Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models on mathematics learning achievement viewed from self regulated learning (SRL). The learning models compared were cooperative learning model of TAI-PS, NHT-PS, and classical-PS learning. The research used the quasi-experimental research with the factorial design of 3  3. The population of the research were all of the students in grade VII of junior high school at Boyolali regency in the first semester of the academic year 2014/2015. The hypotheses of the research were analyzed by using two-way analysis of variance with unbalanced cells at the significance level of . The result of these research are as follows. (1) TAI-PS model gives better mathematics learning achievement than NHT-PS and classical-PS, whereas NHT-PS model gives better mathematics learning achievement than classical-PS. (2) Students with high SRL are better in mathematics learning achievement than students with medium and low SRL, and also medium SRL have better mathematics learning achievement than low SRL. (3) (a) TAI-PS with high, medium, and low SRL have the same mathematics learning achievement. (b) NHT-PS with high and medium SRL and also medium and low SRL have the same mathematics learning achievement, whereas high SRL have better mathematics learning achievement than students with low SRL. (c) classical-PS with high SRL are better in mathematics learning achievement than students with medium and low SRL, whereas students with medium and low SRL have the same mathematics learning achievement. (4) (a) The high SRL with the TAI-PS, NHT-PS, and classical-PS give the same mathematics learning achievement. (b) The medium SRL with TAI-PS and NHT-PS, and also NHT-PS and classical-PS give the same mathematics learning achievement, whereas TAI-PS give better in mathematics learning achievement than classical-PS. (c) The low SRL with TAI-PS and NHT-PS give the same mathematics learning achievement, whereas TAI-PS and NHT-PS give better in mathematics learning achievement than classical-PS.Keywords: Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), Numbered Heads Together (NHT), classical learning, scientific approach, and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL).

Abstract

Every student in solving mathematical problems in the form of story problems has a unique solution. This uniqueness encourages research conducted to describe the problem-solving ability of social arithmetic stories by junior high school students from Polya stage. Stage Polya consists of understanding the problem, making plans, implementing plans and re-checking. The approach of this research is descriptive qualitative with subject as many as 3 students of class VIII SMP namely that each one student with different level of ability. The results show that high-ability students can go through all stages of Polya. Moderate students can only go through 3 stages namely, understand the problem, make plans and make plans. This student can not solve the problem correctly and there is an error in the calculation. Low-ability students can not pass through all stages Polya, because this student does not understand what is known and asked from the problem so that in the next stage can not be through it. It is expected that this research become one of the reference to optimize student problem solving abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the process of creative thinking of students according to the theory of Wallas, and reviewed of the cognitive style of psychology. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The subject in this study amounted to 6 students from SMP Kristen 2 Salatiga, which consisted of 3 students with cognitive style Field Independent (FI), and 3 students with cognitive style Field Dependent (FD). The subject taking technique is a purposive sampling. Based on the results of analysis and discussion, the subject of FI can carry out all stages of the process of creative thinking according to Wallas's theory (preparation, incubation, illumination, verification) well, compared to the subject of FD.

Abstract

The purposes of this research is elaborating the capability of thinking critically FRISCO (Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity and Overview) in solving problem based on Polya stage (Research is underdtanding the problems, Creating the plan, Implementing the plan and Reviewing), as reviewd by cognitive style of Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI). It is such a kind of qualitative descriptive and purposive technical sampling research used in this thesis, after some experiments the author found 1 particular subject in each style wether it from Field Dependent (FD) style of Field Independent (FI) style which was taken from Christian 2 junior high school Salatiga. Based on the research, FD subject incapable of implementing Polya stage, while FI subject capable of implementing Polya stage. Based on those four stages: FD is lack of capabillities compliying the criteria of FRISCO, while FI subject meets the requirements of FRISCO.

