Abstract

Abstract The first two years of human life are critical to form the foundation of optimal growth, development and health in the long term. It is therefore very important to ensure that children aged 0-2 years get optimal nutritional care. The lack of exclusive breastfeeding coverage is influenced by several things, especially the very limited number of breastfeeding counselors, the lack of optimal educational activities, socialization, advocacy and campaigns related to breastfeeding and the lack of optimal development of breastfeeding support groups (Astika, 2012). Therefore, to increase the scope of exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the Taman Baca Health Center, a Breastfeeding Support Group (KP-ASI) was formed by empowering the surrounding community. The lowest exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Palembang city is still low, to increase exclusive breastfeeding coverage can be done by changing the knowledge and attitudes of mothers in exclusive breastfeeding for breastfeeding mothers. KP-ASI is a form of community empowerment in this case cadres who assist health workers (nutritionists) in delivering information related to exclusive breastfeeding and motivating pregnant women and lactating mothers to breastfeed their babies up to a minimum of 6-24 months. The Breastfeeding Support Group (KP-ASI) is a group formed by health care facilities and the community to support pregnant women, new mothers and breastfeeding mothers. The implementation of training for ASI support groups (posyandu cadres) has not been implemented so that training activities are needed to assist posyandu cadres in providing skills and seeing changes in cadres' attitudes to do their duties to help the community related to health information, understanding in mentoring breastfeeding mothers so that the exclusive breastfeeding target is achieved. Abstract

Background: Maternal intake, especially during pregnancy, is one factor that plays an important role. Improvement of nutrition and health of pregnant women is closely related to the level of education, knowledge, and attitudes in meeting nutritional needs during pregnancy. Explain the Effectiveness of the Module for Pregnant Women based on Nutrition education, Nutritional Status, Knowledge, and attitudes of Pregnant Women in efforts to prevent stunting. Methods: The research design is pre-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test. They are held at one of the Puskesmas in Palembang from June to September 2023. Sampel is pregnant women with inclusion criteria, measuring nutritional status, knowledge, and attitudes of pregnant women before and after intervention with the Pregnant Women Module. Probability sampling variables and research variables of knowledge level, attitude, and nutritional status. The instruments used are questionnaires, and data are analysed with t-test statistics. Results: Based on the T-test, there was a significant influence on respondents' level of knowledge and attitudes after being given treatment. The t-test (2-tail) result > 0.05 showed no significant difference between initial and late nutritional status based on HB measurements. This showed no significant effect of treatment with the module of pregnant women on nutritional status. While nutritional status is based on LILA measurements, The T-test results have a significance value (2-tail) < 0.05. This shows that there is a significant effect of intervention on nutritional status after being given treatment Conclusion: The nutrition education-based module for pregnant women has a significant effect on the level of knowledge and attitudes of respondents. There was an increase in knowledge, attitudes, and nutritional status of respondents after nutrition education. It is hoped that pregnant women, after nutrition education, can understand more about Balanced Nutrition and stunting prevention during pregnancy and after childbirth. They are processing the daily food menu with healthy and nutritious food ingredients so that chronic lack of energy and anaemia do not occur during pregnancy.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a non-communicable disease whose incidence rate is still quite high in Indonesia. Currently, the availability of enteral diabetes mellitus formulas derived from local food is still small. Meanwhile, the price of commercial enteral formula is quite expensive. Whereas local food has the potential as anti-diabetic and anti-hyperglycemia. Pumpkin and catfish are local food ingredients that have the potential to be alternative enteral formulas for people with diabetes mellitus. Yellow pumpkin contains antioxidants that play a role in reducing blood sugar. Catfish as a source of energy and protein needed by diabetes mellitus patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the acceptability of enteral diabetes mellitus formula based on pumpkin flour and catfish meal. This study used a quasi-experimental, with a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) trial design by making 3 diabetes mellitus formulas. The acceptability of the three formulations obtained an average ranking score in Formula 1 of 2.32, Formula 2 of 1.73, and Formula 3 of 1.93. The results of the proximate analysis of Formula 1 had carbohydrate content of 64.85%, protein of 16.50%, dietary fiber of 4.69%, ash of 4.32%, water 4.53%, total energy 413.60 kcal/100g, energy from fat 88.20 kcal/100g and total fat content 9.80%. Enteral formula based on pumpkin and catfish flour has the potential as enteral food for Diabetes Mellitus patient.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) cases are increasing every year, IDF 2021 data shows DM cases aged 20-79 years with a total of 537 million people (10,5%), predicted to continue to increase in 2030 to 643 million people (11,3%) . DM sufferers can basically live a normal life if they follow four pillars, one of which is complying with education. It is important for patients to receive education in choosing foods that contain a low glycemic index because they are more slowly absorbed by the body into glucose, so that glucose levels in the body become more controlled. DM sufferers are advised to consume foods with a low glycemic index because these foods are more slowly absorbed by the body into glucose so that glucose levels in the body are more controlled. The more often DM patients receive education, the better their behavior, especially in choosing foods with a low glycemic index. Objectives: Knowing the effect of providing food glycemic index education on blood glucose levels in type 2 DM patients at Palembang Social Health Center. Methods: The research was carried out at the Palembang Social Health Center for 5 months, namely August to November 2021. Data was collected through measurements, namely body weight and height, interviews in the form of 3x24 hour recall and measurement of blood glucose levels. The type of research used is quantitative research using a Quasi Experimental research design. The research used a pretest and posttest with control group design with 46 respondents. The statistical analysis method used is the Paired T-test. The results of the dependent t-test between the treatment and comparison groups had a p value <0,05 which was equally significant, so it was continued with the independent t-test.Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference in blood glucose levels before and after providing counseling using posters (p=0,002) and booklets (p=0,004).Conclusion: Booklet media had more influence on increasing respondents' knowledge compared to using other media such as posters.

Abstract

Malnutrition in older people is brought on by a number of circumstances, including dentalissues that restrict food intake. Due to the strong connection between this issue and thenutritional status of the old, it requires careful consideration. As a result, new food productsthat are simple for the elderly to consume but provide a balanced diet are required. This studyis an experimental one conducted in a lab setting with three different treatments and acompletely randomized design. The Food Technology Science Laboratory of the NutritionDepartment of the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Palembang prepared the SoyaBustul healthy drink and conducted organoleptic tests there, while the Proximate Analysis testwas conducted at the Food Technology Laboratory, Sriwijaya University, Palembang. Thepanelists enjoyed the taste, aroma, texture, and color of the F1 treatment with the addition of25 grams of rice bran, 30 grams of snakehead fish meal, and 35 grams of soybean flour, according to the results of the organoleptic test using the hedonic scale. The overallacceptability of Soya Bustul is more despised the more snakehead fish meal, rice bran, andsoybean flour are added. The overall look of color, scent, taste, and texture has an impact onthis circumstance. The finest Soya Bustul beverage formulation has proximate analysis valuesof 5.20 percent fiber, 75.52% water, 1.10 percent ash, 3.72 percent fat, 5.84 percent protein, and 13.82 percent carbohydrates.Keyword : Elderly, Soybean, Snakehead Fish, Bran
