Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku belajar mandiri mahasiswa Bahasa Inggris tahun ajaran 2017 melalui e-learning di Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat. Permasalahan yang terjadi pada para mahasiswa pendidikan jarak jauh di antaranya adalah kurangnya motivasi dan penundaan, gangguan dari teknologi, pekerjaan dan keluarga, juga kecenderungan menggunakan metode reaktif daripada metode proaktif. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode campuran. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan Online Self-Regulated Learning Scale (OSLQ) dan wawancara. Ada 44 mahasiswa yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa harus meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan mereka tentang bagaimana mengelola dan meningkatkan antusiasme pembelajaran online mereka.Kata kunci : Perilaku belajar mandiri, E-learning, Pendidikan jarak jauh.

Abstract

During the pandemic, distance learning was thought to be more effective and efficient. In light of this situation, online learning requires learning readiness because of changes in the way students learn. At SMPN 36 Sarolangun, Jambi, the goal of this study is to find out how students’ readiness of learning English processes during the new normal. In this study, researchers used a qualitative descriptive research method. The participants in this study were eighth-grade students at SMPN 36 Sarolangun Jambi. The purpose of this study was to describe students' readiness for a new normal of learning. The researcher chose the sample by looking for students who studied using blended learning. Purposive sampling was used in this research. The researcher found that the school had delivered subject matter online and offline, therefore, the researcher was interested in doing research at that school, which students still did not understand. In this case, the researcher found a problem in that students could not understand the material clearly when school became normal. Students have not been able to concentrate during the teaching and learning process, but there are still a small number of students who concentrate during the learning process. Readiness to learn can be seen in the reactions of most students because they have not been able to ask the teacher during lessons and have not been able to express ideas to the teacher.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa permasalahan mahasiswa dalam membunyikan akhiran -ed dalam membaca nyaring bagi mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat di tahun akademik 2019/2020. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya masalah-masalah yang membuat mahasiswa belum bisa membunyikan akhiran –ed dalam Bahasa Inggris secara benar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualtitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan reading aloud test, interview dan audio recording sebagai instrument. Peneliti menggunakan sample untuk test sebanyak 42, dan 30 sample untuk wawancara, yang diperoleh dari hasil test mahasiswa yang mendapatkan nilai minimum (poor). Hasil dari analisa penelitian ini ditemukan beberapa permasalahan mahasiswa dalam membunyikan akhiran -ed dalam membaca nyaring yaitu, Perbedaan sistem bunyi antara Bahasa Inggris dengan Bahasa ibu mereka (mother tongue), locality (environment), personality, motivation, dan lack of knowledge.