Abstract

This is a quasi experimental research aiming to compare the learning outcomes resulted from Jigsaw and Two Stay Two Stray learning models in the context of self regulated learning. The objectives of this research are to investigate (1) whether there is an influence of the learning model on the learning outcomes, (2) whether there is an influence of self regulated learning on the mathematics learning outcomes, and (3) whether there is an interaction between the learning models (Jigsaw and TSTS) and self regulated learning. The population of this research was the eleventh graders of SMA 1 Bringin having the mathematical induction lesson. By employing the cluster random sampling technique, two MIPA (math and science program) classes were selected to be the research subjects. The XI MIPA 2 class was set to be the experimental class, and XI MIPA 4 as the comparison. This research employed the Randomized Control Pretest-Posttest Design Group, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method to test normality, Leven's method to test homogeneity, and Independent Sample T-Test to test the initial balance of ability. The statistical test program used in this research was SPSS version 24 with 5% significance level. The results of hypothesis testing concluded that (1) there were no differences in the learning outcomes resulted from the cooperative learning model implementation, (2) there were differences in the learning outcomes in the context of self regulated learning, and (3) there was no interaction between the learning models and self regulated learning.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa SMP berdasarkan tahapan polya ditinjau dari adversity quotient. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga siswa kelas VIIIB di SMP Kristen Satya Wacana tahun ajaran 2018/2019, yaitu satu siswa climber (AQ tinggi), camper (AQ sedang), dan quitter (AQ rendah). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan siswa climber dalam memahami masalah, mampu menyebutkan seluruh informasi dan menjelaskan kembali masalah menggunakan bahasanya sendiri, kemudian merencanakan langkah pemecahan masalah, membuat alternatif rencana penyelesaian, menuliskan langkah penyelesaian secara runtut dan jelas, dan melakukan pemeriksaan kembali. kemampuan siswa camper dalam memahami masalah adalah tidak menyebutkan seluruh informasi dan menjelaskan kembali masalah menggunakan bahasanya sendiri, kemudian merencanakan langkah pemecahan masalah, tidak menuliskan langkah penyelesaian secara rinci, dan tidak melakukan pemeriksaan kembali. Kemampuan siswa quitter dalam memahami masalah adalah tidak menuliskan informasi secara lengkap dan menjelaskan kembali masalah menggunakan bahasanya sendiri, kemudian mengalami kesulitan dalam merencanakan langkah penyelesaian dan kesulitan menuliskan langkah penyelesaian, serta tidak melakukan pemeriksaan kembali. Abstract: This study aimed to describe the skill of junior high school student?s mathematical problem solving based on the type of AQ. This study is a qualitative-descriptive study. Subjects in this study are students of class VIIIB in SMP Kristen Satya Wacana academic year of 2018/2019, that is climber, camper, and quitter. The data in this study were obtained through three methods, that was questionnaires, test and interview. The results showed that the skill of climber student in understanding problems were mentioning all the information in the problem completely and reiterated the given problem using his own language, and making a plan first to solve the problems, making an alternative solution, writing down the steps to resolve in a coherent and clear answer, and re-examining the solution. Skill of camper student in understanding  problems were not mentioning all the information in the problems and reiterated the given problem by using his own language, and planning first the troubleshooting steps, writing less detailed steps to resolve, and not checking back the solution. Skill of quitter student in understanding problems were not writing down the information in complete and  reiterated the given problem by using his own language, and having a difficulty in planning steps to solve the problems, having a difficulty in writing the completion of the steps, and not re-examining the solution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini akan membandingkan model pembelajaran Make a Match (MaM) dengan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT). Tujuan dari penelitian ini: 1) untuk mengetahui diantara model pembelajaran Make a Match dan TGT yang menghasilkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik 2) untuk mengetahui diantara tingkat kecemasan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah yang menghasilkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik 3) untuk mengetahui pada masing-masing model pembelajaran, dengan tingkat kecemasan mana yang menghasilkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik 4) untuk mengetahui pada masing-masing tingkat kecemasaan, dengan model pembelajaran mana yang menghasilkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP N 7 Salatiga kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumen, tes dan angket. Penelitian ini menggunakan program SPSS 17.0 sebagai alat bantu pengolahan data. Uji yang digunakan meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogen, uji keseimbangan rerata dan uji anava dua jalur. Hasil dari penelitian ini: (1) model pembelajaran TGT  menghasilkan prestasi belajar lebih baik dibandingkan model pembelajaran Make a Match, (2) siswa dengan tingkat kecemasan rendah menghasilkan prestasi belajar yang lebih baik dibandingkan siswa dengan tingkat kecemasan sedang atau tinggi, (3) dengan model pembelajaran TGT maupun model pembelajaran Make a Match dengan tingkat kecemasan yang sama menghasilkan hasil belajar yang sama, (4) siswa dengan tingkat kecemasan dikenai dengan model pembelajaran TGT ataupun Make a Match menghasilkan hasil belajar  yang sama.

