characteristics of bioethanol. The stages of bioethanol testing carried out characteristic tests including: 1) Ethanol Content Analysis, 2) Moisture Content Analysis, 3) Density Analysis, 4) Specific Gravity and API Gravity Analysis, 5) Calorific Value Analysis. Based on the research results obtained, the quality of the bioethanol produced has a density value and specific gravity in accordance with the bioethanol quality standard, which is 0.46. The calorific value which has a close relationship with API Gravity is close to the maximum value in the bioethanol quality standard, which is 3702.30 kcal/kg. The value of ethanol content and water content still does not meet the quality standards, namely 24.8% and 86%. This is due to the lack of distillation process in this study.

Abstract

Determinants are a function of the set of square matrices to the set of real numbers. The determinant of the matrix A denote | A | or det (A). In this discussion method used to solve the determinant of a matrix is the Chio Condensation method. The Chio Condensation Method is one method that can be used to evaluating the determinant of the order matrix n ݊× n, ݊n ≥ 3 determinant in terms of (݊ n − 1) × (݊n − 1) with ܽa11 ≠ 0. Calculating the determinant of the matrix ݊ n ݊× n, ݊n ≥ 3 with Chio Condensation method will be easier if it is assisted excel and Matlab.
