Abstract

This study aimed to explore the motivations and perceptions of student teachers in choosing teaching as a career. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among students from four groups based on year of entry. Using the FIT-choice scale, participants' motivational factors were assessed. Descriptive analysis showed that intrinsic factors, such as the desire to become a teacher and enjoyment of working with children, strongly influenced their motivation. They also perceived teaching as a demanding yet rewarding profession with high social status. Despite recognizing the relatively small salaries of teachers and the persuasion to choose other careers, the participants expressed high satisfaction with their choice. These findings underscore the importance of intrinsic rewards, the need to address salary concerns, and the importance of a supportive environment in attracting and retaining motivated individuals in the teaching profession. The results of this study have implications for educational institutions and policy makers in improving teacher recruitment and retention strategies

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak tidak hanya pada kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat. Pandemi COVID 19 makin menurunkan angka pelayanan imunisasi yang telah rutin dilaksanakan, bahkan menimbulkan masalah lain karena masyarakat makin phobia dengan imunisasi dan vaksinasi. Dengan penurunan pelayanan imunisasi tersebut tentunya akan menimbulkan persoalan baru dan tantangan yang lebih berat dalam menurunkan rsiko terjangkitnya masyarakat terhdap penyakit yang dapat dilindungan melalui cakupan imunisasi. Tidak hanya pelayanan dan keberterimaan pelayanan imunisasi yang makin menurun namun juga keberterimaan vaksinasi COVID 19 menjadi persoalan khususnya di Kabupaten Sinjai.Untuk itu membangun dan menumbuhkan kembali kepercayaan masyarakat diperlukan suatu upaya sistematis dan berkelanjutan. Pelatihan komunikasi antar pribadi merupakan salah satu bentuk pelatihan yang melatih kemampuan seseorang berinteraksi dengan orang lain/lingkungan sekitar melalui komunikasi yang efektif dan menjadi alternatif solusi untuk meningkatkan cakupan vaksinasi COVID 19, cakupan Imunisasi Dasar dan Lanjutannya. Kegiatan Pelatihan Komunikasi Interpersonal tentang Vaksinasi COVID-19, Imunisasi Dasar dan Imunisasi Lanjutan Bagi Kader dilakukan dengan kolaborasi 4 organisasi, yaitu UNICEF, Yayasan Jenewa Madani Indonesia, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sinjai dan Pemerintah Daerah dalam hal ini Dinas Kesehatan Sinjai. Kegiatan pelatihan diikuti oleh 42 orang relawan yang nantinya akan bertugas untuk memberikan edukasi dan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan metode pelatihan inclass. Metode pelatihan/pembelajaran yaitu metode diskusi, couching, presentasi, tanya jawab, barainstorming, ice breaking/games dan studi kasus. Kegiatan ini diharapkan akan meningkatkan cakupan vaksinasi covid-19 dan imunisasi dasar dan lanjutan

Abstract

This research is an experimental research. This research is motivated by the lack of application of the VCT model in Civics learning which is able to attract students' attention resulting in low critical thinking skills. Research Objectives (1) To find out the application of Civics lessons using the VCT class V model at SDN 047 Inpres Baurung (2) To find out the critical thinking skills of class V students at SDN 047 Inpres Baurung (3) To find out the effect of the VCT learning model on critical thinking skills class V students at SDN 047 inpres baurung. The independent variable in this study is the use of the VCT learning model while the dependent variable is the ability to think critically. The research design was a Quasi Experimental Design using the Nonequivalent Control Group type. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation sheets of learning process activities, tests that were carried out twice, namely pretest and posttest tests and supporting learning tools for conducting research and research documentation. Research data analysis techniques using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the research that has been done can be concluded that: (1) the application of the VCT learning model to the critical thinking skills of Civics students of class V SDN 047 Inpres Baurung Kec. Campalagian District. Polewali Mandar. went well and effectively, this is evidenced by the results of observations of presentations in the very good category. (2) The ability to think critically shows an increase after giving the VCT learning model in learning activities. This is evidenced by the comparison of the average pretest scores for Civics learning outcomes in the experimental class as a whole and the posttest between the experimental class and the control class. (3) The use of the VCT learning model on students' Civics learning outcomes is said to have an effect, by proving based on the results of hypothesis testing, namely the probability value or the difference in test results obtained after learning using the VCT learning model.

Abstract

This study explores the attitudes and behaviors of elementary school teacher education students towards the integration of local wisdom into learning. The respondents, from the 2020-2023 cohort of active students in primary teacher education, generally expressed positive attitudes towards the importance of integrating local wisdom. Survey responses from 176 participants revealed a collective recognition of the value and relevance of local knowledge, with 73% emphasizing its importance. However, gaps in student experiences suggest the need for targeted strategies to ensure equitable exposure across different subject areas. This research highlights potential limitations in expanding the integration of local knowledge and provides insights for educators and policy makers to foster a more culturally inclusive educational environment. Cultural Capital Theory was applied to interpret the results of this study, highlighting local knowledge as a form of cultural capital that influences students' educational experiences.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to describe the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by interactive multimedia media at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 69 Balang-balang and to enhance students' learning motivation through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by interactive multimedia media at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 69 Balang-balang. The research method used is action research by adopting the STAR approach (Situation, Challenge, Action, Result Reflection, and Impact). Data were collected through teacher reflection journals, video recordings of lessons, observation sheets by school supervisors, interviews with students and teachers, surveys of students, and student learning artifacts. The results of this research indicate that this innovative approach has a significant positive impact on students' learning motivation in elementary school. Some key findings that can be drawn as the main conclusions include: 1) increased student engagement; 2) interactive multimedia can be an effective tool to facilitate concept understanding; 3) improving technology infrastructure is key to ensuring smooth implementation and seamless learning experiences; 4) students find learning with multimedia more enjoyable and engaging; 5) increased student motivation and participation through the PBL model assisted by interactive multimedia successfully stimulated students' learning motivation; 6) the indicators of successful implementation are met.

Abstract

This research focuses on the condition of education in Makassar, especially in island areas such as Barrang Lompo, where educational facilities and resources are still limited. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on improving science learning outcomes of grade 10 students at Barrang Lompo High School. This pre-experimental study used a One-Shot Case Study Design with two main variables: project assignment and science learning outcomes. The subjects were 28 grade 10 students, with data collected through cognitive tests and observation sheets measuring psychomotor skills. Data were analyzed descriptively, by presenting statistics such as mean scores and frequency distributions. The results showed that the implementation of PjBL had a positive impact on cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes. The cognitive assessment showed that 75% of students met the minimum completion criteria (KKM), while the psychomotor assessment showed that 100% of students reached the standard. The results concluded that PjBL can significantly improve educational outcomes in under-resourced areas by encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving skills and active student engagement. Future research is recommended to further explore and validate these findings across different subjects and contexts
