Abstract

The low level of students' understanding in learning mathematics is caused by the assumption held by most students that mathematics is a difficult and boring subject. This diminishes students' motivation to learn, leading to the suggestion that mathematics is a subject to be avoided. This challenge serves as the foundation for the writing of this academic work. Through this research, it is hoped that we can identify the challenges in early math education, particularly in mathematics, and propose efforts to overcome difficulties in learning mathematics, especially in the third grade of Elementary School. This study is conducted using a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection aims to adjust and obtain information about the factors that make it difficult for students to grasp mathematical concepts. The research results indicate that students' difficulties in learning mathematics consist of three components: difficulty in understanding concepts, difficulty in skills, and difficulty in problem-solving. The factors causing difficulties in learning mathematics originate from both internal and external factors. Based on these factors, efforts that can be made to reduce difficulties in learning mathematics include teaching math in an enjoyable way, using tangible learning media, increasing practice exercises, and establishing cooperation with students' parents.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of technology-based instructional media in enhancing elementary school students' learning interest. With the presence of technology, learning becomes more engaging and interactive for students. The aim of this research is to determine the utilization of technology-based instructional media in improving students' learning interest. The article is written using a literature survey and qualitative research method. The research findings indicate that the utilization of technology-based instructional media is perceived as more practical, efficient in terms of time, and offers diverse material variations. Technology-based media can enhance students' interest and learning motivation, as evidenced by their high level of active engagement during classroom learning. Furthermore, technology-based instructional media can also assist teachers in delivering material creatively and can motivate students to learn better. Thus, the implementation of technology-based instructional media in elementary schools can be an effective strategy to enhance students' learning interest and cultivate a generation skilled in facing future challenges.

Abstract

The research is based on the importance of enhancing students' critical thinking skills in the subject of Pancasila Education, particularly on the topic "Maintaining the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) with Unity and Cohesion". The implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is expected to address the issue of students' lack of critical thinking skills in elementary schools. Furthermore, the use of the interactive media Wordwall as an aid is anticipated to increase student engagement in the learning process. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research are fifth-grade students at an elementary school. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and critical thinking skills tests. The data obtained were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively to measure the improvement in students' critical thinking skills before and after the implementation of the PBL model assisted by interactive media Wordwall. The results of the research indicate that the implementation of the PBL model assisted by interactive media Wordwall significantly improves students' critical thinking skills. This improvement is evident from the increase in students' critical thinking skills test scores from the first cycle to the last cycle. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the PBL model is effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills in Pancasila Education, especially with the support of interactive media such as Wordwall.