Abstract

Penelitian menggunakan data awal yang berdistribusi normal setelah dilakukan uji dengan Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Setelah itu dilakukan pengujian variabel moderator dengan RA dan MRA. Hasil penelitian memberikan sumbangan predictor yang semula 18.2% (dari model RA) meningkat sebesar 21.4% menjadi 39.6% (dari model MRA). SRL dapat memberikan pengaruh positif dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik terhadap hasil belajar siswa. SRL mampu memprediksi hasil belajar siswa karena siswa dengan tingkat SRL yang baik memiliki inisiatif belajar dari diri sendiri, teratur dalam belajar, mampu menyelesaikan suatu masalah dan dapat menempatkan diri ke dalam lingkungan sosial. Siswa dengan kemampuan tersebut mampu menyesuaian pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik yang di dalam proses belajarnya terdapat proses mengamati, menanya, mengumpulkan data, menganalisis, dan mengkomunikasikan. Oleh karena itu SRL berperan memoderatori pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik terhadap hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan lapisan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa calon guru matematika dalam menyelesaikan soal logaritma. Teori yang digunakan dalam mendeskripsikan lapisan pemahaman konsep adalah teori Pirie & Kieren yang terdiri dari delapan lapisan, antara lain primitive knowing, image making, image having, property noticing, formalizing, observing, structuring, inventising. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga terpilih 3 mahasiswa aktif dengan IPK tertinggi pada angkatan 2018, 2019 dan 2020 program studi Pendidikan Matematika, FKIP, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana, Salatiga. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama dan instrumen pendukung berupa soal tes dan pedoman wawancara. Metode tes berupa soal persamaan logaritma dan metode wawancara digunakan untuk memperoleh data penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa subjek 1 dan subjek 2 telah mencapai lapisan kedelapan, yaitu inventising. Sedangkan subjek 3 mencapai lapisan ketujuh, yaitu structuring. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa calon guru matematika telah mencapai lapisan kedelapan, yaitu inventising.

Abstract

AbstrakSeiring perkembangan zaman dan teknologi, media pembelajaran mengalami perkembangan yang pesat terutama media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, yaitu smartphone. Namun sangat disayangkan bahwa penggunaan smartphone di Indonesia, didominasi oleh kegiatan komunikasi dan hiburan daripada kegiatan belajar. Masalah yang ditemukan ini, memotivasi sebuah penelitian pengembangan tentang aplikasi Mobile Learning yang dibuat dengan Android Studio sebagai sumber belajar dan sarana mengerjakan soal trigonometri SMA. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangkan Mobile Learning yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian yakni peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 2 dan 3 Semester 2 Tahun Ajar 2020/2021 SMA Kristen Satya Wacana sejumlah 10 peserta didik. Hasil validasi membuktikan bahwa Mobile Learning yang dikembangkan valid serta praktis. Hasil uji coba membuktikan bahwa aplikasi Mobile Learning dikategorikan layak dipakai dalam pembelajaran. Hasil pretest serta posttest juga menunjukkan bahwa Mobile Learning efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar, kemudian efektif menjadi sarana belajar serta mengerjakan soal matematika.  The Development of Android-based PINTHIR Mobile Learning as a Learning Source and Media for Solving Trigonometry Problem in High School  AbstractAlong with the times and technology, learning media has experienced rapid development, especially technology-based learning media, namely smartphones. However, it is unfortunate that the use of smartphones in Indonesia is dominated by communication and entertainment activities rather than learning activities. This problem found motivates development research on the Mobile Learning application made with Android Studio as a learning resource and a means of working on high school trigonometry problems. The research objective is to develop valid, practical, and effective Mobile Learning. This research is development research using the ADDIE model. The research subjects were 10 students of class XI MIPA 2 and 3 Semester 2 of the 2020/2021 Satya Wacana Christian High School. The validation results prove that the developed Mobile Learning is valid and practical. The trial results prove that the Mobile Learning application is categorized as suitable for use in learning. The results of the pretest and posttest also show that Mobile Learning is effective in improving learning outcomes, as well as being an effective means of learning and working on trigonometry questions.
